Brad's POV
I'm sitting on my bed tunning my guitar when I hear someone knocking at my door, "Come in," I call out and in steps Casey. She looks beatiful in a simply tee and jeans but she seemed nervous since she kept pushing back a loose strand of hair behind her ear. She clears her throat and her eyes land on my guitar, "Oh, I'm sorry I didn't realize you were busy." She murmurs apperantly embarrassed and I can't help but smile.
I hadn't known her long but the few times I had seen her she appeared strong and confident. However, here she was looking like a doe caught in headlights. "Oh, it's alright. Don't worry I was just tunning it," I reassure her as I place it besides my bed on the floor, "Got to keep it working you know." I add with a smile and she smiles along with me still not moving from besides the door. Her soft golden waves pulled up in her usual messy ponytail, her dark honey colored eyes sparkling with something I couldn't quite decipher.
"Is it true you belong to Three Days Grace?" She blurts out and blushes turning her face bright red. This time I couldn't help but laugh and she looked mortified as she edged closer to the open door. "Oh, Casey, I'm sorry," I tell her, "I wasn't laughing at you. I just..." What the hell was I suppose to say. That she looked amazing with that blush creeping up her face. Would she think I was being too forward? "You look...Adorable." I added lamely not knowing what else to really tell her. I liked her sure but we didn't even know each other that well.
Any other girl I could've talked to no problem but in her presence I was a mess even if I showed a cool exterior. She was different, special and she had this spark that made me feel like the sun itself was in the room. She left me stunned. Speechless. So here we were in a room doing nothing but sharing mutual silence. I looked at her and she looked shyly in my direction without saying a peep.
Usually this amount of shared silence would've made me uncomfortable but being in her presence was just so relaxing that no words needed to be shared. After what seemed like mere second but where actually several minutes my phone rang interrupting the wonderful silence. I searched for it in the cabinet by the bed and picked it up ready to answer but saw as Casey prepared to leave from the corner of my eye.
I got up from the bed dropping my phone on my pillow choosing to stop her rather than to answer a caller who could redial. "Casey, wait," I call out to her catching her just a few steps away from my door. She stops surprised to see me behind her, "Look...Ummm....Wouldyouliketogogetcoffe?" I ask but it all comes out so rushed that I'm wasn't even sure if she had even understood a word a said. She laughed nervously wether it was for herself or for me I couldn't tell.
"You're too cute when your nervous." She whispers once she stops laughing. "Look who's talking." I retort and she blushed. "Casey, would you want to go get coffee with me?" I repeat. This time I was slightly more relaxed seeing as she was still standing in front of me I took that as a good sign. "Coffe?" She asks me sounding slightly confused or something and for the first time I felt my heart race nervously at the thought that she might reject my offer.
"Yeah..." I answer her nervously. Is that my voice shaking? I ask myself not knowing how she could've made me feel so nervous all of a sudden. "No," she begins and for a second my heart stops as my breath gets stuck in my throat. "Coffee is for old people but how about we get some gellato?" She asks opening the door to her room. Her face was glowing as I stood there just looking at her beautiful eyes. I could spend hours doing nothing but looking at her wonderful eyes.
I let out the breath I had been holding inside my chest and cleared my throat, "Yes, of course gellato. When?" I ask unsure and she looks at her wrist where a non-existant watch is suppose to be. "Whenever." She replies shaking her wrist. "How about later today? Maybe at seven?" I ask for the first time in my life I wasn't sure how to approach a girl. "Sure, but, umm...We don't have a car," She says stating the obvious truth, "We could walk?" She says unsure.
There was no way I was going to let her walk to our destination on first date. Wait...was this actually our first date or...maybe she just saw me as Lilly's brother and maybe a friend but nothing else? Doubt was eating away at me, "No, you're my date," the moment the word "date" leaves my lips she blushes but remains quiet, "And I'm not letting you walk to the gellato place?" I tell her sounding a bit unsure because I didn't have the slightest idea what the hell gellato even was.
Casey's POV
Brad stood in front me me looking as if he was about to face a shooting squad bent on killing him. He had asked me out for coffe but even though I could've just agreed to coffee I took a risk and suggested gellato. Although I was almost sure he had no idea what gellato was. "We could walk?" I tell him sounding a bit unsure. I was looking forward towards this date and I had no problem in walking somewhere. Besides I had done it several time before so why not now.
"No, you're my date," he begins and I feel my face growing hot once again the moment the word "date" leaves his lips but I remain quiet not wanting to ruin the moment although my heart was doing summersaults at the mere thought that he saw us getting gellato as an actual date, "And I'm not letting you walk to the gellato place?" He tells me and I giggle because his reply to my suggestion of walking showed me that I was right. He didn't have the slightest idea what the hell gellato even was and I could tell.
"So then what?" I ask him and he looks pensive before snapping his fingers. "We can take one of Lilly's new cars. I'm sure she wouldn't mind." He tells me excitingly and my eyebrows rise in surprise. "Lilly got more cars?" I question and let out a low whistle. "Dam, you guys sure got money." I state a tad bit bitter and see as hurt flashes in his eyes but its gone just as fast it appeared. "Then I don't know. Maybe some other time he murmurs and begins walking away but I catch his arm before he can get away.
"Brad I..." I had barely begun when the doorbell rings and I curse as he leaves me and opens the door to reveal a bouncy brunnette. "Hi, ummm, Does Lilly here?" She asks unsure smiling at him. Was she flirting with him? I grinded my teeth to keep myself from growling at her in jealousy. I had no right to be jealous of him or this unknown girl. "Yeah, she is but I'm not sure she's here right now." I hear him tell her.
"Oh," she murmurs just as Nathan makes an apperance looking a tad bit murderous. He was scary looking but even I had to admit that he was smoking. He was the typical bad boy but with Lilly he seemed so docile and gentle. Brad was different... I didn't know how else to describe him other than him being different. He had a slight bad boy edge but I could tell that that was just and image he adopted from being in a band. He was a sweet guy that was really into music and I knew it.
"Liz, right?" Nathan asks the girl who now looks pretty freaked out by the look on her face. Heck, I was just as freaked out as her or more by the look on Nathans face. He was beyond pissed. Why or at who was a mystery to me. Wait...Maybe he was angry at the fact that Lilly and Daniel failed to make an apperance at the front door. I didn't know what the hell was going on there but perhaps they were having some weird love triangle. "I doubt it." I whisper to myself.
"Yes." She answers timidly and I laugh causing them to stare at me. Oops, probably shouldn't have done that. Nathan looked dangerous to me, "Come on in. Lilly went for a run a few minutes ago but you can wait in here with us. We don't bite." He tells her but that last "we don't bite" part came out with a small growl that made me step back away from them. The girl, Liz, looked scared with one foot inside and one outside the door. "You're scaring the girl," Brad whispers to Nathan who glares at him before storming off to the kitchen.
I walk closer to the door and smile at the poor girl, "Come inside you can wait with us, right?" I ask Brad and he nods in agreement. "Sure, don't worry about Nathan he's....volatile sometimes but he's a nice person don't worry." He reassures her with a smile and I glare at him for second. Was he being nice to her or was he flirting? "Ok, I guess." The girl replies and steps inside closing the door behind her. "How'd you get here?" I ask her as we head towards the living room.
"Oh, I brought my car. Its not as fancy as Lilly's but it gets me where I need to go." She replies carelessly just as we reach the couch. I grab the control from atop the table and sit down while turning on the tv to the news. "I'm going to get something to drink. You girls want anything?" Brad asks us and I shake my head, "Well, actually could I have some tea? Knowing Lilly she's bound to have plenty of tea." Liz giggles as Brad walks into the kitchen smiling and I can't help but glare at her but she doesn't notice. "So ummm...how long have you known Lilly?" She asks me but I pretend not to hear her until she repeats the question. "Not long." I tell her knowing I was being petty but not caring.
"Oh, ok." She says just as Brad comes back with a cup of green tea and a coke. The girl got one thing right though, Lilly did love her tea and kept a good stock of it in the fridge. "Thanx." She tells him as he hands her the glass and sits besides her. "So, tell me Liz. Do you know my sister well?" He asks her she starts sputtering on her tea. "Sister? I wasn't aware Lilly had a brother." She replies and he laughs. "Neighter did she." He adds taking a sip of his coke.
"Where's Lilly?" We hear a small voice say behind us and turn to see Marcus next to Jay. "No idea. Nathan said she went for a run or something." Brad tells him. "Oh, ok," he replies and turns towards Jay. "I'm thirty. Can I have some coke?" He asks him and Jay nods. "Sure, but just one or you'll spoil dinner and Lilly won't like that. You know she wants you to eat well." Jay explains to him as they begin walking towards the kitchen.
I turn to look at Liz and see as surprise registers in her face. "Is that Lilly's son?" She asks her voice barely above a whisper. I laugh, "Marcus? No, he's not but he might as well be." I reply and it was the truth. Lilly had quickly become like a mother to Marcus. She made sure he had everything he needed and even taught him some lessons in wolf culture. I wish I was as lucky.
Door to the pool opens and in steps Daniel with a smiling Lilly who had her arm wrapped around his waist in a hug. A growl comes from the kitchen and out comes a livid Nathan whose whole demeanor changes the moment his eyes met hers. I could swear he was bipolar the way he could go from looking like a dearranged person to sweet as honey. I had noticed the way Lilly and Nathan interacted was a bit strange but then again who was I to judge there relationship?

Not in the same way that Nathan and Lilly (Nilly?) are that is to say that Brey get together because they genuinely like/love each other like in any human relationship. That's not to say that Nilly's love comes purely from there predestined bond because that's not the only thing that binds them together. Nilly's love stems from having lived together for years, from Nathan having seen Lilly at her worst and at her best, from Lilly having changed Nathan for the better although she didn't do it conciously. Nathan changed on his own because being with her made him a better person just like he made her less uptight. He lifts her up and she keeps him grounded. He's air, she's earth and together they're fire. "Like fire and powder. Which, as they kiss, consume." They have a strange relationship that keeps them both on there toes. P.S. In case you didn't get the hint....Nathan is super jealous of Daniel spending so much time with Lilly. (He is overprotective of his mate.) He knows he's her guard but male hormones sometimes get the better of him. There relationship is one that makes you question why there together when they appear to be so different, know what I mean?
