Chapter 87: Jenga

"Cheers!" Issa shrieked as they held their glasses up for the wedding of the year, as dubbed by the newspapers that came out that afternoon.

Maine had only two glasses but her cheeks were red as lobsters as her eyes scanned the headline of the newspaper that their friends brought along with them at the Okada Bar.

'Businessman of the Year, Richard James Fullerton, aims at another high cost project, a second honeymoon baby.'

She rolled up the newspaper and hit RJ with it. "You just had to say that didn't you?"

He caught the newspaper after the second blow. "I was just telling the truth!" He grinned at her.

She sighed and then her lips pouted. "But you could have just kept it to yourself."

He kissed her pouting lips. 'It really isn't as bad as you make it out to be. Look at it this way, with this announcement, I'm making it clear to the world that I'm looking forward to settling down and planting roots."

"But what if we don't?"

"Hey, are you doubting my virility? If you would care to remember, it just took us less than 12 hours to make Sebastian."

"Really?" Alex asked in wonder.

They forgot they had company with them. "Alex, since when did you start eavesdropping on other people's conversations?" RJ rebuked.

"Man, we didn't need to eavesdrop, you two were talking loud enough for the people in the other room to hear." Mark teased.

"And we thought you were worried about your reputation, Maine" her best friend teased.

"But when in truth you were just worried that you wouldn't live up to what you guys said at the conference," Corinne added to the teasing.

"Well, I think someone here still hasn't come back from their honeymoon," Alex said, teasing Gio and Amelie who were so absorbed with each other in one couch that they didn't even know that the topic shifted to them. They continued their small talk about sweet nothings, playfully rubbing their noses against each other.

Issa smiled contentedly as she watched Gio tenderly drew his wife down to plant a kiss on her lips. She squeezed her husband's thigh in giddiness. Alex squeezed back, feeling the same way.

The two looked up when they realized that the room has become silent. "What?" Gio asked, moving forward, tucking Amelie securely on his lap.

They all just smiled at them, eyes gleaming with mirth. "Nothing," they all said in unison, which made them all break into laughter.

"Hey RJ!" Gio said almost at a shout to get his best friend's attention. "Do you mind if we don't attend your rehearsals?"

"Of course he would mind!" Alex answered for RJ. "We all made a promise and the rest of us has kept it, and now you're breaking yours?"

Issa gave Alex a slap on the head. "Stupid man, I told you to clean your ears this morning!" Issa moved forward in her seat, "Gio said rehearsals, not the wedding!"

Alex gingerly touched the area where her hand landed. "Oh!"

"Oh! Oh!" She crossed her arms, rolling her eyes. "If you listened to me and did what I said, then you wouldn't be oh oh-ing right now."
