I packed clothes into multiple suitcases and headed out of the compound to the Mercedes SUV. I closed the trunk to the vehicle. Freya, Vincent, Marcel, and Joshua were waiting outside the compound. "From one king to another. It's nice to know you've found your queen." Marcel said with a smirk. I smiled at him. "I can only hope you find yours." I said. "So do I." He said. "So where will you three go?" Freya asked. "Well...I have an old friend that is the headmistress of a school in Virginia. Somewhat of an old flame of Niklaus." I explained. "Caroline?" Hayley asked me. "That would be the flame." I stated. "When can we expect the wedding?" Freya asked. "Uh...I don't know." Hayley said. "Well. I guess we should let you guys leave the city." Marcel said. "Marcel...Word of advice...don't make the same mistake that I almost did. My sister...You love her?" I asked him. "Damn straight." He answered. "Put a ring on her." I said before opening the passenger's side door for Hayley to get into. I closed the door and opened the back door and Hope climbed into the seat after hugging Freya, Vincent, and Marcel. I got into the driver's seat and drove away to Virginia.

I stood on a field wearing a charcoal grey trench coat beside Hayley. To the right of me was the headmaster. Alaric Saltzman.  "Looks like she's fitting right in." Alaric said. "She's adaptable." Hayley stated. "And honestly, I think this is what she's always wanted. A normal life, friends her own age. Well, the kids here are pretty great. You know, they're accepting, eager to learn. You know, we just try to keep up. Teach them discipline, compassion...ethics." Alaric said looking at me. "Magical potions. Spell-casting." I said. "Broomstick riding." Hayley added. Alaric chuckled. "Yeah, well, there is some of that." Alaric said. "I've just spent a lot of time with supernatural people who were never comfortable in who they were. These kids...These kids will be better." Alaric said. "Hopefully...they won't have to deal with the troubles of having their sirelines destroyed or being possessed by ancient witches." I said. "Or foxes." Hayley interjected. "You've changed a lot since we first met in Mystic Falls." Alaric said. "Good way or bad way?" I asked. "Good way. You're no longer the sadistic murderer that didn't care who stood in his way." He explained. "Ah. Yeah...not my finest moments." I said nodding my slowly. Alaric shook his head. "No. They weren't. And from the look of things...you seem happy." He said looking at me with a smile. "I am. 1000 years searching and I've finally found it." I said kissing the top of Hayley's head. Hope looked at the two of us and waved. We waved back at her. "She's gonna be okay." I told Hayley. "We all are." She said resting her head on my shoulder.
