Tom was talking with Lea while I brought them a glass of whiskey with a drop of water to bring out the flavor of the alcohol. I took a seat next to Tom and pressed my body against his. With a repeated gesture, he slipped his arm behind my neck and gave me a little smile.

Lea laughed at every one of Tom's sentences, even though they weren't meant to be funny. She was totally under his spell and I couldn't blame her, he gave off something special. From the moment my eyes met his in front of the 'Islington Pub & Diner', I couldn't get Tom out of my head.

"What's this tradition of drinking a whiskey at four o'clock?", Tom asked me, looking at his glass.

"When my mom passed away, Lea used to come here every day after she finished school, so 4pm, and we would have a drink in silence," I explained with a slight smile.

"Sorry Love, I shouldn't have asked," Tom apologized as he put his hand on my thigh.

I gave him a big smile so he would understand that it was no big deal. I was finally able to talk about my mother without crying and my best friend looked at me with wide eyes. When I had left Switzerland in October, just thinking about my mother made me cry uncontrollably and Lea was often there when this happened.

"Well I'm impressed" Lea gasped as she nodded her head.

"I'm not the same person anymore babe," I confirmed with a smile.

"What else has changed?" she asked me with a wink.

"Well, I'm not afraid of commitment anymore," I informed her as I squeezed Tom's hand in mine. "I even explained the whole Marc situation to Tom," I remarked proudly.

My father had arrived and poured himself a large glass of scotch before joining us. The atmosphere was very relaxed and we all had a great afternoon. Lea teased Tom from time to time and he defended himself nicely, it was extremely funny to see.

Tom was a real gentleman, as usual. He listened intently to the words that came out of my best friend's mouth quickly and took an interest in her. Sometimes Lea spoke so blankly that my man could no longer follow what she was saying.

"Tom, you can tell me whatever you want, but just so you know, I kissed Emily long before you did," she said, laughing and looking at me.

Tom, shocked, turned his face to mine and stared at me with an uncertain smile. He knew I had made out with as many men as women and I knew that just imagining me with another woman made him very horny.

"Did you guys make out?" he asked us as he sank a little further into the couch.

"Shit, you didn't know Emily was bi?" Lea worried as she bit her thumbnail.

"No, he knows. And yes, we kissed a few times. It was back when we were questioning our sexuality," I explained, running my fingers through his beautiful blonde hair.

Suddenly, he started laughing and we quickly joined him. I was pretty sure that Lea was actually the first person I had ever kissed in my life.

"Well, it's time for me to go home," Lea remarked as her parents' car pulled up outside my house. "Have a good night and have fun," she exclaimed with a wink.

I took my best friend in my arms and held her for long seconds. Then she gave Tom a little hug before saying goodbye to my father who was now in the kitchen.

My dad, my boyfriend and I had dinner together and, unlike last night, no one had yelled at anyone. My dad still gave me a murderous look whenever I touched or kissed Tom, but I didn't care.
