When the Nott family arrived in Ilvermorny, Massachusetts, it was early in the morning. The sun was barely up, and the students were yet to wake in their dorms. After a quick introduction at the front of the castle, the Headmistress invited the family, along with the two Student Council members, and Professor Brunner to her office to discuss the arrangements that would happen in the school. The whole time, though the two Student Council members looked like they would have preferred to have a few more hours of sleep, they were in tip top shape, ready to receive them with hospitality. Something that the family, the siblings, especially appreciated.

“We could see that we arrived a bit early,” Carina said. “Sorry, it was the only slot we could find for a Ministry Portykey.”

Headmistress Fontaine smiled. “Not at all – it should be us apologizing for the sudden change of plans, it must have been hectic, especially for the children, that you had to rush everything. We just couldn’t let this opportunity slide – recently, about fifty percent of our fifth years to seventh years  are interested in taking Magizoology and Dragonology, and most of our students in third years have taken Care for Magical Creatures as their electives.

“When we heard about your little tour around America’s magical reserves, we had to take the opportunity. Aside from Romania, the Magical Creatures Reserve in Scotland is one of the most recognized environments for those pursuing such career. I also heard that a lot of our own Ministry Members in the Department of Magical Creatures also come to your reserve to learn about the newest ways to care and bread for them, Mr. Nott.”

“We host a couple of trainings. But we can’t really take full credit – the Ministry Department of Magical Creatures are very cooperative with us,” said Theodore. “We try to find better way to care for these creatures – especially now that I heard there is another case of possible extinction due to human activity.”

“There’s no need for modesty, Mr. Nott.” The Headmistress’ eyes went to Carina. “And how fortunate we are to learn that you’re married to a notable member of the Maj-Astra, Professor Carina Black. Another opportunity we couldn’t miss, to have a Maj-Astra member give a talk about the latest magical technology used in your field. And not to brag, our school actually uses your book for the students’ text for class.”

Carina turned to the two-girl standing at the side, both with wide eyes after learning that the author of their Astronomy textbook was there in the office with them.

“I wasn’t expecting that – but it’s an honor,” Carina blushed.

Sitting at the side on the long bench, the Nott siblings shared a couple of fist-bumps for their parents’ achievements.

“Merlin, they’re both nerds,” Romulus whispered to his siblings.

“Nerds with tattoos,” added Viktor.

“And rides motorcycles,” said Sofia.

Just after Headmistress Fontaine explained the flow of the lectures that would be held in Ilvermorny, and the arrangements for Romulus, Sofia, Viktor, and Theo’s schooling, the bell rang, signaling the students’ start of the day. Professor Brunner wheeled his chair to where the two Student Councils were and whispered something to them.

“Well, it seems that breakfast is ready,” said Professor Brunner. “Maybe we could continue this chat with some food? I don’t know about our dear guests, but I am famished.”

And as if it were on cue, Viktor’s stomach grumbled, and all eyes were on him. All he could do was smile to end the awkward situation. The two girls stifled a laugh, while their Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher turned to the four of them and winked jokingly.
