M A R I A  S A M A N T H A

"Samantha?" I heard someone call outside, banging on the door.

I stood up from the couch immediately right after I got familiar with the voice. Is that Luke Hemmings?

I ran to the door then I heard him speak again.

"Samantha, please." I heard him plead. I opened the door slowly, revealing a crying Luke.

I felt my knees weaken, I don't usually see Luke like this, and the last time I saw him cry is when we're in middle school that his father decided to go overseas.

"Samantha, I'm sorry." He said, hugging me.

"Luke, how could you..." I said, whimpering, close to crying. Everything from this day suddenly floods in my mind, making my eyes brim with tears.

"Samantha, I'm sorry." He cried, burying his face in the crook of my neck. "I'm sorry." He repeated, much slower.

"Just, give me some time, okay? Leave me alone." I sighed, slowly pushing him away. I looked again on his eyes and it's bloodshot, maybe from the crying.

"Come home." He whispered and I shook my head. He hid his face in his hands.

"Just...let me stay here, I'll come home tomorrow." I murmured, looking down on the ground.

"What's going on here?" I heard Thomas spoke up he shrugged and walked in.

"Thomas, hi." I breathed out and hid behind his back.

"Samantha, please. Let's go home." Luke pleaded, holding my wrist.

"Luke, no. I don't want to go home." I sighed, shaking his hand away.

"Samantha, please."

"Dude, she said no." Thomas argued but a little polite.

"Don't put your nose on our business, twit." Luke sneered. My eyes widened.

"Luke, what the hell." I widened my eyes at him, his face suddenly softens.

"I'm sorry, I-"

"Luke, just go." I said gesturing for him to go.

"I'm stressed, okay? The last thing I want is somebody trying to stop me to get you." Luke sighed in frustration, ruffling his hair, his quiff messed up.

"She doesn't want to go with you, Luke." Thomas said sternly, walking in front of me as if protecting me.

"Shut up, dimwit." Luke spat. "Samantha, please."

"Luke, no. I'll come home tomorrow I promise, just let me stay the night here." I sighed and came in between Thomas and Luke to stop the tension building up.

"Fine. But early tomorrow morning, I'm picking you up." Luke said giving me a hug and a short kiss on my forehead. "I love you."

"I love you too," I sighed.

Luke smiled at me then walked away.

"Here," Thomas handed me a burger and that's when I realized I'm hungry.

"Thank you." I smiled.

"So you and Luke, huh?" Thomas chuckled, giving me a glass of water.

"Oh, no," I shook my head rapidly. "It's just, normal, for us. Cause we're like siblings," I explained.

"Oh, but did you know that he's-" He said but then covered his mouth like he wasn't supposed to say any of it.

"He's what?" I asked, raising my eyebrow.

"No, no forget it. Never mind."

"Okay..." I trailed off. "Oh shit!" I sighed when realizing what time it is.

It's 6 pm, I haven't went to work, I slept for hours.

"Why?" He asked, slouching on the couch.

"I haven't went to work." I facepalmed.

"It's fine, Calum's absent."

"What? Why?"

"I don't know," Thomas shrugged. "You know what, how about a movie?"

"Good idea." I nodded then we went to the living room.
