A/n: so I have been seeing more and more news about school shooting in America and my heart goes to those family who loses their family member in that attack. So to shading some light, here is this chapter. I know I cant portray real feelings but i just want to right about it.
Y/n y/l/n, a chubby and bubbly 17 year old girl. Best friends with almost all school, but close to Austin Jackson, Harrison Osterfield, Tom Holland and Gemma Johnson. Life of her in school is simple and unproblematic. She has never done anyone wrong. But her life turns upside down today. Let's see what happens.
Y/n's PoV:~
"Y/N, WAKE UP!!!" Y/b/n shouted while jumping on me. I groaned loudly while trying to pry him off me. "Isn't alarm enough to wake me up. Now get your irritating ass off me. You are heavy!!!" I exclaimed as he giggled and ran away. I sighed and took my phone from nightstand. I was still lying in my bed because I am too lazy in morning. Well everyone is lazy to wake up in morning. As I went through my notification panel, I saw messages from Harrison. A small smile made it's way on my face. After answering them, I got up and went to washroom to shower. I had unsettling feeling in pit of my stomach but I dont know why. I quickly showered and got changed in my outfit. I then did my hair in simple pony before grabbing my bag and going downstairs. That feeling was settling more in stomach and my face was literally pale. My mum noticed me coming down. "Are you ok hun? You look like you have seen ghost." My mum said with voices laced with concern. "I am ok mum. Just feeling weird." I said as I took a seat on breakfast table. Dad kept his newspaper aside. "These days are too dangerous. There was a shooting again in Atlantis school. At this rate, no student is safe in school. I think I will try to encourage my boss to transfer me back to England. I never thought living in America will be a nightmare." My dad said as he sipped on Yorkshire tea. Yes, my dad is British. And I am half American and half British. But I was feeling more and more dreadful as time passed by. "What happened y/n? You look like you will be sick any time." My dad said while keeping his cup aside. "I am good dad. Just feeling weird. And it is expected. It's so scary with all this incident. I hope I just finish my last year with ease." I said as I ate my toast and sipped on my tea. "Everything will be alright honey. Now, take my car today. And you have to pick up Tom. His dad is out of town. And his mum is too scared to send him cab. So your mum told her that you will be picking him up." Dad said as he passed the car key to me. Now a days he dont send us through cabs and bus. I finished my breakfast and said byes to my family and went in my car. I started to drive towards Tom's house. The uneasy feeling getting more strong. "What the fuck is wrong with me today?!!!" I growled as I pulled near Tom's house. I honked my horn to alert him. Hearing the horn, Tom raced out of his house and came by my car. He opened the door and sat in passenger seat. "Hi." He said as closed the car door and buckled his seat belt. "Hey. So I heard, Harrison and you are trying out for new marvel movie?" I said as I started the car and drove on away. "Ummm... how do you know?" He asked me with extreme nervous expression. "Dude, you sent a snap about that. Phew that it was in my chat." I said and he face palmed. "Damn it, I thought it was Austin, that's why I wonder why he didnt answered the snap. Harrison didnt wanted to tell because he wanted it as surprise for summer." Tom said with nervous laugh. "By the way, Austin hasn't answered my text." I said to him as I took a turn. "Yep same here. He didnt even showed up for game marathon." He said as the silence took place. The drive was silent with ocassional phone's notifications sound.
As we reached in school I parked my car and me and Tom got out of car and I locked it. "So any plans for summer?" Tom asked me. "Not major. But after graduation, dad is taking us back to London. He is scared to live here." I said as I swing my bag around my shoulder. "Same here, my mum and dad will take us back to Kingston. What about Harrison? He hasn't talked about that topic to us." Tom asked me as we entered the school. "I think his family is thinking the same. Its gonna be weird to blend in." I said as we reach our lockers. Surprisingly Tom and me were allotted lockers beside each other. Harrison on the other hand had two rows away from us. We walked to section b of the lockers where Harrison's locker was. "Heya fellas!!" A familiar voice exclaimed as we felt a pair of hands wrapping around our shoulders. "Heya super energetic Gemma!!" I exclaimed before dissolving into full fits of laughter. "I am because I had a whole jug of orange juice because I am pissed off on Austin. He ditch the date we scheduled yesterday." Gemma said with a huff. "Damn, I feel lucky to be single." Tom said with a laugh. "Oh hello, I am having great dating life." I said with mock offence. I spotted certain dirty blonde stuff of hair among the students. Harrison was keeping his bag with some worried expressions. I freed myself from Gemma's hold and went towards Harrison swiftly. "Hey, you look stress." I said as I reached him. He looked up and tried to fake smile but failed. "Its nothing, just my mum is scared and she convinced dad to shift back to their home town." Harrison said with a sign. "Well to see I am shifting back to London too." I said with half smile. He tried to smile but something else is bothering him. I can tell. "Hey, tell me truth. Please?" I asked him while I kept my hand on his cheek. He touched my hand before heaving a sigh. "I am worried about Austin. He havent answered any of my text since the day he got kicked out of football team. And it's a week." Harrison said and showed me his phone. Austin has read all the texts. "I know. Same here. He was only contact with Gemma, but he ditched her too on their date. Something is wrong. He is not even here." I said as I pointed the locker beside him. "I know, and its scaring me shitless. We know how he is." Harrison said as Tom and Gemma finally decided to interrupt. "What's going on? Its like both have seen a ghost." Gemma said with a smile. "Its Austin. I am scared and worried about him." Harrison said as he fiddled with his script of the play he participated in and psychology book. "Well we will worry about him later. If two of you dont mind, let's go to Mrs. Shia's class ASAP. She will eat us alive if we are late." Tom interrupted when the bell rung. We all rushed to class.
For almost all classes Austin was absent making Gemma worried and pissed off at the same time. Harrison was more than worried because he kept blaming himself for being the reason of kicking of Austin out of football team. It was lunch time and we were all sitting on lunch table eating food. "So you all 3 are shifting to London? And decided to tell me now?!" Gemma exclaimed while stabbing her food. "I got to know today myself." I defended my self as I sipped on my orange juice. "My parents decided yesterday night." Tom said as ate his apple. "I didnt wanted to upset anyone." Harrison said with small voice. I kept my hand on his hand squeezed it in reassuring manner. "I am going to kill aus-" her sentence was cut off with a bullet firing. Everyone panicked and started to hide under the table. Harrison grabbed my hand dragged me under the table. I saw a pair of legs coming in view from under side of table. "Dont be afraid. I wont hurt anyone. I just need someone." I heard familiar voice. Dread settled in the pit of my stomach. "Austin." Gemma whispered shocked. "Come out Harrison. I need you to face me. You were the reason I lost my football career." Austin shouted and I felt Harrison become stiff beside me. I saw Tom using his phone. I saw Harrison shivering badly. I took a deep breath and kissed him before slipping out of his grip.
Harrison's PoV:~
I saw y/n slipping away. I was just going to go behind her but a pair of hands stop me. "Let me Go. She is going to get herself killed." I tried to get myself out of their grip. "Police is on their way. Just stay calm." Gemma tried to re assure me. "HOW CAN I BE CALM!!!" I whisper shouted at Gemma. "Austin, listen keep your gun down. We can talk it through." I heard y/n's voice started to talk. I give my full attention there. She was standing infront of Austin, with Austin pointing gun at her. "Its too late. He has to pay back. He took away everything. My crush, my first love, my career. Everything." He started to talk with his finger close to the trigger. Y/n started to walk towards him. YOU IDIOT!!! WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?!!! I tried to get out of under the table again and succeeded. "Stay there OSTERFIELD. Otherwise you pretty ity bity gf will pay the price." Austin said as y/n stopped walking and stare at me with wide eyes. Great, I made her life more vulnerable. "Austin listen, football accident wasnt my fault nor it was yours. It was coach's decision to choose me over you. I am sorry about that. And about taking your crush and love, I never knew you love her in that way. And I liked her way before the time. I plucked the courage and asked her out." I said to him with patience. "I dont care what's your explanation. I hate you soo much that I destroyed Gemma's life as I lead her on when I dont love her not even an inch." He shouted. Y/n tried to use this distraction and moved faster towards Austin. But Austin saw that and pulled the trigger. Everything happen so fast. After that bullet was fired another bullet was fired and Austin's gun was on floor and his hand bleeding. But only person I was focused was on y/n. She was lying on floor, with eyes open and blood every where. I rushed to her. I was shaking soo badly. I took her in my arms. "T...this wasnt suppose to happen. Why.....why you did this?!! Why?!!" I sobbed loudly. I brought her body close to mine.
Third person's PoV:~
Austin was arrested, but he was too shocked of his own action. He killed the person he loved. He killed her. How is he supposed to live with the guilt? How was he suppose to look in the eyes of her parents? What was he thinking?! Why he acted on his jealousy. "Please wake up y/n, I love you, please do not leave. You were suppose to walk with me on red carpet of my new movie. I made to the list. Baby, wake up!!" Austin saw his best friend, or ex bestfriend, cradling the bloody body of the person who was suppose to be with him not Harrison. He was taken away. The last thing he saw was Harrison crying loudly while he hugged y/n, dead y/n, close to his chest while y/n laid there lifeless. Harrison's life took 360° turn in just few seconds. He saw his girlfriend die infront of his eyes. He was bawling his eyes out. Tom and Gemma stood there and saw the scene unfold. Gemma was crying with silent tears. What was she suppose to do? Cry on her best friend's dead? Or on the fact that she was killed by her suppose to be lover? What was she to do now? Tom stood there, tears not coming out due to shock he witnessed. Unknowingly, he had last ride with his sister. They were best friend but Tom considered her as his sister. Was that the last time they had deep talk? Was she not coming back and crack jokes on his inability of keeping secret? Now who will answer his snap with hilarious answer? The school witnessed the end of their chubby school mate. Only voice that could be heard was, ambulance siren, police siren, people whispering, and Harrison's heart wrenching sobs. He didnt let anyone touch y/n. Then Tom came and hugged Harrison tightly, as paramedics took y/n's body away. "Leave me Tom. They are taking her away. What am I supposed to answer her family???" Harrison stuttered in the sentence. Tom couldn't help but let his tears slip. What will happen now? How is he suppose to help Harrison? How is he suppose to comfort y/n's family? These were only questions running through his mind.
On the other side. Y/d/n came home early, in Hopes to spend time with his daughter and son. But when he reached home, he got a call from school. "Hello, Mr. Y/l/n speaking?" The voice from opposite line asked. Y/m/n brought water for y/d/n. "Yeah, how can I help you today?" He asked with a smile, he didnt knew what was gonna hit him now. "I am sorry to inform you, but Ms. Y/n died in school shooting." The voice informed. The shock was hard that the glass he took, slipped from his hand and crashed on ground and glass shattered everywhere. His daughter his princess, the person who could take his stress away with her talks during dinner, is no more. Tears started to spill and he broke down in tears. Y/m/n became alert and tried to calm him. "Honey, what's wrong?" She asked as she took his phone and kept aside. "Y/n, my princess, my daughter. She..." He trailed off while talking. "What happened to her?!!" Y/m/n became anxious and started to cry because she knew it can be bad. "She got shot. She is dead." He said and went in sobbing fit again. There was bell on the door. Y/n's mom with strength went there and opened the door to find y/b/n. "There was shooting in some school, so we... Mum what's wrong? Why are you crying?" He said as he kept his bag on the ground as he came inside and saw his mum crying. "Your sister was shot." She said before completely breaking down. "Mum you are kidding me? Right?" He asked with caution in his voice. When there was no respond, he went in shock mode and slid down the wall with tears falling freely. Their life was turn 360° and they didnt had any say in it.
Right now, Gemma's family, Tom's family and Harrison's family were trying to calm down y/n's family, and Harrison who were crying non stop as the body of y/n was given them back. Harrison was on the ground and crying with tight grip on his hair and continuously blaming himself. Y/m/n trying to wake y/n up with shaking her. Her son was in grip of Gemma's dad, who saw y/d/n crying like that for the first time. Everyone's heart broke as they saw a family grieving their daughter's, and Harrison grieving his gf's death. Austin's family was stood behind with a hint of shame. Austin's sister approached y/b/n, who just enveloped her in a hug. With some courage, they approached the dead girl's parents. Y/m/n first gave cold shoulder to Austin's mum. But then hugged her and cried her heart out. Austin's father just couldn't handle this and started to apologize for what his son did. It was irreversible for life. An innocent soul is dead, and there is nothing to help.
It was the day of funeral. The weather was rather gloomy as nobody had heart to say anything. Everyone sitting in church with black clothes. Harrison sitting with y/n's family as he kept staring ahead. Austin's dad, his dad, Tom's dad, and y/n's dad brought the coffin which had y/n inside the coffin. As they kept the coffin on the ground, priest opened the coffin to bless her with holy water. There was a photo of her, smiling vibrantly, with a dig in her hand. But now, in coffin, her face devoid of life. Blue lips, eyes shut. Harrison couldn't help but let out a sob. In that church nobody couldn't helped, but felt their heart ache, as they saw the father of the daughter cry over the coffin of his daughter. Priest started his prayer.
Harrison was emotionless as he lifted one side of coffin. Her coffin was kept near her grave. "Before we bury her inside. Please keep her favourite things inside her coffin." Priest instructed. Gemma initiated with keeping her beloved glasses. Tom keeping her personal diary inside it. Tom managed to get copy of her diary for Harrison. Her mum kept, her baby shoes inside. Her dad kept their picture together. Her brother kept her trophy, she won when she debated with a college student. It was Harrison's turn. He looked down to the promise ring, he was going to gift her. He approached her and slipped that ring on her finger, and took a longing look at her last time as the lid was shut. "Any last words for her?" Priest asked everyone. Harrison lifted his hand shakily. "Y/n, a carefree, unproblematic girl. I was so in love with you, I had a dream. That dream had you. Me, you, and our children. In a house full of memories. But, now you are no more. My dream is tore apart. It was my mistake. I am the reason you are there. It was supposed to be me, not you." He said as he wiped his tears. He took a deep sigh and let the tears fall again. "I wish I had more time with you. I wanted to cherish you, I wanted to spend every single time of life with you. I want to hear your laughter once again. I want you to talk deeply with me once again. I want to hold you once again. Just for last time. I love you." Harrison said but now he couldn't go on. Everyone there felt their heart break all over once again. The priest then went on with ceremony. Her coffin was laid in the grave. There were only sound of sobs now. No birds chirping, nothing. Every one started to throw soil on her grave. Finally the coffin was no more in the sight. Harrison stood there emotionless as he stare at the tombstone

Everyone slowly left the graveyard, except Harrison, who kept staring at the grave. He slowly kept daisy on her grave. "I love you know that, dont you?" He asked her but the difference was, she didnt answered back.
