chapter 5: special guest

"I know I told you I had some work to finish after the show but I wanted you to meet someone." He stepped aside to reveal the A-list actress behind him that his mom and sister both adored for the longest time.

Suddenly, Crystal fell shy in front of his parents. But still she pulled Karen in a hug like they've known each other forever. "Hi, I'm Crystal."

"Im Karen. Im Shawn's mom. Its really lovely to finally meet you, dear." When they pulled apart Karen didn't let go of her hands and instead excitedly pulled her into the house.

"Aaliyah! Look who's here!" She yelled.

Aaliyah gasped quietly and jumped off her bed knowing who's home. "Is Shawn home, mom?" She asked already knowing the answer as she raced down the stairs as fast as she could.

She let out a little squeal when she caught sight of her big brother at the bottom of the stairs. Pretty sure she skipped at least three steps of stairs to jump into Shawn's arms, who squeezed her equally tight.

She hasn't spotted Crystal who admired the sight of the two siblings. "Theres someone I want you to meet." Shawn whispered in Aaliyah's ear as they hugged. "Aaliyah, this is Crystal. Crystal this is my little sister, Aaliyah."

Aaliyah gasped again seeing her favorite celebrity since childhood in front of her. She stood there frozen for a few seconds before Crystal made the first move and pulled the girl into a hug. "Its nice to meet you, love. I've heard all about you! Shawn talks about you a lot." Crystal sent her a quick wink when they pulled apart.

"Probably not as much as he talks about you though!" Aaliyah joked and Shawn choked in his own spit.

Crystal looked at him to see his face beet red as he tackled Aaliyah lightly in attempt to shut her up.

"Let me introduce you to Shawn's dad." Karen said to Crystal seeing that the siblings were preoccupied. And so, she called for him and a man entered the room.

Crystal introduced herself and stuck out a hand for him to shake which he did with a big smile.

They invited her to dinner and afterwards they watched Christmas movies on the couch. They were all having a great time and after 2 full movies have passed Crystal was fighting sleep and trying her hardest not to fall asleep on Shawn's family. She rested her head on Shawn's shoulder who sat rather closely to her as they shared a blanket.

"Is she asleep Shawn?" Karen asked when she looked over at them on their third movie of the night.

"I think so mom. She's exhausted. She flew from New York and went to my show right away."

"Does she have a hotel? She can sleep in the guest room, honey." She replied

"I forgot to even ask her. She mentioned that she'll be filming a show here in Toronto. She cant stay in a hotel for months can she?" Shawn asked and all of them shrugged. He thanked his mum for letting her sleep in the guest room then looked at his watch to see that it was nearly 12 midnight.

"I'll wake her and show her the guest room and I'll head to bed myself." He announced.

"Crys? Crys how 'bout you go rest in the guest room for tonight, hun?" Shawn whispered to Crystal brushing hair away from her face delicately.

Crystal opened her eyes and smiled at Shawn. "Did I fall asleep? Oh I'm sorry!" She said as she stretched. She thanked Shawn's family for letting her stay before she watched Shawn press a kiss on each of his family member's foreheads and bid them a good night.

Shawn and Crystal went upstairs to the bedrooms his hand pressed on her lower back as he led her to the guest room.

Once on the door Shawn spoke first. "Had a good day?"

Crystal had to look up to meet Shawn's eyes and she smiled. "Yeah. Thanks for tonight. I already love your family." They stood there for a sec smiling at each other. No one wanting the night to end. Until, Crystal snorted rather loudly and laughed making Shawn laugh.

Crystal Paige is such an interesting girl. He said in his head but said "what?" He rested an arm on the wall on top of Crystal's head.

Crystal pointed at the top of the door frame. When Shawn looked up, he too realized that they were standing under a mistletoe. Shawn laughed but his cheeks turned red.

Crystal burned red as well but felt like she would regret it in the morning if she didn't do what she was about to do. She stood on her tippy toes gently grabbed Shawn's jaw with one hand and leaned closer to press a lingering open-mouthed kiss on Shawn's jaw dangerously close to the corner of his lips.

Shawn had unconsciously closed his eyes when Crystal kissed him. His mouth pulled into a boyish smirk, knowing exactly what Crystal is doing.

When they pulled away Crystal was smirking as well laughed a little and letting out a snort. Shawn shook his head and just said "Good night Crys. You can start getting ready. I'll grab your suitcase from my car."

Crystal didn't say anything only nodded and slipped in the room still with a smirk on her face.

Shawn shook his head again with a silly smile on his face, cheeks burning as he went to get the suitcase.

The two sort of knew each other well from texting in the past month. But, now that they are actually physically together everyone , not even themselves, can't deny that they have been flirting with one another since she got to Toronto.

What was you guys' favorite Christmas present you received?

also who else loves reign?? thats what i kind of meant when shawn puts his arm on the wall on top of Crystal's head

And yes Crys is pronounced as Chris
