The school musical was getting put on and I decided to try out. Some of the serpents have also been intrigued to try out.
I sat in school as I read the play Listening to it in my ears
We all go to the auditorium and start rehearsal and auditions
"Welcome to Carrie the musical" kev says
Fangs brings his chair up by me "hey fangs" I say
"Okay next introductions" kev says
"I'm Archie I'm okay tommy Ross the boy next door" Archie says
"I'm Betty I play sue snell the good girl" Betty says
"Veronica lodge playing mean girl Chris hargensen" v says
"I'm Cheryl blossom" she says standing up "playing iconic role of Carrie white" she finishes
"Tone deaf" Josie says while fake coughing
"Who's playing your mom? Margaret white?" Betty asks
"I am" we hear and Alice walks up
"Ah" Kevin says
"Mom?" Betty says confused
"Wait seriously?" Ethel asks
"Settle down yes it's untraditional but to me there nothing more amateur than age inappropriate casting" kev says
"I'm really looking forward to getting to know who this woman is you know get under her skin and of course spend some quality time with my daughter Elizabeth" Alice says
Chuck walks in "ah sorry I thought rehearsals were in the music room" he says
"No problem, all are welcomed here" kev says
(I'm having my character be in one of the other peoples who wasn't introduced yet parts for the musical idk who yet tho so stay tuned)
I sat in the chair reading my parts when chuck came up to me "this seat taken?" He asks me and I look up and shake my head.
"I guess you know me I'm chuck" he says reaching his hand out to me
"Im Avery...lodge" I say shaking his hand
"Oh yeah your Veronica's sister yeah I can see it" he says smiling at me
"Don't even try it with her her boyfriend is very protective and a serpent" Toni says to him and he nods his head and shoves his head into his book and I smile and get back to mine
"Ok act one scene one" kev says
"Actually before we begin I've heard whisperings that some of you ensemble vultures don't think I'm fit to play or sing" Cheryl says looking at Josie on the word sing and Josie says "no" but Cheryl ignores her
"The role of Carrie's white . So to settle this matter once and for all maestro" she says
"Okay uh Cheryl" kev tries but she cuts him off "that's not my name!" She sings
"Uh Cheryl" kev tries again but it's to late the music already start
"I've heard that word sounding so sweet thousands of voices forever repeating, Carries, carrie, Carrie. I am the sound of distant thunder that color a flame I'm Carrie I am a song of endless wonder that no one will claim but someday oh my someday someone will know my name!" She finishes singing and Toni stands and claps and we all applaud her as well.
"Wow I think I speak for everyone when I say that was undeniable Cheryl" kev says she starts to walk back to her seat but a sandbag drops and lands a inch beside her.
I lean over to fangs "I guess not everyone liked it" I whisper to him that makes him smile
The next day we start rehearsals
"Tommy lately I've just not been feeling right" Betty sings "I'm so ashamed of how we've all been treating Carrie white, now I realize this is hardly your concern I hate to drag you into this. But I've got no where else to turn, do me a favor" Betty sings to Archie
It gets brought over to v "there's somethin that Carrie white'll just have to learn, if she plays with fire she's gonna get burned I want her to pay up for all that she's cost me, and make her good and sorry that she ever crossed me. You gotta help me if you help me" v sings
They join each other "I could even up this debt, and we could both give Carrie white a night she won't forget do me a favor" they both sing together
"Think of Carrie I've said everything I could but one small act of kindness might change Carrie's life for good" Betty sings
"Fine" Archie and chuck sings
"Come on come on" b and v sing
"Okay okay okay" the boys sing
They all start singing their own parts at the same time.
"I'm begging I'm pleading I'm down on my knees" the girls sing
"If you really love me well then baby baby please do me a favor" they all sing
After rehearsal I go and meet up with Betty and Jughead who shows us the note kev found
"No way is this legit" Betty says showing me it "I agree he's dead" I say "it's def a kid who didn't get a part and is acting out" I say
"Yeah it's a legit threat but it's definitely not from the real black hood" jug says "this is a classic phantom of the opera tactic mystery man send menacing note demanding a certain diva soprano gets recast or else" jug says
"Well who's to say this letter came from a mystery man at all" Betty says emphasizing 'man'
"That's a good point" Jughead says
Betty and I go and talk to Ethel
"Hey Ethel" I say "that looks good" Betty says to her
"Someone picked out all the m&ms from the trail mix" Ethel says I look over and nod at Jughead who was recording us
"Ugh that's terrible" Betty says
"People suck" I say
"It's probably Cheryl" Betty says
"She's always taking things she shouldn't" I say and Betty nods agreeing with me
"Like the role of Carrie's from you" Betty says
"That's nice of you to say" Ethel says smiling
"For Kevin to have cast Cheryl as Carrie without even letting you audition" Betty says and Ethel nods her head
"Would you say you feel angry?" I ask
"I mean I was born to play Carrie, so not to be given a shot at it yeah it makes me angry" Ethel says and Betty looks at Jughead with makes Ethel look
He drops down but we could obviously see him
"Wait is Jughead filming us" Ethel asks
"What oh no no" Betty says "he's shooting b roll" I say and he walks in
"Look I have no idea what you're trying to get me to admit but I am not a violent person and for the record any record I would never do anything to threaten or harm anybody for my own benefit ever" Ethel says and storms out
I go and hangout with the serpents and go over everything for the play with fangs.
The next day I'm up on stage with Cheryl
(I took Josie's part sorry)
"In this scene gym teacher mrs gardener is being a friend when our girl has none out of sheer kindness" kev says
"Good luck with that" Josie says to me
The music starts playing
"So many years you faced the world alone frightened that life might pass you by, then he appears someone who smiles at you. This is no time to question why" I sing to her
I see Cheryl looking at Josie "stop stop stop" she says
"Cheryl I'm the only one who can say that" kev says
"You were great ave but Josie I can't have you hating me when I'm singing s whole song about friendship. I know everything I did was legit crazy Josie but I was wrestling with some dark Carrie white like demons and I'm so so sorry so please please forgive me" Cheryl says
They make up so we continue "that's how it starts two unsuspecting heart" Cheryl starts singing
"In a world where nothings sure and nothings ever guaranteed" I sing "You should trust the way you feel" I sing
"Trust the way you feel" she sings
"That's the only thing that's real" we both sing
"It's like magic how your spirit soars, once you feel his hand in yours, that's how it that's how it starts two unsuspecting hearts" we both sing together
And Josie hugs Cheryl
The next day I watch as v and Betty sing and dance on stage
"Okay Veronica I am obsessed with everything that just happened" kev says
"Thank you it helps to be off book and in full costume" v says I sat next to Jughead in the audience watching Betty chuckles at her saying this
"Don't be so modest, you are the literal embodiment of Chris never has a role been so perfectly type cast" Betty says
"Jug, uh oh" I mumble to him I stand up and walk over in case I have to back Betty up in a fight.
"Betty" Archie says
"What was that Betty" v asks I jump up on the stage and walk up next to Betty.
"I mean think about it, spoiled rich girl, check major daddy issues check bad to the bone trying to control everyone around her including her boyfriend and best friend check check check" Betty says walking slower to v and I stay right behind Betty.
After rehearsals v storms up to me with fangs, sweet pea and Toni
"You let her speak to me that way" v says mad at me
"All I heard was the truth, I was only there to back Betty if you tried to hit her the way you hit Reg" I say
"So you would have backed her up but not your sister?" She asks me
"I back my own she is my own" I say pulling my shirt down showing my snake tattoo.
She gasp at seeing it "you joined?" She asked me
"Yeah a long time ago but honestly I'm sick of hiding it, I'm happy about it" I say "I will back you up if your in the right v but right now your not" I say and she storms off
"Are you sure about this?" Sweet pea asks me
"No turning back now she's probably on the phone with my dad right now" I say laughing "I'm done hiding it, I love that I'm a serpent you guys are my family" I say to them
"Come on fangs" I say and we go back inside after our break and Archie and Betty are doing their love song.
After Betty talks to me about forgiving v and I agree and find v
"Hey can we talk?" I ask her "yeah?" She asks me
"Your my sister v I'm sorry I haven't been acting like much of one lately, can you forgive me? I get why you stand with mom and dad and I support you even if I don't support them" I say and she smiles and hugs me
"I missed you" I say to her "I missed you too" she says back
The next day it turns out Cheryl is being recast Because of her evil mother.
Toni goes off to comfort her
And midge gets the role since she's the understudy
We all sat in the audience I sat behind fangs and Kevin next to moose
Midge was up on stage as Alice sang her song
I lean up to see what fangs was writing and he moved away so I couldn't see so I lightly hit his arm. Which made him chuckle
Alice begged Betty not to leave her at the end of her song and then ran out so Betty followed
"There is so much drama in Theater I am so happy I joined kev" I say leaning in between the two on the table kev looked at me a sighed and fangs laughed.
Later we get the programs and kev tells us to make sure we get them signed on opening night.
I get ready and dressed in the back as it's opening night
Sweet pea brings me roses in the back
"Your gonna do great baby" He says to me and I kiss him he then goes and takes his seat
"10 minutes til places" kev yells through the hallway I get pulled aside by Jughead
"I just found cut up magazines in Ethel's trash" he says
"Whoa meaning she's the one-" I start off
"That's what I'm thinking yeah" Jughead says
I go into the dressing room with my friends
They are doing warm up exercises
"What a to-do to die today at two minutes or two til two, a thing distinctly hard to say, but harder still to do" we all say and end up laughing at messing up a bit
"Chuck" v says "let me speak for the whole gang when I say that your behavior throughout rehearsals have been nothing short of that of a proper Victorian gentleman" v says
"Um what does that mean?" Chuck asks
"Your pariahship is officially over" v says then chic leans up against the door
"Hey Betty" he says smiling and looks at me "the snake girl with the knife, crazy hot by the way" he says and winks at me and I groan and walk over to chuck and lean against the cupboard he was also leaning on
"Chic" Betty says standing up "you made it" she says
"Of course I wouldn't miss this for the world" he says
"5 min til places people" we hear kev yell
"You should get back to your seat, chic your not really allowed to be backstage." Betty said
"No problem" he says "break a leg sis" he finishes and walks away
Then it was show time. Alice was the first up
We were all listening to her and watching her from the back.
In the middle of her song when she tells Carrie to come out the curtain comes up midge was dead. In her blood a message was written "I am back from the dead all those who escaped me before will die b.h"
I cover my mouth as tears pool in my eyes
"Help her" Cheryl screams Alice turns around and screams everyone starts running
I find sweet pea in the back "are you ok?" He asks me and I just hug him
