It was now the summer. In between working at the diner and trying to get Archie out of jail and serpent work. And fixing a motorcycle up with sweetpea and fangs so I could ride My schedule was packed. Betty has taken the lead on working with McCoy and Archie's mom trying to find a way to get him out.

We sat in the court room sweet pea held my hand as I sat with Josie

(Josie and sweet peas fling didn't happen in this)

Archie was being tried for a murder he didn't commit. My father set him up.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, the evidence and testimony that was presented in this court tell a dark story. That mr Andrew's has a history of violent behavior" the prosecutor starts I squeeze sweet peas hand getting angry and her words that weren't in anyway true.

"That he started not one, but two masked vigilante groups. That he assaulted an innocent boy who was helpless with two broken legs. That he went wilding in the southside of town and threatened to shoot a young man in the face." She says I look at sweet pea who raised our hands to his mouth and he lightly kissed my hand and held our hands to his face.

"That while partying with his friends in the town of shadow lake, mr Andrew's ran into the woods and shot the victim, Cassidy bullock, point blank in the head. Now mr Andrew's claims that it was his girls friends fathers doorman who shot mr bullock a shot mr Andrew's claims to have heard but not seen. Who knows the truth of what happened that terrible night in the woods near shadow lake? I'll tell you who. That man" she says and point to arch

"Archie Andrew's may be a varsity athlete and he may be a sensitive musician. But he is also a cold blooded killer" she finishes

Archie's mom stands up to say her defense

"Ladies and gentlemen, we know for a fact that Archie Andrew's constantly puts the needs of others ahead of his own. We know he helped to solve the murder of Jason blossom. We know that he offered both friends and enemies shelter when they had nowhere else to stay. We know that he punched through a river of ice to save the life of his classmate Cheryl blossom. Let me remind you that there were no witnesses to the actual killing. There was no murder weapon. There was no motive. At the end of the day, all the prosecution has is cloudy testimony from unreliable people. Now it is my solemn duty as a mother to protect my son. But as an attorney, it's my duty to adhere to the facts, to the evidence. There is nothing here that proves that Archie Andrew's is anything less than an innocent boy. Thank you" his mom says and then sits down

"Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, the charge is first degree murder. You may retire to begin your deliberations" the judge says and hits his mallet dismissing everyone

"All rise" the bailiff says so we all stand up

We go out and stand with Fred and Mary

"You were great in there, Mary" Fred says
"Thank you Fred it's only the most important case of our lives" she says

"You were amazing mrs Andrew's really" Betty says
"If anyone can get him out of this it's you mrs Andrew's" I say

"Betty, Avery your guys help over the summer was a godsend" she says

"That was mostly Betty I tried when I could though" I say
"You balanced so much you did great" Betty says to me
V comes up to us "have you guys seen Archie?" She asks

We go and try to find him we find him on the stairs

"Archie there you are" v says as we go up to him
