Next week, I'm tying the knot with a random womanizer. Does my family show any concern? Nope. But am I bothered? Absolutely.

I refuse to let them destroy my life like this. I have aspirations, I have dreams that are worth so much more.

The thought of tying the knot with a complete jerk? That's the furthest thing from my ideal life plan.

It's infuriating to even contemplate such a fate, as I won't stand by and allow someone so toxic to hold me back from the future I envision.

I just keep staring at my laptop screen, and there it is – that super important, rather life changing email I got a day ago, finally opened.

Nervously, I find myself re-reading it repeatedly, double-checking to make sure I haven't misunderstood.

I got the job! I did it!

They loved my ideas, and working here is a dream come true for any designer. I can't give up that easily. No I won't. I'll fight. Whatever it takes.

With determination, I rushed out of the room and knocked on my brother's bedroom door.

"Hey, Bhai!" I called out, hoping he'd open the door soon.

It took a minute or so, and when he finally did, he had a scowl on his face. "What?" he asked, clearly not in the mood for interruptions, but I was too excited to care. Too shocked to care.
