I was so ready to get this weekend over with. My lack of motivation to go to this boring family reunion in Seattle almost made me late for my flight. Fortunately to Unfortunately I made it just in time for boarding the flight. Since I was in first class it was easy to find my seat. I put my carry on in the bunk above my seat. There was already someone sitting in the aisle seat next me. I kindly excused myself so I can sit down.
"Hi" the guy setting next to me speaks to me.
"Hi...I'm Y/n" I said introducing myself to the person I'll be sitting to for the next 5 1/2hours.
"Nice to meet you Y/n I'm Ansel." He said & I recognized who he was. He's from the movie fault in our stars. Wow he really is perfect in person. That movie was just perfect....well it had a sad ending but it was still great.
"Nice meeting you too" I said with a smile. I opted in just playing it cool. The captain came on the intercom & spoke. We then went through all the safety procedures as usual. We were finally taking off. I always get nervous on take off. I took a deep breathe and exhaled. Once we were finally in the air balanced I relaxed.
"Are you ok?" Ansel asked in full concerned
"I'm better....I always get nervous on take off." I said justifying my intense energy
"What that's the best part feeling yourself getting lifted up in the air it's fun" he said just making conversation
"I have a fear of heights I can't " I said simply with a shy laugh
"How often do you fly?" He asked
"I fly but not often as I'm sure you do" I said simply
"What makes you think I fly often?" He asked curiously trying to play like I don't know who he is
"Your Ansel elgort you are a phenomenal actor I'm sure you have a busy schedule...I bet your flying to go to a shoot or something now" I said
"Ok you got me & yes I am. & thanks" Ansel
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to be annoying or anything " I said simply thinking that I might be annoying
"You are not annoying . Were talking you know...having a conversation" he said with a smile. I just smiled and looked away.
We sat in silence for a moment then he broke it.
"I'm sorry I'm awkward" he said with a shy laugh
"I'm sorry I'm awkward too" I said laughing because I get so shy so easily
We both laughed a bit
"I guess we can be awkward together for 5 1/2 hours " he said he laughed.
"Well let's be awkward then" i said wearing out this awkward word were using
"So are you from California?" he asked me awkwardly trying to talk to me.
"No I moved here with my older sister. From Georgia" I said & he followed back
"So You have a sister I have a sister too her name is Sophie " Ansel said with a smile confirming we have something in common to make this less awkward.
"My sister's name is Kayla were 3 years apart & I have an older brother his name is Lance & then there's me the youngest." I said
"Hey I have a older brother too & I'm the youngest too" Ansel said
"Is it safe to say we are best friends now & we don't have to be awkward anymore?" I asked jokingly
"We are going to be the best best friends." Ansel making us both laugh.
So we talked a lot about ourselves. We got to know each other & we watched a movie & everything. He's really funny & very kind hearted. When we were going through turbulences I was scared & i kinda instantly held on to his arm like a child cuddles a teddy bear. He didn't mind at all though. In fact he placed his other hand on my arm to firm. I instantly felt safe. It's crazy how that happens but I'm just a sucker for a cute guy who has a great personality & a good heart going on his way to make me feel safe. Not every girl especially me being one of them gets the good fortune of this. Some guys would just be like stop let go of me or try & take it far & violate your space. But Ansel he wasn't that guy.
When we landed I kinda already had this preconceived notion that once we get off the plane none of this will matter or even happen. It sucks but hey that's show biz right.
Once we got off and into the airport. We walked together but since I had luggage to get & he only had a carry on this is where we would part ways.
"It was really nice meeting Ansel" I said simply
"Hey I thought we are going be best friends remember? Why did you say it like that" Ansel asked.
"I didn't mean it the way it came out..i mean " I led on to say but I stopped because I was at lost for words & then we were silent until he broke it.
"Y/n I really think you are a nice girl...& I was kind of hoping if I can take you out sometime...to hang out & like see each other again when your not busy & when I'm not I mean if that's ok with you?" Ansel said shocking me because I did not expect him to take a serious liking into me. Yes I say this now but I wasn't saying that earlier & what because I just can't find it in me to set myself up for that you know....disappointment..most celebs & stars are just you know not what we all think & make them out to be.
"Id like to hang with you again..your pretty cool" I said with a smile. A short sweet & simple answer will suffice.
"Great...i need your number so we can stay in contact & hey while were in the same city we can find time to hang out again" Ansel said relieved.
We exchanged numbers & gave each other a hug. He's a great hugger....he's very tall too & very strong. He's pretty fit. We said until next time I'll see you soon. I hope wherever this goes it turns out good in the end.
