Spencers POV

"See! I told you, Robin Hood. I've still got it," I say proudly to Clint as I hit yet another target.

"If I didn't know better, I'd say you were out here practicing this whole time," he says back.

I go to make a comment. But he beats me to it.

"Don't worry. I know there's no way in hell Nat would have let that happen."

I chuckle along with him, "yeah she pretty much hid anything that could hinder my arm, which was just about anything that would be of any fun."

"Yeah it sounded like you were pretty confined to sitting on the couch."

"Well.. I could still do other activities," I smirk. He laughs. "But, no. I know it was for the best. She wanted to make sure I healed correctly and I'm thankful for that. I'm sure my dumb ass would have done something to mess it up."

"Yeah, you probably would have."

"Hey! You didn't have to agree."

He shrugs, "it's true, though."

I can't really argue that, so I let it go.

He picks up the conversation elsewhere, "so.. have you and Nat talked about kids?"

I go a little stiff at the comment. I know Nat and I had talked about it, and at the time it was something we both wanted. But once the infinity stones incident happened.. I don't know. (Yes, that's what I'm calling it. It changed a lot.)

"Um.. it really hasn't come up," I kick some dirt with my foot.

He softens, "Spence..."

"It's okay. I mean, if she doesn't want kids, it's okay. Whatever she wants, I want."

"You want kids. I believe she still does, too. You just have to talk to her."

"I know.. but she's already had to do so much for me the last six months or so.. I don't want to stress her out."

Clint motions for us to sit on the bench.

"Spencer. I know Nat has been a little.. over protective of you. But that's just because she cares. I'm sure once she knows you want kids, she'll be open to it, too."

"Yeah.. but I don't want her to be 'open to it,' I want it to be something she wants, ya know? Like I don't want her to do it just because I want it."

"Kids has been something Nat has wanted.. for awhile. She just didn't think she'd be able to. Yes, she's shifted all of her extra energy to you.."

"Yeah. That makes me feel better," I mumble.

"But. You're healed! Your arm is pretty much back to 100%!" At the mention of it, I look down at my arm, inspecting it. "If you're ready, you need to talk to her."

I throw my head back all dramatically. "I know. I know. We did say we'd talk about it after the whole.. stones thing," I look back to him. "But.. how about I kick your ass at this a few more times before I do that, huh?" I smirk at him.

"Yeah. In your dreams," but he's standing up, already getting his bow ready.

I take a deep breath. Okay a few.

You can do this. She's your wife. She loves you. She wanted kids, too. And you're healed now. You pretty much have full function. You can handle a kid. You're ready.
