"Hey Rana-sa, should I get some juice for you?" Rayna Sharma practically purred, a chuckle escaping me once again. And she claims to be head over heels for my brother. Look at her acting like a damn whore.

Love is a joke.

People play at loving each other, but it's all a facade. They wait for the right moment to betray you, and then they're gone.

My parents? Never loved each other. My brother's marriage? Clearly a one-sided affair. Honestly, I doubt love even exists.

"No, he's good," Rani-sa replied firmly, causing Rayna Sharma to take a few cautious steps back. Go Rani-sa!

"We're here for something important," Rana-sa added, exchanging glances with Rani-sa before both of them turned their attention to me.

"We're here to seek the hand of your daughter, Roohi, for my younger brother, Rudra Pratap Rajvansh," he declared.

My eyes widened in disbelief. Rudra? Me and Rudra. Marriage? The idea seemed as surreal as it was shocking. Him and me? Me and him?

Shut it Roohi!

"R-Rana-sa, we don't earn much. We can't agree to the wedding; it's beyond our financial capacity," my father stammered, his words stumbling out, while I struggled to grasp the reality of the situation.

Rudra?

Rohit's family finally decided to voice their claim.

"Roohi is already engaged to my son!" His mother asserted confidently. I nonchalantly shrugged, deeming it the perfect moment to make my exit and head to Meher's house for some comforting dal makhni.

Itna zyada drama..

"Roohi," Rana-sa called out, prompting me to look up at him with a perplexed frown.

"Would you like to marry this man?" he inquired, and I responded with unfiltered honesty.

"Nahi mere ko iss chachundar ke saath shaadi nahi karna, shakal dekhi hai aapne iski!" I spoke candidly, causing Rana-sa's eyes to widen in amusement while Rani-sa let out a soft giggle before composing herself.
