"Where's Tobias?" As soon as Scarlett entered the room, hardly balancing a tray decorated with an assortment of delectable food, I couldn't help but feel my curiosity surface. The air was instantly flooded with a gentle yet captivating scent of warm and comforting porridge, skillfully intermingling with the soft breeze. It was as if the aroma had a life of its own, playfully captivating my senses, finding its way into my nostrils and enticing me with its enticing allure. Yet, despite being hungry, I couldn't bring myself to eat.

As our eyes met, I couldn't help but notice the genuine concern that flickered within Scarlett's mesmerizing hazel orbs. They seemed almost ethereal, effortlessly reflecting a myriad of emotions, conveying a silent but heartfelt reassurance tailored solely for me. Her subtle smile, delicately curved on her lips, projected a silent message - an unspoken attempt to bring solace and appeasement to my restless thoughts.

The room seemed to transform into a sanctuary of warmth and tranquility only for a second. Scarlett's tender presence, coupled with the enticing aroma wafting in the air, swirled harmoniously, creating a captivating ambience that enveloped my senses. It was a tranquil haven where worries momentarily ceased to exist, overshadowed by the comforting presence of nourishment and genuine care.

"Have something first." She insisted, holding the bowl between her plans. The anxiousness in me grew. "He's with Papa. Do you need me to call him?" She raised her brow scooping the porridge in the spoon and blowing on it. The steam disappeared in air.

I found myself in a situation where it became hard for me to have a conversation with someone. Understandably, I was growing increasingly worried because he had departed after our conversation a few hours ago, and despite assuring me that he would return shortly, he had not yet reappeared. This made me wonder if there was perhaps an interaction or exchange of words between Tobias and Papa. I had a strong hunch that Tobias may have revealed something that papa might not like, given his genuine concern for my well-being. It was evident that I held a special place in his thoughts and he wanted to ensure that my needs were met.

Unfortunately, papa had a preference to display indifference towards those around him, including his own children. His lack of caring and consideration often left us feeling neglected and unimportant in his eyes.

"I–nevermind." I lifted the sheets off me as Scarlett's eyes widened. Her hands clasped around my wrists

"What're you doing? You need to rest—" I shook my head in disbelief, feeling a rush of dizziness and queasiness overpower me, as if I had been abruptly thrown into the depths of an unsteady ship amidst a raging storm. With cautious steps, I gingerly planted my foot onto the cold, hard floor, hoping to ground myself, but unfortunately, the overpowering wave of nausea seemed relentless in its pursuit of my weakened state. My legs, now as feeble as a newbor's, began to waver uncontrollably, threatening to give way beneath me and send me sprawling to the ground.

Fortunately, before my body could fully succumb to the merciless pull of gravity, Scarlett swiftly moved towards me, her hands reaching out just in time to steady my trembling form and prevent the imminent fall that loomed before me. The relief that washed over me was profound, like a gust of fresh air filling my deflated lungs, as I realized that I was safe from the grasp of potential harm.

My body leaned heavily against Scarlett's supportive frame.

"I need to see him, Scar. Please."

Scarlett helped me to find Tobias. When I entered the living room, he looked disheveled and tired. There were eye bags under his eyes, his skin paler. He was sitting on the couch when he heard the footsteps. A frown curved on his lips as he shot up and rushed to my side. Grabbing me by the arms he guided me onto the couch.
