A Fresh Start

Adaptation

I went straight to my apartment to unpack some things, i haven't get the chance to unpack my stuff, my flat arent that big and fancy, i just need a place to stay close by to my office, and thankgod there's still a room available. I knew that this descision is not wise at all, but im sure it's for the best, i also change my  phone number because i still can't stand talking to Harry or Ginny, I still need some time alone.

Shit, i haven't get the chance to do some grocery shoping, my fridge is still empty. Very well then, i need to get some food. I went to the nearest supermarket from my apartment, i just grab a few things quick.

After i'm done with everything, i'm kinda struggling with carrying my groceris, it's so intimidating with the fact that i can't use my magic like i used to. Theese plastic bags are heavy as hell. It took around 30 minutes for me to carry those bags. In fact, it only took 5 minutes from my apartment to the supermarket.

I need a lot of adaptation in the muggle world, even though i was born from this world, i grew up in the wizzarding world from the age of 11 until now. I arrived at my apartment after sunset, i unpacked my stuffs and starting to put my food to the fridge and continuing unpacking the rest of my stuff. Even though my suitcase seems small, but trust me i brought a lot of stuffs inside it. Ever since after the war, i moved with the Weaselys ever since.

I accidently brought a picture of me, Harry and Ron during our probably 1st or 2nd year at hogwarts, i shouldn't bring this thing up, but i cannot just forget Harry, even though i want to get Ron out of my life, i cant just forget as if our friendship for 7 years never exists. I miss Harry, I miss Ginny, I miss Mom, so much. FUck, this makes my feeling's unstable, it makes me even more confused whether i made the right descision by leaving.

But no, this was the right descision and for the best, i am not going back for now, i need to heal. I promise i will be coming back as soon as i can deal with my own  sadness.

I went to my office the next day. I Can't believe it's been a year and a half i stayed here, and yes, it means a year and a half being in the same room as Malfoy and thank god i haven't had any thoughts of killing Malfoy for a year and a half, we pretty much only talk if it's necessary or work-related stuffs. Other than that, the room was in complete silence, thank god he hasn't annoy me after i confronted him on my first day of work. That really helps. But honestly, as much as i hate him, and if anyone asks I'll deny it, I'm really impressed with his performance here. I mean, for someone who graduated from a Wizarding school where we learn potions, defense against the dark arts, herbology, divination, charms, and so on -- and for someone who hates muggles a lot, he really seems passionate in his work. He has a lot of campaign ideas that works and has impressed the boss a lot, he's very critical, he's a good communicator to stakeholders, a good public speaker and seem to know a lot about marketing and economics. He also easily made friends and became really close with his colleagues.  I on the other hand sometimes still looked clueless and had a lot to catch on. But no shit, Malfoy and I has always get top grades among others.

But, As always, i'm early, it's been my habit since i  was still in Hogwarts you know. I started to tidy some of the things on my table and doing my work. Half hour later i saw a blonde figure coming inside the room. Uhh Malfoy, always last minute with his hands full of his belongings and of course his hands on the phone, such an unorganized person, i can tell because it's been his habit since Hogwarts.

"You're early as always Granger" He tried to at least be nice since what happened on the other day.

"Old habits die hard apperently" i scoffer

"Come on Granger why are you still being so annoying"

"Huh?" I asked

"It's been a year, come on, at least stop being annoying and lets have a fresh start, you know by being friends"

"In your dreams, Malfoy. I'm not friends with you"

"See? You're being annoying" he laughed

"What? I'm not being annoying. It's a fact Malfoy"

"Yes you are" He giggles a little. It was actually the first time i saw him laughing but in some sort of pure way? I usually saw him laughing after mocking and bullying some kids.

"What's so funny"

"You"

"Look i'm trying to concentrate on my work Malfoy"

"You can't because we need to work together as a team, right? That's what partners are for" He laughed

"Just shut up and let me do my work, Malfoy"

"Fine Bossy pants"
