Chases POV:
I have been "friends" with Charli for 2 weeks now. We both know we aren't really friends in that way but it wasn't like before.

We are friends but we are more then that, we're in a weird place. We're in the between. We aren't together, but we aren't not together.

We are half friends, half not.
It's very weird. I haven't tried to kiss her,  because she hasn't tried to kiss me. I don't wanna be disrespectful to her because I know how much she's been through in the past with guys, and only 2 weeks ago she was sexually assaulted. I'm not gonna pressure her into anything, so when she's ready, she can decide what's best for the both of us

We were sitting on the bleachers with her head in my lap and she looked up at me

Charli: "you excited for the end of the school year?"

I shook my head

Chase: "not really"

I can't believe Il be a senior next year. That's where things start to get real

Charli: "seriously? Why not?"
Chase: "I won't be able to see you every day"

It will be summer, and maybe if we were dating we'd spend every day together but we aren't.

Chase: "what about you? Are you excited?"
Charli: "no. Not at all. I am not ready for summer and I am not ready for our final year of high school. I'm not ready for anything"

I haven't really thought about what I'm gonna do yet.

Charli: "do you know where you are going for university?"
Chase: "Wherever you're going"

She smiled and rolled her eyes

Charli: "not happening. I mean, I'd love for you to go to the same school as me. But you wanna go to an art school, I wanna go to law school. They're practically opposites"

I will gladly give up art for her

Chase: "yeah I change my mind, I wanna go to law school"
Charli: "no you don't"

I do if it means being with her for another 4 years

Charli: "remember Chase, do what is best for you. Not us."
Chase: "being with you is what's best for me"

Even though technically we aren't really together

Charli: "you aren't my boyfriend"

Okay.

Charli: "Are you excited for your game tonight?"

Not really. I don't really like lacrosse, I just happen to be good at it.

Chase: "no but I am excited for you to me cheerleading me on"

Best part of the game.

Chase: "I'm also excited to see you in your cheer outfit"

Best part of the week.

Charli: "c'mon you gotta be excited for more then that. The whole school is gonna be there watching you, it's the championships"

Yeah that just makes it worse

Chase: "I don't really care if we win or not."
Charli: "well think of it this way, if you win, you get more cheerleading from me"
