Arwyn's POV

"Here you go again," sabi ni Ace na nasa likod ko, "gonna buy mamon, huh?"

Mamon na naman?! Kanina pang umaga 'to nagmamamon! Sabagay, si Pedro nga pala 'to.

"Talaga!"

Our classroom was as boisterous as it had always been when a subject finished, but there was a deafening silence between Ace and I. We haven't been able to come to terms, and I'm not sure where to begin. I've thought about how I can put an end to the drama and get back to normal, the us that we really get along with.

The air between us grows heavy, and I get the impression that there is an awkward atmosphere surrounding us. He's moving something behind me, I can tell. He was arranging his learning materials when I caught a glimpse of him behind me.

Our gazes connected as soon as I turned to face him. We both averted our gazes to each other, as though we were aware of the awkwardness between us. I let out a deep sigh and returned my gaze to him. If I want to put an end to this small conflict between us, I need to approach him. First and foremost, it was I, not he, who was at blame.

"I-I... u-um..." Tangina! Wala akong masabi! Argh!

"Sorry about what I did. Pinangunahan ako ng emotions ko."

"No, I'm sorry," pagpupumilit ko.

He reached for my back to offer me a nice pat. "Sorry if I didn't tell you." I can feel the sincerity in his voice and actions. Now that I think about it, there's nothing wrong with keeping your genuine affections for someone hidden, especially if they're already taken. But, in the end, you'll be regretful if you keep those feelings secret for the rest of your life.

Typical Ace.

"I'm sorry as well." I nodded. I know I shouldn't have acted like that, but I couldn't help myself. At that time, though, I felt betrayed.

I found Ace giggling after only a few seconds had elapsed. I'm not sure why he's like that, which caused my brow to furrow.

Nababaliw na ata ang isang 'to.

"Ano'ng nakakatawa?" iritang tanong ko.

Tumigil na rin siya sa pagtawa niya. Seryoso naman siyang tumingin sa 'kin. "Please, don't hurt her again."

He really loves Bella, I can tell.

"I noticed that your feelings for her were—"

"I-I love her, I still do."

"I hope my intuitions are wrong."
