You Can Come To Me (Beronica)

Veronica's POV

I was sitting at home watching my two year old adopted son play with his toys in my living room. I never really found someone who I wanted to spend my life with so I adopted a son who I loved with all my heart

Mason- "play mama!" Veronica- (giggles) "sure buddy" I ruffled his hair and sat down to play with him but then my phone rang. Veronica- "I'll be back, okay" he blinked at me and went back to playing with his trains. I laughed before I got up and grabbed my phone. I sawBetty's contact and immediately picked it up

(On the phone)

Veronica- "hey Be! What's u-" Brynn- (cries) "auntie Ve, you have to help us" Veronica- "Bry? What's going on" Brynn- (cries) "dad's gone crazy, h-he's hurting mom and he won't stop" Veronica- "okay, just stay calm Brynn. I'll be right over"

(Off the phone)

I immediately grabbed mason and packed him a bag as I called Archie on the way. He was right next door to Betty and Jughead so It was easy for me to drop him off

I did that as quickly as I could before running and knocking on the Cooper door. It was opened by Brynn who ran out into my arms. Brynn- (cries) "Ve, mom n-needs help" Veronica- "I've got her Bry, just go see Josie snd Archie" she nodded as I watched her run next door. I carefully stepped into the house. Veronica- "Betty?"

I found her covered in bruises upstairs curled up into a little ball. Betty- (sobs) "Ve" Veronica- (softly) "shh, I'm here" I went over to her and held her tight. Veronica- (softly) "where is he?" Betty- (sobs) "h-he left f-for the bar" I helped her up and took her downstairs

Veronica- "you're not staying here anymore Be, you can't" Betty- (cries) "he'll find me, he threatened to hurt Brynn" Veronica- "I'm not going to let him. Come on"

I helped her to the car before running next door and getting the kids. Brynn- "a-are you sure?" Veronica- "yes, he won't get to you and your mom" she looked at me before she hugged me. Brynn- "thank you Ve" I hugged her back and smiled before I grabbed Mason from Josie

Josie- "She okay?" Veronica- "she will be, I thought she and Jug were happy. Did you guys know anything?" Archie- (sighs) "we heard yelling a few times but I never thought he would hurt her" Veronica- "neither did I, I'm just going to take them back to the Pembroke and make sure their comfortable" Josie- "you're so nice Ve" Veronica- "of course, I hate seeing her in pain" Archie- "they're lucky to have you"

I nodded and smiled as Mason rested his head on my shoulder. Veronica- "someone missed their nap huh" I rubbed his back as Brynn and I went to the car.

It was a quiet ride back to the apartment and as soon as we got there Brynn offered to put Mason down for his nap so Betty and I got a chance to talk.

Betty- (sniffles) "thank you Ve" I was cleaning a cut on her shoulder as she watched me. Veronica- "of course Betty. I care about you. But I am curious about why you didn't tell me. I could've helped you sooner" Betty- (sighs) "I was scared, I didn't want him to hurt Bry o-or" She put her hand on her stomach as I sighed. Veronica- "oh Betty" I hugged her as she cried into my shoulder. Betty- (cries) "that's what our fight was about, He wanted me to get an abortion but I can't"

Veronica- "it's okay, I'll help you okay?" Betty- "really?" Veronica- "of course, you're my best friend and I care about you"

I hugged her for as long as she needed but then Brynn came out holding Mason's hand as he held onto his teddy bear. Brynn- "I'm sorry, he couldn't sleep" Veronica- "that's okay Bry" he ran over to me as I set him on my lap. I was over protective of him right now mainly because I was thinking about the times I left him with Betty and Jughead. It scared me but I couldn't tell Be

Betty- "how are you doing big guy?" Mason- (sniffles) "scary" Betty- "bud you don't need to be scared, everythings okay" he looked at me before reaching his arms out for Betty. She looked at me as I nodded before she took him. He cuddled into her arms as Brynn sat beside me. Veronica- "you guys are allowed to stay as long as you need, and I promise you I won't let him come anywhere near you.. two?"

Betty- (smiles) "three, Brynn knows" Brynn- "t-that's why I called you this time. I was worried" I wrapped my arm around her shoulder and smiled. Veronica- "it was a really brave thing Bry,  I'm proud of you" she smiled and hugged me

Betty- "thank you for getting us Ve, you saved us"
Veronica- "I'd do anything for you, you both know that right?" I looked between them as they both smiled and nodded. Veronica- (smiles) "good, now is there anything that you guys would like to do? We could rent a movie, or order some takeout. Your choice" Brynn- "a-a movie sounds good, is that okay mom?" Betty- "baby, your dad's not here. Of course it's okay"

I didn't know how controlling Jughead was and I didn't want to ask but I knew it was bad.Brynn was terrified about asking for anything she was only ten but she was already very mature.

Veronica- "you guys can pick while I go get this little guy some juice" I ticked Mason's stomach before getting and going to the kitchen. When I got back they had cuddled up with each other and put on a movie.

Veronica- "I hope there's room for me" Brynn- "of course Aunt Ve" she patted the spot beside her before I sat down and handed Betty the Sippy Cup I made for Mason. She took it and gave it to him as he cuddled up with her even more. Betty- "I guess I'm going to have to get used to this" Veronica- "he's always loved you Be, you've always protected him" she smiled and kissed the top of his head

We watched a couple of movies before we headed to bed. It had been about two hours before I heard footsteps coming down the hall and a knock on my door. It opened and I saw Betty standing there with her arms crossed and a tear stained face. Veronica- "Be? Are you okay" she shooked her head as I invited her in.

She immediately cuddled in beside me as I stroked her hair. Veronica- "what happened?" Betty- (sniffles) "I don't know, I just needed someone" Veronica- (smiles) "well I'm here" I kissed her forehead as she looked up at me. She glanced between my eyes and my lips before leaning in and kissing me. It surprised me but I quickly leaned into it

After a couple of seconds we broke apart and I watched her examine my face to see my reaction. I just smiled. Betty- "Ve.." Veronica- "I know, me too. But let's wait and see what happens, then we can talk about us" she smiled and nodded. Betty- "C-Can I stay here with you tonight?" Veronica- "you can always stay with me"

Over the next couple months we pressed charges against Jughead for what he did and he was sentenced to a couple years in prison which made Betty feel a bit better. We waited till after she gave birth to her baby boy who she named Colten to talk about what we could be. Then I was able to call Betty Cooper my girlfriend which made me the happiest girl in the world

It also made me realize that she knew that she could always come to me if she needed to.
