I stood in the office staring out the window. "Something on your mind, brother?" Klaus asked me. "No more than usual." I said. "I noticed that you weren't exactly vocal about Vincent's plan to save Hope." Klaus said. "For a good reason." I started turning to my brother with tears in my eyes. "What's wrong?" He asked concerned. "I know what must be done...but if I do it...I can never be around Hayley and Hope." I said. "Losing the happiness that you've spent a 1000 years searching for." Klaus said coming to the conclusion. He walked over to me. "I know how much they mean to you. Given quick you were to separate yourself from them because of the demons that reside within you." Nik said quietly. "I wanted to keep them safe. But I also wanted to be here to protect them from any harm." I said. "You're not a god, Miecyzy." Klaus said. "I wish I was. At least, then I'd be able to suck the Hollow into an endless void." I grumbled. Klaus looked at me with wide eyes. "Void." He said. "What?" I asked. "Imprison the Hollow in a void." Klaus said. "Nik. I know what you're about to say. I can't part ways with the Nogitsune. It's impossible. It's eternally bound to me. It's a part of me that keeps this family alive." I said. "It has dark power, Stiles. Power that can consume fear and pain from anyone you touch. Imagine if you touched Hope. Her fear would transfer to you. You'd consume the Hollow." Klaus stated. "Nik. Vincent said that it takes four to defeat the Hollow." I said pouring Bourbon into two glasses. Klaus sighed as he took one of the glasses from my hands. "I know...I don't wish to send you away from Hayley or Hope." He said. "We can never catch a bloody break...can we?" I asked downing the alcohol. He did the same. I set the glass down and pat my hand on his shoulder with a smile as I walked passed him. "Guess...Mother Nature found the way to keep the 1000 year old cosmic mistake from achieving his happiness even after he's found it." I said before leaving.

I walked into the study where Elijah and Rebekah were. "Our younger brother...doesn't seem too excited of becoming the host to yet another eternal being." I stated looking at them both. "Can you blame him? He already has to deal with that bloody immortal fox and his Ripper. I can't imagine him having to deal with those two AND a quarter of the Hollow." Rebekah said. "Neither can I. So please tell me that one of you has gotten a hold of our OTHER mischievous brother." I stated. "Kol has yet to answer his bloody phone. If he doesn't show...Stiles will have to do it." Rebekah said. "And take him away from the happiness that he's searched a millenia for? I won't allow it." I argued. "What other choice do we have?" Elijah asked. "There's Hayley. She is Hope's only other immortal relative." Rebekah suggested. "I'm not allowing Hope to grow up without her mother and father." I said. "No. Kol will come. And Niklaus will be with his child. The three of them must remain together." A voice announced entering the room. We turned to see Stiles. "Oh, and you would just walk away from the woman that you love?" Rebekah asked him. "No...I wouldn't. But if it means keeping them both safe...I'll do what is necessary." He said sadly taking out a small black box and setting it on the counter to the right of him. "Even if it means...I can never be with her again." He said looking at the box and back at the rest of us. "Is that--" Rebekah started. "Yes...it is. Much good it'll do given our current situation." He said with a defeated sigh. Rebekah looked at me and so did Elijah. "Nik...after this is all done...I want you to give this to her." Stiles said grabbing the small box and handing it to me. I looked at it and back at him. I opened it and immediately closed it. It was a ring. An engagement ring. "I can't let you do this." I told him. "And I can't let Hope grow up not knowing her father." He said in tears. "I've never done a damn good thing in my life...giving up my happiness to protect your daughter and the love of my life? Sounds pretty good to me." He said with forced chuckle and smile. He smiled at Rebekah and Elijah before he sped out of the study.
