Haylie's POV

Once I had gotten outside to the parking lot with Zack by my side, I realized the stupid skank was leaning against my car. It's gonna need to go through the car wash after this encounter.

"Get the fuck off of my car." I say to Andrea once we were standing close enough to her.

"What do you want, Andrea?" Zack sighed, annoyed. He just wants to go home and I can see it on his face.

"I just want to know why I'm not allowed to see my son." She said, pushing herself off of my car.

I put my index finger on my chin. "Hm, I think it's because he wasn't put in a good environment, you were doing drugs in the presence of him, oh, and you abused him. That goes along with the restraining order and the custody we have of him."

"Why can't we all just look passed that and let him come with me just for the weekend?" Andrea started to get closer and closer to Zack.

"If you put one fucking finger on him, I'll call the police." I threatened.

She stopped her movements towards Zack and crossed her hands in front of her body.

"You're lucky I'm even coming near you." Zack growled at his birth mother.

"And why is that, sweetheart?" Andrea looked him dead in the eye as he talked.

"First off, don't call me 'sweetheart' and two, because you're a piece of shit mother and I want nothing to fucking do with you! You treated me like shit and kept me away from my dad for so long! Why don't you think I hate you? I don't ever want to see you again, my family doesn't ever want to see you again. Don't come around because we will call the police. And we know how scared you are of the police." Zack finished his speech and got into the passenger side of the car.

"You're just going to let him talk to me like that? Wow, shows what a 'great parent' you are." She rolls her eyes and starts walking away before I stop her.

"I am a great parent. You're the one who's a shitty ass mom." I got into the driver's seat of my car, forcing the keys into the ignition.

I drove off after flipping her off and started home.

It was quiet until we started driving down Melrose.

"Hey, Mom?" Zack said quietly.

"Yeah, Z?" I stopped at a redlight and turned to him.

"Do you remember Maddie?" He asks, looking out the window.

"Yeah, the nice, pretty girl?"

He smiled. "Yeah, that one."

"What about her?" I drove the car once the light turned green and turned down our road.

"I asked her to be my girlfriend today. Well, I told her I wanted to be my girlfriend and she said she wanted to so that's how it happened. But I really really like her and I want to take her out but I don't know how to ask her or where." He explained just as we stopped outside of our house.

"Do you want my advice?" I asked, pulling the keys out.

"Kinda, yeah."

"Well, firstly, ask her if she's free any time this week, next week, or whatever. I always liked moonlit picnics and looking at the stars but every girl's different. Take her to a nice dinner, dress up a little bit, then take her to look at the stars. Like in the movies where they're laying on the hood of th–"

"Alright, Mom. I get it. I think I'll do that. Do you mind if I use your car for the date whenever it may be?" He looks at me.

"Of course not. But we're gonna have to get you your own car soon." I chuckle, getting out of the car.

"Yeah, that'd be greatly appreciated."

"Your birthday is coming up so we'll see what we can do."

The two of us walked into the house. Zack followed me to Kian and I's room. Kian was sitting on the bed typing away on his phone. He gets his casts and stuff of in two days and I couldn't be even more excited for him.

"Zack, what did you do?" Kian asked, putting his phone away once Zack and I stepped into the room.

"These three guys were talking some bad shit on Sierra so I beat the hell out of them." He explained.

"How long have you been suspended?"

"10 days." I replied.

"I'm glad you were defending your sister. You did what we taught you do." Kian looked back at his phone, dismissing Zack.

Once Zack disappeared, I went and hopped on the bed after closing the bedrooms door. I sat beside my husband on my phone as well.

"I can't wait to get these damn casts off." Kian grumbled.

I smirked. "Yeah, me too."

"I'll be back baby, I'm gonna go and check on Chandler. He should be waking up from his nap any minute now." I said, kissing his forehead and getting off the bed. I walked down into the nursery and over to Chandler's crib. I looked at him and saw him on his stomach and his skin whiter than it was when I put him down for his nap. His lips looked blue. I reached into his crib and rolled him back onto his back.

I frowned when I felt the coldness off his soft skin. I went to the thermostat to see what the temperature was. 74 degrees. I walk back over to the crib to see him covered in his blue blanket. Why is he cold?

I see his eyes opened but he's not moving. I bend over the crib and listen to see if he's breathing.

He's not breathing. I put my hand over his heart to see if it's beating.

...it's not.

"Oh no, no, no, no!" I repeat. He can't do this. He can't.

I pick him up out of his crib, feeling his ice cold body pressed against mine. Tears run down my face as my son lays in my arms.

"No!" I yell, sobbing. "Chandler, please. Baby, please." I cuddled him into my chest and held onto his fragile body tightly.

"Haylie? What's wrong?" Kian yelled. I ignored him.

I heard feet beat against the floorboards as Zack and Sierra appear in the doorway of the nursery.

"Please come back to me baby. Please." I cried, my tears dripping onto his white, cold face.

"Mom? Are you okay?" Zack asked, coming closer to me. Once he got a view of Chandler, his hands went to his mouth and tears filled his eyes. Sierra looked worried and went to get her dad.

"Oh my god." Zack cried beside me, hugging me while I hugged Chandler's lifeless body.

"Dad, come quick!" Sierra sobbed.

"I'm crippled. What's going on?!" Kian started freaking out.

"Dad, Chandler's gone. He died." Sierra cried louder.

"What!? No, he didn't! He was perfectly fine!" Kian boomed.

I got up with Chandler's body in my arms, soaked in my own tears. Zack followed me into my bedroom.

I cried even harder when I see the tears falling down Kian's face. "I don't know what I did wrong."

Kian signaled for me to come closer as he wiped his face. I did as I was i old and he took Chandler from my arms. My arms felt bare without him being in my embrace.

Kian cuddled Chandler into him as he cried ten times harder than I've ever seen him cry. "Chandler, please be okay."

"Yeah, something is wrong with our little brother and he looks dead but we don't know for sure." I heard Sierra's voice say from behind me. She called 911.

"Can you please send an ambulance?" She asked.

"Thank you." She hung up and walked over to me, wrapping her arms around my waist. "Please be okay."

I hugged her tightly along with Zack when he walked over to me. They were crying so hard into my chest. I did the same but kept my eyes on Kian who was drenched in his own tears.

if you're wondering what happened, Chandler died from SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome). and yes, he actually died. I'm sorry if you're sad ❤️😭
