"Ralph..." I started to back away, but Ralph pushed himself off the wall, his movements stilled me. I watched raptly as he closed off the distance between us. My chest rose and fell in shuddered breaths, goosebumps raising the lengths of my arms. "No, wait!"

"You did not answered my texts." As I stood there, transfixed by his mere presence, I couldn't help but be ensnared by the allure of his mysterious aura. His voice, a deep and resonant timbre, sent shivers down my spine, captivating me in its grasp. With every word that escaped his lips, it felt as though a vacuum had been created, drawing the very essence of my being towards him. The room seemed to grow dim, as if his darkness permeated the air, casting an intoxicating spell upon me.

My breath hitched, almost as if it had been stolen away by an invisible force. It was as if the tenuous link between us, formed through the exchange of words and the undeniable chemistry between us, had caused a physical reaction within me. The sound of his murmur reverberated in my ears, echoing through the depths of my soul.

I tried to find my voice, to respond to his utterances, but it seemed that his mere presence had left me spellbound, rendered me speechless. As the seconds ticked by, my lungs ached for the air that had been momentarily taken away. Yet, I couldn't tear my eyes away from his gaze, entranced by the depth and intensity I found within. It was a powerful force, a magnetic pull that left me powerless to resist.

Papa took my phone the day Stefan visited us to break the engagement. My eyes widened. Did that meant Papa read his texts? I shivered.

My back collided with the wall, Ralph did not stop until he was towering over my petite frame. He did not have me a second to ponder before his hand shot up to grab the back of my head as he yanked my face to his. His eyes raked over me, drinking in the sight, his inscrutable gaze lifted to mine.

Scarcely a moment had passed before his arms ensnared me, his lips capturing mine. He was a fierce torrent, overwhelming and irresistible, sweeping me away upon his surging waves. I yearned not to yearn for him, yet his touch was achingly enticing. The weight of his body pressed against mine, his insatiable longing pulling me in. I was defenseless, completely at his mercy. A primal sound of pleasure resonated between us as his commanding caress coaxed forth an involuntary moan from the depths of my being.

"We...can not do this if I am to marry your brother."

"Do what? This?" He rasped, his lips drifting to my jaw, down my throat. "Or this..." his large hand drifting down my ribs, over my hip, then to my thigh where he coaxed my legs apart. I didn't fight him, I couldn't but my heart began to jackhammer in my chest. A part of my body was now open to him, only shielded by a thin layer of lace fabric.

His gaze remained locked on where he touched me, his hand slowly caressing the inside of my thigh higher and higher but stopping just short of where my body screamed for his touch. "You want me as much as I want you, topolìno. Don't deny what we have between us. This fire, this thirst. Don't tell me you don't feel the same about me."

He slid one finger beneath the elastic edge of the panties, his voice jagged as a cliff's edge, raw and unguarded. When my eyes opened, I gasped at the violent need staring back at me. Like the last vestiges of his humanity clung by a thread.

"Ralph..." I panted against him, clutching his biceps tightly. He let out a deep chuckle.

"I wonder how wet you are, Rara. Fuck. You're ready."

My lips parted in an objection, but his hand came to rest over my mouth, his head slowly turning side to side as a devious smile perched on his lips.

Then my brain short-circuited when his other hand slid fully beneath my panties and cupped my womanhood. I didn't remember my name, let alone what I'd planned to say. Not when one long, scalding finger dipped inside me, then spread my arousal up to my clit and back down. I'd already been writhing with more electric need than I'd ever felt before. The addition of his touch nearly made me see stars.

I forgot everything. Including the wedding—

Wedding. The hypnotic feeling vanished almost immediately. A raw surge of adrenaline rushed through my veins as I writhed in his arms. "N-no!"

"Why not?" He grunted. "You're a virgin?"

One hand still pressed to my mouth, Ralph fingered me with lavish, seductive strokes, building and teasing my restless flesh. My body arched and pleaded with his movements. When my chest pressed outward, lifting my back clean off the wall, he used his teeth to graze my nipple over the fabric of the dress I wore. The sting sent an electric pulse directly to my clit like a flame devouring a fuse. When the spark reached my core, my body ignited with blinding pleasure.

Just as the liquid elation devoured me, he lifted his hand away from my mouth at precisely the right moment to allow a primal cry of release to burst past my lips. It was as though the energy inside me was too great to contain and had escaped in the form of sound, and Ralph had set it all into motion, knowing exactly what would happen.

The cry echoed in my head, drowning out even my ragged breaths and racing heart.

Realization and panic chased away the remnants of my orgasm like angry dogs scenting a hare.

"...I..." Warm tears stung my eyes. What have I done? He must have sensed the difference, for he cupped my jaw and made me face him. His eyes narrowed on mine. I jerked my head away from his grip, hating myself even more. "I have been saving myself for my future husband....The man who I'd love. You're not my husband, Ralph, or the man I love. I think we should end this—" his lips swallowed my words. The softness I wanted transformed into raw savage fury. His hands were impatient, almost as if he wanted to ravage me. My breathing was quicker as I struggled to breathe.

"Ralph!" My muffled voice died when his lips descend my throat and he bit there, hard. I yelped. "No!" But he was far from listening, he left several marks on my neck, and by the time he was done, I felt my chest tightening.

"What are you doing?" I breathed, my eyes going wide.

I held perfectly still, my lungs not even daring to draw breath.

A door squeaked in the hall followed by Tobias's concerned voice. "Rara?"

I launched into motion, shoving Ralph off me.

"You have to get out. You have to leave!" I hissed, succumbing to the panic clawing at my insides. My eyes darted wildly to my closed bedroom door before cutting back to Ralph when I realized he was refusing to budge.

"Tomorrow, my house, promise me you'll be there," he demanded, with no trace of remorse.

Had I not been so overwhelmed with distress about Tobias hearing me, I would have been overwhelmed, but my thoughts were too scattered for the emotion to take purchase.

"You need to go, now!" I slammed my hands against his chest, tears burning the backs of my eyes.

"Rara? Are you in here?" Tobias called softly through the door.

My chest hitched on a sob, frustration like a vice tight around my chest. "Okay, you win. I will come, just leave. Please." This time, he allowed me to shove him toward the cubicle, his brows knitting tight in the growing tension as though he meant to manipulate me but hadn't counted on such a visceral reaction on my part.

A gentle knock sounded at the door as I ushered Ralph into the cubicle. As I raised my hands to close the door, all signs of victory in Ralph's stare bled to murderous rage. I lifted my gaze to see what he'd spotted and realized the dim light of the bathroom had slanted over my arms to illuminate the ugly purple ring around my wrist.

Our stares collided, but I didn't have time for this. I forced the door shut, then yanked my dress down, all thoughts of Ralph pushed aside as I readied myself to deal with the fallout of his actions.

The bathroom door swung open until Tobias's concerned-eyed stare met mine.
