Alice: If I may, Lady Pontifex. Knight Commander Bercouli and Vice Commander Fanatio shared concerns of the Dark Territory Invasion, I share those concerns as well. So what do you plan to do to protect the people if the Knights fail? That's not all. You've taken us from our wives and husbands, our brothers and sisters, and stolen our memories. Then implanted false memories of being from a non-existent heavenly realm! Why couldn't you at least trust in our loyalty and respect for you?! Why subject our souls to such a abhorrent ritual to force us into submission?!

Mav: Ah Little Alice. You gotta understand how a person like this operates. A person who has lost their humanity in exchange for indulging in their desires, A person who has a fake smile on their face at all times, and where every conversation is meant to manipulate and use that other person for their own gain. She can try to deny it all she wants but she'll say that those little prismatic devices in your heads is a sign of her trust and love. Trust me this is villainy 101. Am I wrong Quinella?

Quinella: You put words in my mouth, boy. All I'm doing is making sure they perform their tasks like good little knights. When they have no memories, they have no pain, no fear, no emotion. Just like a good soldier should be. Those emotions you're feeling? I'll make sure to erase those painful memories of yours, Alice. Turn you back into a nice little knight for me to use.

Eugeo gripped his scabbard in anger as Alice stood there sword pressed into the ground with tears running down her eye.

Alice: No thanks. This pain, this anger, these emotions I've never experienced before. They make me realize what it is to be human. So you can take your little "fixing" and shove it!

Alice pointed her sword towards Quinella face full of resolve.

Quinella: Sadly, you don't have a choice. Once I synthesize you, I'll erase all your emotions.

Mav: Like you did yourself?

Quinella: Hey, thought I told you not to bring up the past, boy?

Mav: Like it or hate it, the past is the past. You can't change it nor can you run from it. Believe me, I always seem to run into people who live in the past. As far as I'm concerned, you were born a mere mortal like the rest of us. Which means under all that armor, you're still just a mortal. Not some almighty being that you act like. I can see you got a Christmas list of mistakes but that makes you human.

Quinella: You know boy, you slander me so but I don't sense hostility from you. Why is that?

Mav: I'm not one to hold grudges. I think that your actions are fucking stupid but that doesn't make me hate someone. And I like said before, I'm trying to avoid conflict. To be honest, I don't care what happens to this world, it's not my problem. And with the way things are going they'll probably reset the world. The only person that I truly care about in this world is Eugeo. And Kirito but he doesn't count since he's an outsider like me. But Eugeo cares about this world same as Alice so even if I want to or not, I'm stuck helping this world.  And right now, we don't stand a snowball's chance in hell against the dark territories. Don't know about you Quinella, but I prefer to be on the winning side.

Mav looked to the roof and pointed his sword towards the roof.

Mav: Plus, there's the leads on the project. With the press of a button, you cease to exist. Sure they may lose some money but it's better than dealing with a pompous and arrogant A.I. who thinks she's the perfect entity.

Quinella: Bold words. And are you aware of the higher powers in your world? The ones you created your world? That you strive to do only what would please those higher authorities, so they won't reset your world?
