Completely taken aback by her silence, he put his hands at his hips and stared at the swinging door for another few seconds thinking about their debate a few minutes back. He was neither mad at her nor their baby. Of course not! How could he be mad at either of them? It was just that he was mad at the situation they were in and he always hated when things didn't go as per his plans.
Still unable to believe her reaction, he left the bathroom only to find her sitting on the chair sketching something in her book. Of course his eyebrows shot up in surprise. Here he was discussing something so important and there this woman not only ignored his presence but found that freaking sketching book more important.
Scrunching his eyebrows, he walked towards her saying, "What do you think you are doing? I am talking about something and you just walked out?" But all this poor man got in response was silence. She didn't even look at him.
"I am talking to you woman..."
But even before he could complete what he was saying, she closed the book and stood up. A smirk crossed his face thinking that he managed to bring her attention back but she paid no heed to him and simply walked towards the balcony.
Needless to mention, she successfully wiped off that thick smirk from his face without even uttering a word.
Talk about ignorance!
"Did she just ignore me?" He muttered running his fingers through his hair while she picked the water sprinkler and started sprinkling water on the plants as if this was the prime thing at that moment. Biting his lower lip a little, he walked towards her and threw his hands in the air asking, "Why the hell are you ignoring me now?"
"Talk to me!"
And when she didn't reply even this time, he grabbed the water sprinkler from her hand and set it on the floor saying, "Just leave this for a while and talk to me!"
Even before he could turn around and grab her, she moved away and stepped inside trying her level best not to break her silence. Only god knew how hard she was trying to keep quiet and carry on with her nonchalant behavior. But she knew she had to stay strong otherwise this man would go on and on shouting without even thinking straight.
When he saw her lying down on the bed turning her back towards him, he scrunched his eyebrows and asked sharply, "What's wrong with you? I am trying to talk to you."
And when he received no response just like earlier, he rolled his eyes and walked towards the other side of the bed. Her hand was protectively wrapped around her belly and she had closed her eyes as if hinting that she was least interested in talking to him.
Heaving a deep sigh, he looked at the ceiling trying to calm down his frustration. He wasn't mad at her or their little baby. He was just mad at the situation they were in and to some extent he was mad at himself too for taking this so far.
Because one look at how she had protectively wrapped her arm around her belly, he could easily tell how much she loved the little pea inside her womb. He finally understood what this was all about.
And to be honest even though he resisted the whole idea, but for some reason, he was looking forward to what was in store for them. And he would do anything for his wife and her happiness because he can never stay away from her.
Biting his lower lip, he looked at her pretty face and asked again, "What's going on in your mind? Why are you avoiding me?"
His lips curled up a little when he saw her turning the other side without giving him a response. Oh this woman knew what she was doing. She knew how much it would bug him if she stopped talking to him. It felt like his anger and frustration flew out of the window.
He can never be mad at her and if they were having a baby then let it be. It was bound to happen sooner or later. She was right and he felt proud of her that she was able to see things clearly instead of freaking out like him. That proved that she was emotionally much stronger than him and he could see how well she would be able to take care of everything. And being her husband he was going to stand by her all his life. For sure, it wasn't what he planned for now but life is full of surprises isn't it? To be honest, he wouldn't have understood this if it wasn't for her to divert his attention with all her silence play. She indeed brought his mind right on track.
And now that he knew what was going on in her mind and why she was doing it, he would get her talking by hook or by crook.
Sitting next to her, he placed his arms on either side of her body making sure she had no room to turn and whispered softly, "Mahima!"
"Mahima!"
And when she didn't respond, a devilish grin crossed his face.

"AAAHHHH!"
Her eyes shot open and she sat straight in a flip of a second. He rolled his fingers and clenched his fist as if he was in great pain. Grabbing his arm, she started checking for any injuries asking worriedly, "Kay zala? Aapla laagla ka?" (What happened? Did you hurt yourself?)
She was so worried but little did she know that her husband had tricked her.
Evil Eric!
As she realized how he had played her in her own game, she left his palm and looked away pouting. And even before she could go back with the silent treatment, he caged her in his arms and looked into her eyes saying, "I am so sorry sweetheart! I was really insensitive with you. I apologize for my behavior towards you. I just want to say that I wasn't mad at you. I was just upset that you will be in so much pressure. I was upset that things didn't go as planned but then I realized that you a strong woman and I will always be there for you, in every step of our lives. You were right sweetheart. And if you can set me straight then you can do anything. I promise to love you and our baby with all my heart. For sure this is a big step for both of us but I give you my word that, you are not alone in this. Just don't stop talking to me, I can't bear it. And I really apologize for the way I spoke to you earlier. Can you forgive me? Please?"
Now, how was she not supposed to give in?
As tears pooled in her eyes, she nearly jumped in his lap and threw her arms around his neck sobbing softly, "I am sorry too. I hate to fight with you and it killed me so much for not talking to you. I missed you so much. And I love you so, so, so much."
Chuckling softly, he hugged her tighter than ever and whispered back, "I missed you a lot and I love you too sweetheart! To the moon and back."
As the breeze played with her silky soft hair, he gently set back a strand of hair behind her ear and brushed her cushiony soft cheeks with the back of his fingers. While their eyes did the talking, he brought her face closer to his and captured her luscious lips with his own. Now this time, this kiss was not a hard core tingling one but it was a sweet kiss that conveyed his deep love for her and his promise for their happy life ahead.
Her lips curled up when he gently kissed the tip of her nose and whispered, "So, should we go to the doctor and meet our little one?" Biting her lower lip ever so shyly, she nodded her head and whispered back, "Yes, and then we will inform everyone."
"As you say wifey!"

"Look at that tiny black dot; that is your baby."
The doctor said pointing at the screen while Mahima bit her lower lip and stared at the screen for the longest time. She was so happy to see their baby for the first time.
Even though the little one is still not in her arms, she could already picture that day when she could finally hold her little baby. She could already hear those cute little sounds her baby would make and she could already picture out the little one running here and there all around the house.
As fresh happy tears pooled in her eyes, she turned her head and looked at Eric who was still staring at the screen with a look of admiration playing on his face. One look at him and she knew what a great father he would be in future.
A small smile took room on her pretty face thinking how protective and possessive he will turn out. Yes, with the way he was with her and the rest of his family, it wasn't a surprise if he turned out overly protective of his kids. And if they had a baby girl then obviously he was going put a bodyguard in every corner of this world for sure!
Gently curling her fingers over his arm she smiled at him sweetly while he snapped out of his thoughts and whispered, "I can't believe we made a baby. This is amazing."
If she wasn't wrong she thought she saw his eyes turning glossy for just a second. This only screamed how much he was going to love their baby.
Their revere of thoughts broke when the lady doctor cleared her throat and said, "I think I see something else."
Hearing this, the couple snapped their heads at her in absolute worry and shared a quick look with one another.
"Is there something wrong? Is my wife okay? Is my baby okay? What's wrong?" He nearly bombarded a ton of questions while Mahima inhaled sharply praying Lord Shiva. The mere thought of something wrong just scared them to no end.
"There is nothing to worry. But this is important..." The doctor tried to tell them but obviously an extremely impatient and worried Eric had to interrupt her. Didn't he?
"What's wrong?"
"Mr. Salvatore, you need to calm down. Your wife is absolutely fine and the baby is fine too. It's just that, your wife is carrying two babies and they are non-identical twins. I can see two g-sacs." As the doctor cleared the confusion pointing at the screen while Eric and Mahima stared back at the screen with shocked expressions playing on their faces.
"Twins?" As Eric muttered running his fingers through his hair, Mahima cupped her mouth lightly and whispered, "Two babies?"
To say she was shell shocked would be such an understatement. She never thought about this scenario; like ever! And now she couldn't help but wonder what must be going on in her husband's mind. Because with the way he freaked out earlier, what if he flips again? Giving birth to twins can be a whole new different story.
She was praying for one baby and here she was blessed with two!
As she gently pressed his hand offering him the much needed support, he looked back at her and smiled softly. Hunching down a little, he kissed her on her forehead ever so lovingly and whispered, "Don't worry, everything will be fine."
As she heaved a sigh of relief, he looked at the doctor and asked, "Twins? I am sure we need to take extra care now. Right?"
"That's right! Don't worry, everything will be fine. Both the babies look fine but you need to ensure that your wife has to eat properly. For sure she is healthy but pregnancy asks a lot more than that. And now that she is carrying twins, you need to be extra careful. Ensure that she is on the right diet, regular exercises and happy atmosphere. She is falling back in proteins and essential vitamins so; you need to ensure that she has good diet. I will also recommend few fluids that will help her." The lady doctor said writing down the prescription while Eric glared at Mahima practically grilling her for eating so less.
As another thought struck his mind, he looked at the doctor and stated, "So obviously, she must not fast while she is pregnant right?"
"Of course! No fasting. She needs to eat every single day."
Of course her eyes popped out of their sockets. Monday fasts were so important for her and now she wasn't supposed to fast? But then again she knew she was doing this was for her babies.
As the doctor continued writing on the prescription sheet, Eric looked at Mahima and mouthed, "Finally no more fasting!"
Nodding her head like an obedient child, she lowered her gaze and thought, if she started fasting for Eric all these years then she would stop fasting for their kids' health. Well at least till they are born.
