-Chapter 72

"Alright. I won't be bringing Kairi along since she is busy doing something I told her to do. I'll bring her along next time, I promise," he tells me. Aw, that's nice of him to say. I want to see her.

"I understand."

Time to meet up with Isamu.

I place my coffee cup down and look at Isamu as he stares at me a bit nervously. Did he do something to be nervous? Did he tell Gai something he shouldn't have about me?

"Before you start freaking out on the inside, Mari, it isn't about Gai. I haven't gone to that man about anything since he sees me as a stray dog," Isamu tells me, answering my mental questions. He must know how I feel right now since he knows what Allen did to me. "Besides, I don't think he's very fond of me and I am not very fond of him." 

I nod my head. "Thanks..." When did he get to call him a stray dog? 

I wouldn't normally be so on edge about Gai, but I am afraid of what he'll be doing in the future. I hardly know him and what he is truly capable of. I know that he made the Ark and it hates humans, which is why Horobi and Jin became loyal followers of the Ark. He also has to do with everything that has happened to me so far, which is just plain scary to think about.

"I told Aruto that Horobi is alive," Isamu says, dropping what he asked me to be here to talk to him about. He...he did what now?

"What?" I gasp. "Why would you do that Isamu?" 

"I had to tell him about the Raidrisers," Isamu states. "I had no choice but to bring it up to him. One interrupted the competition and destroyed a house. I believe MetsubouJinrai is still out there and he had to know about it." So, he thinks he had to do that? He could have said some anonymous source provided him with information on those things. 

Great! This is just great! Aruto knows that Horobi is alive and well now. I can't believe that this is happening to me now after I just got with Aruto. Sheesh! Why does everything go wrong for me?

"I don't see the problem here." He doesn't understand it does he? Gosh, why is he so dense sometimes?

"It isn't a good thing that he knows. Horobi might brag about placing the moves on me to Aruto." And I can't have him doing that. Aruto will back off and Horobi will get his way. "Isamu, this is serious."

"And I don't see the problem with that." Isamu looks away, picking up his coffee and taking a long sip of it. He swallows it and puts it down. "It isn't like you and Aruto are an item. So, it isn't a problem, right?" Is he really that oblivious? 

"It is just...Aruto has a crush on me and I don't need him freaking out if Horobi says what he did," I tell Isamu, lying. I can't tell him what I've been doing or else it'll somehow get to Gai. I don't want to be punished by Gai.

Isamu laughs. "Really? That is what you're worried about? Mari, I-

"I know it doesn't seem like something reasonable to be worried about, but I am worried about it. I don't know how he'll take it." I am worried that he'll think I wanted to have that kiss with Horobi since I didn't really do anything to stop it. I sort of just sat there in shock from it.

Horobi just really went for it and I didn't see it coming. He just did it. He did it without really thinking of the consequences of his robot actions. I'm pretty sure that he never will since he seemed pretty happy about how it went for him.

"Mari, it isn't like you should be worried about that getting out. I won't let it get out," Isamu tells me, trying to assure me that it'll stay a secret. "No one is going to find out about it at all. I don't know how anyone could find out about it. There is no one but us who knows about it and A.I.M.S., but we have no reason to look at the tape." So, it is on tape too? Just wonderful!
