Chapter 42 - North Wing

Time: 6:00 PM (Sunday)

Sumunod kami kay Harold at pumasok sa main headquarters building ng Aquinas Island. Dumaan kami sa ilang series of tests para malaman kung infected kami ng Z Virus. Hiwalay ang babae at lalaki kaya kami ni Sav ang magkasama. Pagkatapos ng test, they asked us to take a bath at magbihis.

"You are both cleared. Please follow me," sabi ng isang military doctor sa amin ni Sav.

"Saan po tayo pupunta?" tanong ko sa doctor habang naglalakad kami papunta sa roofdeck ng building.

"Both of you are high priority subjects. You will be transferred to Alexius Island. A chopper is waiting for you."

High priority? Dahil ba daddy ni Jordan si General Regalado? Or dahil daddy ni Herschel ang head ng RAD (Research and Development) Team?

Pag akyat namin sa helipad, napansin ko na si Herschel at si Jordan na nasa loob ng chopper. Silang dalawa lang ang nandoon pero wala si Kio. Mabilis kaming sumakay ng chopper at di ko na magawang magtanong dahil sa ingay ng sasakyan.

Nagulat na lang ako ng biglang hinawakan ni Herschel ang kamay ko. I looked at him, pero tahimik lang siya na nakapikit.

May kiss sa underground sewer tapos holding hands sa helicopter? Mag jowa lang?

Ilang minuto kami nag travel sa air at lumapag ang chopper sa isang malawak na field sa gitna ng island. Ito na siguro ang Alexius Island. Unlike Aquinas Island na isang malaking isla at may dambuhalang headquarters building at malalaking hangars, ang Alexius Island ay hindi gaanong kalaki.  Bumaba kami ng chopper pero di pa rin binibitawan ni Herschel ang kamay ko.

"May balak ka ba mag-explain kung bakit kanina mo pa hawak ang kamay ko?" tanong ko sa kanya habang naglalakad kami.

"You sound as if you hate it," nakangiti niyang sagot without looking at me.

"Hindi naman sa ganun. Asan ba si Kio? Bakit tayo lang ang andito?"

"He is with Harold. Kio was wearing camera and was able to capture our encounter sa Saint Thomas Port. They are currently investigating these videos and the robot-like humans in the naval ship. Unfortunately, the naval ship that we saw is now missing."

"What? Nawala na parang bula yung naval ship?"

"I am not sure pero parang ganun na nga. It seems that they were pulled out the moment Harold discovered the video loop. Relax, Sienna. We are safe now. That ship is already flagged and there are military men who are working on it now. It is not part of our scope."

Magtatanong pa sana ako nang makita ko ang isang matangkad na lalaki na sumalubong sa amin. I know this man. This is Jordan's father, General Regalado. He is a well built man and he looks very serious because of his all gray hair. Middle-aged na si General Regalado, pero bakas pa rin sa kanya ang tikas ng katawan at ang pagiging magandang lalaki. May kasama siyang isang babae na parang assistant niya.

Niyakap ni General Regalado si Jordan at kahit si Herschel. Nabanggit na ni Herschel sa amin noon na kaibigan ni General Regalado ang parents niya. Nakipag kamay naman siya sa amin ni Sav at pinapasok sa isang two storey office building. 

Tulad ng Aquinas Island, Alexius Island has series of underground floors. We stopped in the fifteenth floor na nagsisilbing office at bahay ni General Regalado. The whole floor is composed of four wings, parang north, south, east and west corridors.

"The North Wing is occupied by the first ten highest ranking officials in the military. Consider it as an underground condominium unit," sabi ni General Regalado habang naglalakad sa corridor ng North Wing.

He used his access card and a retinal scanner to open his secured door. Isang mala condominium unit nga ang tumambad sa amin. Complete ang furnishing with three bedrooms, except the whole floor is windowless.

"Dad, are you planning to imprison us here?" tanong ni Jordan sa daddy niya.

"My house will serve as your prison for the next few days. Lahat ng kailangan niyo ay andito. Che, I already informed your parents about your whereabouts, they will visit you tomorrow. Just ask my assistant, Stella if you need anything. Siya ang bahala sa pag stay niyo dito."

"Dad, ano ba talagang nangyayari? Bakit may Z Class Zombies? Bakit nawawala ang isang naval ship sa Saint Thomas Port? Why are you keeping us here?"

"This is for your own safety Jordan Caden. We are still looking for answers kaya hindi ko pa ma ibibigay ang sagot sa tanong mo. For the meantime, you have to relax kids. Leave it to the oldies. All I ask is for you to stay here. Any violent reactions?" tanong ni General Regalado. It seems like he is commanding us to stay here.

"Is Aquinas Island safe, dad? Andoon si Kio. I am worried about him."

"I can't say yes, son, but I can assure you that Alexius Island is safe. Kio will join you shortly. Sa ngayon, I trust that you will stay here and you will not do anything stupid. Jordan Caden, do you understand? Can I trust you on this?"

"Yes, dad. We will stay put here."

Nagpaalam na si General Regalado dahil kailangan daw niya bumalik sa Aquinas Island. Kahit di sabhihin sa amin ng daddy ni Jordan, we know that there is something serious is going on.
