Here we go y'all (,:

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

"I don't understand why you won't let me go. I've said please like a million times—"

"No means no Violet," my dad huffed loudly, his breath hitting the facial hair above his upper lip. I opened my mouth to protest once again but he cut me off before I could, "if you ask me one more time I'll make sure you're nowhere near the house tomorrow."

I crossed my arms and pouted, angry with the way he could just decide what I could and couldn't do. I was 18 for gods sake, and I still had to ask my father for permission to do practically anything.

"You can't stop me," I defied, "i'm well past being of age and I want to help him! If you think i'm just gonna sit and wait—"

"Violet stop," my younger sister tugged on the sleeve of my arm and tried to get me to stop fighting. I looked back at her, our brown eyes meeting one another's, and she silently told me to knock it off.

"The audacity you have to keep asking me! When you are well aware that with me gone that would leave no one to watch over Ruby!"

"She's almost 15 dad she doesn't need watching over," I narrowed my eyes at him and ignored the silent plead I could feel Ruby whispering over to me.

"You have no idea the severity of the situation," my dad shook his head with a frown, "we're moving Harry from his home before Voldemort can kill him. Did you hear that? They don't want to go skipping in a flower field together Violet it's a fight for death."

My once tall back that was trying to pull off a confident stance, slouched over and I gave up in trying. Ruby gave me a sympathetic look, but I simply ignored it and placed myself on the couch to stare at the ground.

My dad had gotten an urgent letter from the Order this morning and me being me had to read it before he did. I learned that they were moving Harry tomorrow night back to the Burrow, and that there would be a force of people accompanying Harry back, one of them being Fred.

"I don't know why you constantly fight when you know it'll do you no good," Ruby sighed when my dad left to the kitchen.

"Yeah well sorry brainiac maybe that's why you're the one in Ravenclaw," I grumbled and kept my eyes trained on my shoes. All summer more and more disappearances started occurring. Although Voldemort has never made an announcement of himself, its obvious over how he's taken over.

Ruby got her Hogwarts letter in the mail last week signed by the new headmaster Severus Snape, the man who killed Dumbledore in vain.

To add on to that the same pair of siblings who I fought at the Hogwarts attack end of last year would also be teaching as Professors there. It was obvious to see how his death eaters were slowly starting to infiltrate every wizarding business, and it wouldn't be long before they overtook everyone and found Harry wherever he was hiding.

"I'm not saying i'm smarter, i'm just saying I know a dead end when I see one," she shrugged, "and think about it you're wanted too Vi. If you're up there flying with Harry you have the possibility of getting hurt too, and then your powers that you so desperately cling on to in order to make a difference will disappear just like that."

"There's no point in having fucking powers if I can't be in the situations where people need me the most," I retorted back. On the letter dad received, Kingsley had written down one adult with one child and Fred's name screamed out as soon as I saw it. I couldn't let him do this alone.

"I don't know if you ask me, I think you'd be putting Harry's escorts in even more danger by going. They want you too, and it wouldn't be fair to everyone else to have to watch over not just one but two of you."

"Okay well I didn't ask and you could've just said you disagreed," I looked at her with annoyance clearly written on my face. I knew she was trying to help but I couldn't think clearly when emotion and misjudgment were clouding my reasoning.

"I don't disagree," she stood up off the couch to walk away, "I'm siding with you Violet, I know that you should be involved with going. But just because you should doesn't mean it's the right thing." With that she walked off to her bedroom, leaving me completely alone to my thoughts.

My biggest fear was sitting on the couch at the Burrow, biting all my fingernails off as I waited for some kind of scream, a kind of cry that would signify someone had gotten hurt. All I wanted to do was be up in the air with them and be able to give them some kind of warning as to what's coming.

A fake date had been spread throughout the ministry  of when Harry's transportation would take place but you never know what could happen until the situation comes.

I played with the charm bracelet on my wrist thinking of Fred, and how badly I wanted to just lay beside him. Things were getting more intense around here and there was a noticeable shift between the way we all interacted.

I couldn't send Harry any type of letters, since there couldn't be any proof that I was communicating or conspiring with him. As for Fred I stayed with him in the beginning of the summer for a small portion of time, interchanging between sleeping at the Burrow and the joke shop.

But one day after a walk in Diagon Alley, we noticed we were being followed by someone, and if Fred hadn't magically locked the store doors behind him I just knew something bad would've happened.

Since then we've had to remain our distance and just communicate through vague and broad letters. The way I felt closest to him was staring at the charm bracelet and playing with each gem that hung from the band.

My dad loudly clanked the dishes in the kitchen and I could hear him curse out under his breath at the crash of glass. Huffing, I stood up and went to go help him with the smashed plates that had spread their pieces all over the floor. My dad was leaning on the floor, carefully trying to pick up each sparking piece of glass.

"Scourgify," I swished with my wand and just like that all of the pieces disappeared from our cardboard floor.

"Thanks," my dad said appreciatively, dusting the residue of dirt he had gotten on his hands from the ground on his pants.

"Yep. Good to know i'm useful for something," I muttered under my breath and went to go turn around to retreat into my room.

"Violet you know what I don't appreciate the attitude you're having with me," dad said raising his voice slightly, "I mean really at the age you're at, I would've thought you could handle looking at the situation from a mature perspective—"

"Yeah mature that's rich," I scoffed, "when it comes down to predicting death and saving people just moments before they've been murdered i'm a big girl, but when it comes to flying on a damn broom i'm all of a sudden this little fairy that needs to be protected. Well news flash dad, Ive been doing that on my own for years now—"

"STOP!" Dad shouted and I closed my mouth from the loudness of his voice. My whole entire life he's been a patient man, and to see him lash out like this was extremely rare, "You don't think I know that you're planning something? You don't think i've looked through your bags and seen that you haven't packed any of your Hogwarts stuff?" His voice cracked at the very end of it but he continued.

"I know you're planning on leaving. And you're of age so I can't stop you but please—for once—I have the power to keep you out of at least one dangerous situation. Let me have this piece of mind tomorrow, knowing that you and Ruby are at the Burrow...safe."

I stared at my dad as we kept our gaze on each other strong and firm. Of course I knew where he was coming from, I knew this situation was far from safe, but all of my friends would be putting their lives on the line while I just sat all safe and warm, waiting for them with tea kettles at the house like some house elf.

"Alright okay I give up," I sighed and raised my hands in a surrendering manner, "Just swear to me you won't get hurt."

"Sweetheart you know I can't promise anything," he looked down, "but have you uhm felt anything? You know about—uh tomorrow?"

My breath caught in my throat when he asked me that question. The truthful reason why I was dying to go with everyone is I had a terrible feeling about tomorrow.

Starting around noon today I got the smallest hint of a headache that started at the left side of my temple. I knew headaches were normal so I tried not to stress and keep going about my day, but now the pain was starting to pinch behind my eye, and I knew myself by now to know that pinching headaches means death.

"Nope," I mustered up a fake smile, "I haven't felt anything so far." I could see the his chest breath out as if he had been holding his air in expecting a different answer from me.

"Wonderful then," he said looking less stressed than before, "I'm going to head to bed now. Make sure to get some sleep yourself too, you're gonna need it." I waved at him bye as he left the kitchen and I heard his feet quietly go up the stairs one by one.

I leaned against the marble counter and tried to slow down the train of thoughts in my head. There were two options I had for tomorrow; either I could break my dads trust and apparate to Harry's neighborhood myself, or I could stay back with Ruby at the Burrow and wait for the others to return.

I knew the second option was really the only choice I had; the guilt of something happening to Ruby or my dad since he was worried would destroy me.

The clock in my house chimed midnight, and I yawned into my hand, finally letting the exhaustion take over me. After turning off all the lights downstairs, I went up to the room I shared with Ruby and plopped on the bed.

I lay there for a couple seconds before I heard a voice speak from beside me, "Violet?"

"Yes Ruby?" I answer and flipped over to my side. Her face was already facing me and I admired her wavy black hair spread across her pillow sheet, encompassing her frowning face.

"You're not going to do anything stupid tomorrow right?" She said in a quiet voice.

"No," I exhaled, "I won't do anything I promise."

"Why don't I believe you," she laughed humorlessly.

"I won't," I sat up slightly resting my elbow on my pillow, "dads right, me going would only make the trip more dangerous for everyone than it already is. I wouldn't do that to anyone it'd just be selfish."

"Why did you lie to dad?" She asked another question.

"What? Lie about what?"

"I saw you take aspirin earlier," she said pointedly, "and I overheard you. You lied by saying you didn't have a headache."

"Ruby you don't get it—"

"What don't I get?" She argued, sitting upright on her bed, "dad asked you a question and you didn't tell the truth. In my book that equals lying."

"How is me telling him that supposed to help anyone!" I raised my voice. Our door was shut but I'm sure dad could hear both of us being louder than usual for midnight, "I mean unless I have a name or a face I'm only going to make them more stressed out then they have to be!"

"That's not your choice!" She pointed her finger, "that's their own decision to make, but you purposefully left out information that could be critical for them to know tomorrow."

"Whatever Ruby. Why don't you just crawl out of my ass and go to bed," I hissed at her. Taking my pillow under one arm, I stomped out of the bedroom and went back downstairs to the couch.

I was so tired of being in this house were nobody understood. My dad was an adult so his focus was on the safety of his children, Ruby was young and she didn't have the perspective I did about the Wizarding World and the fate of the war.

Sooner or later I needed to escape this house because my anticipation and itch to leave was only causing arguments to spur between everyone.

When I got to the old brown sofa I couldn't help but fall on top of it and start silently crying into my hands. There was so much riding on tomorrow and I couldn't afford to mess anything up, especially since I wouldn't be there to fix any mistakes I made by telling someone I'm apprehensive over tomorrow's trip.

I let my tears dry onto my cheeks, and lay back on the uncomfortable cushions, hoping to fall into an exhaustive sleep quickly and effortlessly.

•••

I could feel myself gliding through the air, a blanket of black wrapping itself around me. The wind only pushed against my wall of robes, keeping the cold air away from my face and body.

Flashes of light seemed to dance across the sky, mingling with each other until the green seemed to overpower the red.

I watched objects in the sky fall as I flew around them, hearing murderous screams fill my ears and I giggled at the sound.

Faces went by me like flashes and although I couldn't pinpoint any of their names, they each looked so familiar. It was on the top of my tongue, but instead of fighting harder I circled around the dark sky.

Not by choice, my arm raised and I stared at the unfamiliar wand that was being held in my left hand. I saw a man on a chair fly alongside a boy with a broom, his glasses perched on the end of his nose.

I felt threatened by the raven haired boy both internally and externally, so without a second though I shot a green spell and watched it spiral towards my intended target.

However, instead of watching the raven haired boy fall to his demise, he evaporated into thin air, and the light hit the man in his chair full on in the chest.

I watched the life leave his face, as the one functioning blue eye turned dull and he dropped from my view into the tall land of grass below.

•••

I woke up.

And screamed.
