There's a knock on the door and a nurse asks for Logan. Logan gets up and follows her for x-rays, an appointment with the orthopedic specialist, and recovery therapy.

The doctor comes in and sits down at the table, across from Scorpia. "Good afternoon Scorpia. I have some things to talk to you about. And I hope you will give me a chance to explain how difficult it is for an old doctor like me to stray from methods we've been doing for years."

She smiles at the doctor and says: "I understand doctor. No matter how helpless I felt with the high dose of sedatives in my blood, I understand you had to act fast, to prevent me from losing myself entirely. It's a way to stop the mental war before the patient disappears into the shadows forever."

The doctor stares at her with open mouth and she smiles at him patiently.

The brothers and Ricardo get up and walk out of the room to give them some privacy.

The doctor asks: "Since when are you speaking this well?"

"Since a few minutes ago to be honest. You have excellent timing."

The doctor smiles at her and says: "I have compiled a list of questions I would like to go through with you. I would like to know how it all was for you, how it felt. To learn from it and to see if we can develop a method that doesn't just exists of drugging someone and pushing them further into the dark side of their mind."

She looks him dead in the eye and says: "I would really appreciate it if you would think about the possibility that drugging someone could make matters worse. And I think Ricardo's an excellent advocate for future patients. I'll gladly answer all your questions, but I need to know that this is not just for you personally. That it will be used on a larger scale, to help people better in the future."

The doctor stares at her again and softly says: "It all revolves around money. We need to find someone willing to finance the research and everything that comes with it. And Ricardo would be perfect, he is studying to become a psychiatrist right now. While he keeps working here because he wants to stay in touch with his patients."

The doctor rubs his hands uncomfortably and says: "He has expressed from the very start that drugging you was not the solution. He slammed his fist on the table during one of our meetings and said we were pushing you further into the shadows with the high dose of sedatives we were giving you. And that you weren't suicidal, that you wanted to be with Logan more than anything. That we were stupid if we didn't use that to get you back. That we should never lose sight of what the patient really wants."

Scorpia smiles wide and sends a message to Dino on her phone. She looks up at the doctor and says: "Let go of the guilt doctor. We can't change the past. We can only learn from our mistakes and do better from now on. You've found yourself a patient willing to talk about her experiences and who's willing to fight for other patients. On one condition..."

The doctor is intrigued and nods at her to encourage her to go on. "Ricardo leads the research. If you can promise me that, then the finances are sorted."

The doctor smiles carefully and says: "Deal. Can I still be part of that research team though?"

Scorpia says: "I'm fine with that. But it's up to Ricardo. I do think your connections will come in handy. I've just sent Dino a message and he and Ciro will sit down with you later. Because I will have a lot of money to spend soon, but I don't know the first thing about contracts and things like that."
