Chapter 21 - Lorenzo / Ellie

Actually finished this chapter on time, I'm trying really hard to post daily updates while I can, even if it means staying up until 4 in the morning like I did before

Heads up!! I do use google translate on the conversations that occur in Italian. If there's any mistakes, please don't mind it!

My alarm hadn't gone off yet, I'd been up for about 6 hours by now since the time I had tried to go to bed. I checked the clock that stood on my nightstand and saw that it was now 4:38 am, the sky was still dark and the place was quiet.

I got up from my bed, deciding to just give up on going to sleep any longer and getting ready for the day early. I walked over to my closet and changed out of my clothes, putting on my normal suit attire and throwing the other clothes into the laundry basket.

Rest never came easy to me, it was rare for me to even get a full 8 hours of healthy sleep. Most of my days I only run on about an hour of sleep, maybe 3 hours if I got lucky. I didn't know why, I just couldn't sleep. Valentino told me to get checked for insomnia but I refused, I didn't want to get tested for anything that wasn't necessary.

I walked out of the closet and headed over to my bathroom, getting ready to brush my teeth and fix my hair since I had nothing else to do but wait until morning.

I spent about 5 minutes taking care of my teeth and hair, drying my hair out with a towel. I could've just blow dried it or something, but air drying was better for me. No reason for it really, it just made my hair look better and I didn't have to style it.

I left my bathroom and started walking over to my bedroom door to leave before I had remembered something.

I glanced over at my nightstand and stared at the rectangular black box that sat there, walking over to it and picking it up. This was the item I had gotten at the auction... I had gotten it for Ellie.

When I saw it, it just reminded me of her, it was a shiny golden flower with a diamond in the middle of it, the petals spouting out of it. I needed to find a way to apologize for my behavior so maybe this would help with that.

'What the actual hell is she doing to me?'

I took it with me and walked out of my room, going over to her room and opening the door. I walked inside and placed the box down on her bed for her next visit, leaving the room afterwards and shutting the door.

The lights in the mansion were all still on, I usually keep them on since I can't sleep and sometimes I feel the temptation to just walk around the place a few times until I felt like I've had enough. I thought it would tire me out but it never did, it changed absolutely nothing.

I walked down the semi-spiral stairs, looking down at the red carpet the ran down them. It was the same thing for the other sets of stairs on the opposite side. The floor shined as the light from the chandelier about hit it, at least I know it was cleaned properly.

I had almost forgotten about the guy that had been locked inside my basement, Angelo. Since I had a bunch of time to kill, why not pay him a little visit this morning?

I walked over to the basement door and unlocked it, walking inside and shutting the door behind me, locking it after. I turned back around and walked down the somewhat steep steps, looking over to my side to see him sleeping with his body leaning forward.
