We arrive at the bakery and see loads of people waiting already.
Wow peeta wasn't lying when he said it was busy.
I guess everyone loves his bread.
Well I can't complain since I'm always asking for cheese buns.
"We will be two minutes everyone." peeta smiles opening the doors.
Everyone smiles back nodding their heads.
I guess they're just excited to come inside.
We enter and Peeta takes willow and noah out of their pushchair.
He sets them in a playpen behind the counter.
He set this up a few weeks ago incase willow and noah came to the bakery.
It's quite useful since they can play while peeta works but this is the first time they have used it.
Unless it's serious I won't leave peeta to work with two babies under his feet anyway.
Peeta smiles at me before opening the door and everyone rushes in waiting in line.
Peeta serves pretty quick and most people pay, thank peeta and leave.
A few people sit inside to eat cheese buns they have ordered.
I hear the bell ring and I look up before looking away worried.
"Peeta look." I mumble nudging him.
He looks at me confused before looking up to see who has entered.
"It's okay." he says meaning to the fact Skylar is now in the bakery.
"Hi peeta." she smiles putting her hands on the bench top
"Hi" he says trying to be polite.
I know he's uncomfortable because of the things I told him that she said to me be the way he is standing.
"So I came to ask you something" she says leaving on the counter so she's closer to peeta.
Peeta steps back before looking at her.
"And what's that?" He asks before putting his hand on top of mine which is starting to shake.
I don't know why but just her presence makes me sacred.
Not just for me but for my family.
My children are playing in the room.
"Do you want to go on a date with me?" she asks hopefully fluttering her eye lashes.
So she's just as my husband to go out with her right in front of me.
So that's how she wants to play?
Peeta gives her a funny look before answering.
"Skylar I'm married and you have a boyfriend" peeta says looking angry.
"I'm not with gale, I don't love him." She says blankly.
Oh yeah I forgot to tell peeta about that part.
"Well I'm sorry but you will have to find someone else because I'm not interested nor will I ever be." he says pulling me closer to him.
"What have you done to him?" She asks glaring at me.
"I haven't done anything." I say calmly.
"Well you have because if you hadn't he'd be all over me by now and he would of forgot about you ages ago." she says catching me off gard.
"Actually skylar even if I was free I still wouldn't go with you because you do nothing but insult people." peeta says making me smile widely.
She looks shocked before answering.
"I could give you so much more." she says licking her lips.
"Well I don't want anymore because I'm happily married and I have two children and nothing is going to change that." he says rubbing my back.
"I could change that, I mean you picked her over me a ugly seam brat." she says getting louder.
A few people turn to look a us but turn away again.
"I only met you last week so I never picked katniss over you, there's a difference I love katniss and I have done since I was five, she's not ugly nor a brat, she's beautiful and amazing" he says and I can feel the heat rise to my cheeks.
Although I'm angry that skylar is ruining my day I can help it when my heart flutters when peeta sticks up for me.
Skylar looks at me now angry and when I mean angry she looks furious.
She leans across the counter and slaps me hard across the cheek before I or anyone can stop her.
That did it.
"You should leave now before I call a peacekeeper to take you away." peeta says getting angry by the second.
"That won't be necessary." I hear a voice, one so familiar.
I turn to see a angry looking Gale not far behind Skylar.
"Gale honey." Skylar says trying to cover it up.
"Don't honey me, I heard everything starting from you using me." he says walking closer.
"I was joking" she says laughing as if this was funny.
"Get out, you have some explaining to do." gale says opening the door.
Skylar looks at me once more then peeta before turning away
Gale leaves without another word obviously angry.
I rest my head on Peetas shoulder and he runs my arm softly.
"Are you okay?" He asks turning to face me.
"Apart from the mark that may have appeared, I'm great" I say looking at him
Peeta rubs my cheek before leaning in to kiss me.
"She's gone now, there's no way she'll come back." he smiles that smile that always makes me return it.
"Thank you for today." I say thankfully.
"It's what I'm here for." he replies hugging me close to his warm body.
Today might not have been as great as I wanting it to.
But in the end it's come out even better.
I've still got peeta and our babies and Skylar won't be coming back.
"I love you katniss" he whispers into my hair.
"I love you to" i answer resting my head on his shoulder.
