The twenty second chapter.

"Rudra, you can't just run away like that! Maa ne itne pyaar se aapke liye daliya banaya tha!" I yelled furiously into the phone, frustration evident in my voice. (Rudra, you can't just leave like this! Mom made daliya for you with so much love!)

Rudra had rushed to the office as soon as he heard mom was cooking something special for him. Everyone knew he wasn't feeling well, so mom was trying different dishes to help him.

She made methi ki roti, pudina pani, and more, all with care to make him feel better. But Rudra didn't appreciate it at all. That spoiled brat.

"Roohi, hum busy hai, humari ek meeting hai, I'll call you later," (Roohi, I'm busy, I have a meeting, I'll call you later) he replied dismissively, his tone conveying an unapologetic sense of priorities. My head shook in disbelief at his audacity.

I slammed the phone down, thoroughly annoyed. That annoying man.

"Alright, Maa, I'll be the knight in shining armor for Mr. I'm-to-busy. I'll take the daliya to his royal highness at the office and make sure he doesn't starve," I declared, deciding to give Rudra a piece of my mind while I'm at it. Apparently, weekends were exclusively for the Rajvansh brothers' workaholic attitude.

"Yes, Roohi beta! And while you're at it, give his ears a little twist until they match the color of my red saree." Maa suggested, handing me a bag that contained a Tupperware tiffin.

"Consider it done, Maa!" I grinned, receiving a warm hug and a hair caress from her.

"Roohi beta," she said, catching my attention.

"Ji maa, kahiye," I responded, holding her hand.

"I know he puts up this front of being a small baby, and yes, he can be difficult. But it's all an act, no one really knows the real him," Maa shared, leaving me puzzled.

What does she mean?

This family is like a never-ending mystery novel, and I'm stuck on the first page.
