Chapter 32: Strange And Complicated

Arwyn's POV

"Paawa effect ka na naman! Diyan ka lang naman magaling, eh!" Narinig ko pang dagdag ng isa sa mga babae roon.

Who the heck are these?! Bakit hindi na lang sila mag-away-away sa ibang lugar?!

"A-ano b-ba 'y-yung g-ginawa ko?"

Natigilan ako nang marinig ang tinig na iyon. Pamilyar ang boses na iyon, at hindi akong pwedeng magkamali na siya nga iyon.

"K-kung m-meron m-man, p-pasensya n-na."

Pagkarinig ko no'n ay parang tinusok ang dibdib ko. Parang sinasaksak ako sa boses niyang basag. Ramdam ko ang takot at kalituhan sa boses niya. At dahil doon, nakaramdam ako ng awa.

May kung ano sa loob kong nag-uudyok sa'king tignan iyon at tulungan siya. Hindi na ako nagpaligoy-ligoy pa, tumayo na ako para makita. I saw five women were standing in front of her. They didn't notice me yet. Tss, because they're busy bullying Nadine.

"Haharang-harang ka sa daanan namin, tas sasabihin mong wala kang ginagawa?" mataray na sabi ng isang babae. I bet she's the leader of this small group of them. Pamilyar siya sa 'kin. Isa ata 'to sa mga naging ka-fling ko noong high school. I forgot her name, and I don't wanna waste time to remember.

"Oh, and I have an ace," she proudly said. Bahagya siyang lumapit kay Nadine. "Pwede kitang mapatalsik dito sa pamamagitan nila Arwyn at Bella." And then she smirked.

I also smirked because of what she said.

"Oops, I doubt it. Nilalandi mo nga pala si Arwyn, 'no?" sabi pa ng isa at sabay silang tumawa.

That issue again.

Unti-unting nang nag-iinit ang ulo ko dahil sa mga sinasabi nila. Hindi ko alam, pero nagagalit ako dahil sa mga nagsasabi sa kanya na 'nilalandi' niya ako, which is obviously not true.

"P-pasensya n-na t-talaga," nakayukong sabi ni Nadine na halatang itinatago ang mukha niya dahil nagbabadyang tumulo ang mga luha niya.

I wanna dry those tears, but how? And why do I want to? What's wrong with me?

"Are you joking? Matagal ng ubos ang pasensya ko sa 'yong babae ka." She gritted her teeth and rolled her eyes.

"Girls, pasensya raw?" singit pa ulit ng isa pa habang tumatawa. "Payag kayo?" dagdag niya pa.

"Of course not! Akala mo kung sino ka, eh nobody ka lang naman dito!" Sabi pa ng parang leader.

Nobody.

Yeah, she's a nobody to me. But why does it feel that she isn't? I feel that there's something in her life that doesn't make her a nobody. And the fact that she's the little sister of Braylon, one of the smartest, most influential, and powerful students here, makes me doubt if she is a nobody.

Perhaps, are they hiding something?

Wait, why do I care in the first place? Damn! I can help it.

"And you dare to flirt with one of the famous students here in Riverdale University?!" She raised her tone this time. And I saw how scared Nadine is now.

I have this feeling that I have to protect her because she's scared. No-- I want to protect her.

What the heck am I thinking?!

"Oh, not only famous..." she stepped forward, "but a member of the family of one of the shareholders of this school. So meaning, isa sa may-ari ng university."
