Chapter 91: And The Reason Is You

"Thank you."

"For what?"

"For being there."

"I left you remember?"

"But I think it was for the best. Fate had made it that way for if you didn't, who would have been there for Maine and my son?"

"So now you believe in fate?"

"And love. Aside from Sebastian, that is the greatest gift I received from her."

"What do you plan to do now?"

"I don't know. Right now, I need to find her."

The bigger hand now again holds and leads the smaller one. Just like before. Just like it should have always been.

"He still hasn't change has he?"

RJ shook his head. "Not one bit." He shook Gio's shoulders. "Gio wake up! We need to find her. Before it's too late."

Jacinta gently slipped Maine's arm through the sleeve of one of RJ's shirt, as it was the one that was handy at the moment. Throughout her ministration, Maine not once stirred. Jacinta planted a soft kiss on her forehead, hoping that somehow her move gave her comfort. She looked at the two women who changed her sons' life. Although she hasn't confirmed it, she had a strong hunch that the woman at the foot of the bed, cleaning and bandaging Maine's blistered and bruised feet was one, if not the primary reason why her eldest son has come back. Now if RJ would just come through the door and mend things with Maine, everything would be all right. She stared at the door, willing it to open and reveal her youngest son.

"Ma'am, you should rest." Alexa broke into her thoughts.

Jacinta refused. "I'm fine. I'm not yet tired."

She looked at Maine, who was completely knocked out. "She is all right. Her body is already doing its function of making her rest to recuperate." Alexa assured the elder woman and insisted, "Unc... Mr. Roberto trusted you in my care and I wouldn't want to disappoint him."

Jacinta raised herself from the bed. "You've called my husband Uncle, I think it's only fitting that you call me Auntie," patting her hand. 'And maybe, after all this fiasco, Mamá,' she said to herself as she allowed herself to be led out of the room.

"Damn! They all can't be reached."

"Call them later." His brother urged him. "Let's go."

Gio nodded. "The more area we cover, the greater our chances of finding her. I'm sure they'll ring us if they have found her."

They both had a point. "Let's split up."

RJ hit the pole in frustration. It's the third time today that he went back to this shed. Where was his sense of direction? His eyes roamed, searching for another direction to go when out of the corner of his eye, he saw something familiar. He was still dubious even if he was walking towards where it was, heaped in a corner. After all, it is not an unusual occurence to accidentally leave a coat or jacket at a bus stop. But as he discovered, it wasn't just any coat.
