Chapter 22
KHALI
I waited for Trey to tell me about my sister. I just hope it's nothing bad. Shaun looked at me, waiting too.
I heard crying in the background and Lee's voice?
:Trey whats going on? Is that Lee?
I realized Trey had hung up. This niqq'h.
"So I'm guessing, Lee is okay?" Shaun asked.
"I don't know. Trey hung up," I informed.
Shaun sighed, cursing under his breath. He got his phone and called someone then a smile broke out on his face. I furrowed my eyebrows.
LEE
I came to the trap with my girl, Denyque. She was one of my closest friends although young, she was real. I needed to enjoy myself a bit and I honestly forgot to tell Mike I was coming home late. I had went and get dressed at Denyque's and came to the party.
I was there dancing when shots started firing and everyone scattered. It was a shoot out and I didn't know where Denyque was. I was worried.

After the shoot out I went looking for Denyque and I couldn't call her because she had my phone. I looked everywhere and I stumbled outside. I saw Drew and he was down shaking an all too familiar body. The all too familiar black dress was still hugging her body. Drew kept testing her pulse and I saw something glisten, rolling down his cheeks. He was whispering, testing her pulse over and over. I stood there, shocked. When I got the strength, I ran over to her screaming her name. I dropped down to my knees beside her body and felt how cold she got. No, her skin colour was now drained and there was no life in her.
"No! No! No! Not Denyque! Come on girl, wake up! You play too f'kn much! " I cried, hugging her body and when I looked, blood was oozing out her chest, soaking the black material of her dress.
Drew kept rubbing her cheek. He even kissed her lips then that's when I heard his sobs. He got up,
"F'k!" He yelled in the night air.
"Lee!" I heard that familiar voice I love.
Mike. I got up and ran in his arms crying.
"She's dead, Mike." I cried.
He comforted me and memories with her came crashing down on me.
Flashback.
"B get out ma bathroom!" I yelled laughing.
"You know you want all this coochie." She teased.
"Naw! I ain't want none of that stank thang you got. Why you ain't at school, little girl?" I asked.
"I'm tired." She shrugged.
"Yea, yet you still got time to harass me."
"Morning." Mike walked in.
"Oooh so you all wanna harass today. It is totally cool," I said.
"Whatever babe, don't let me interrupt your shower." He chuckled.
"It's already interrupted. Why aren't you at the business?" I asked.
"I was tired."
Oh really now?
We laughed and talked and even joined in singing while I showered. It was the last moment we all had together.

TREY
I saw how Drew was acting and honestly, I never knew Denyque was that important to him. I thought she was just a friend he would hit on a regular basis. She was a cool person, the times I was in her company. Drew, however, saw something more than a cool person. She seemed to be someone he loved.
The police had came taking all the bodies including Denyque's. As Drew watched the body get taken away, he looked cold. Drew. Out of all the persons. The jokester. Cold. Mike came over to him and told him something. He barely acknowledged him. I didn't know what to do with Drew in this state.
KHALI
I sat there , watching TV with Shaun, still wondering about Lee. My phone rang. It was Drew.
:Hey Drew.
Drew: Lee's fine.
Drew sounded pissed. What happened?
:Drew whats the matter with you?
Drew: De- Can I come over?
: Yea sure Drew.
He hung up. When I could have a breath of air, I couldn't. Drew.

Drew came some time after with Trey. I let them in and Drew gave Trey a look so Trey and Shaun retreated upstairs, whispering between themselves. Drew walked in the kitchen, poured himself some water, and I sat on the island top. He came in between my legs with his hands on either side. He looked down and I felt something wet hit my legs. I lifted Drew's head and saw he was crying.
"Drew. Tell me whats wrong," I said.
He looked at me a minute.
"Denyque's gone," He said.
"What, Drew? Gone?" I asked confused.
"Dead, Khal," He said through gritted teeth.
I sighed and let Drew cry in my lap, while I comforted him. After two minutes or so, he looked up at me as if he was studying me.
"F'k it." I heard him mumble before he captured my lips with his.
I was surprised and I stupidly kissed back. Drew was in a vulnerable state right now and didn't know what he was doing. My mind was telling me no, but my body that was in need of sumn' good was saying yes. After my mind took control, I pulled away from Drew who surprisingly continued and went to my neck.
"Stop. Trey." I whispered pushing him away.
"What about me? Continue." Trey stood at the pathway and rolled his eyes walking away. Damn.
I jumped off the island after hearing Drew mumbling a 'sorry'. Before Trey could reach the door, I grabbed his arms which he snatched away like I was some type of pest. I went in front of him, putting my hands on his chest. He removed them trying to get around me. I got in his pathway again.
"Trey. Listen." I pleaded.
"I ain't got nothin' to listen to. Move Khaliana," He said.
He's f'kn pissed.
"Trey. Just listen, I'm sorry. What you saw in there was nothing," I explained.
"Khaliana, move. I don't want to hurt you," He said calmly, breathing heavy.
"Listen to me. Drew was in a vulnerable state and I was in a state. Just calm down and understand that was a mistake," I said, hoping he would forgive us.
"Khaliana, just stop talking and move before I do..." He trailed off.
"Do what Trey? It was a mistake. Come on. You know as you can see, I wouldn't let anything go that far plus, you're acting like I did something more."
"KHALIANA! I don't give a f'k what that was, how it was! I don't care, you guys should've just f'kd. First Shaemar, now ma' damn brother! I don't know what the f'k is wrong with you!" Trey yelled, "Well at least they can give you what I won't be giving you again. Hoe."
"What the fuck? Trey, how many times I have to tell you, Shaemar and I are just friends. Drew, I told you that was a mistake and I wouldn't go so far to f'k nobody, you saw when I stopped him. Hoe, really?" I voiced.
"Khaliana, just get the f'k out my way." Trey shook his head.
By now, Mom, Dad, Khalil and Shaun came down.
"You ain't going nowhere, Trey. Not until we sort this out!" I semi-yelled.
"Hey, whats going on?" Dad chimed.
"Sir can you please tell your daughter to move? I don't wanna further anything right now." Trey asked.
"Dad, we don't need you now. Stay outa this, please." I looked at my dad.
My dad froze for a bit and without a next word, he went back upstairs bring Mom with him. Trey groaned and let out a frustrated sigh.
"Gosh. Why the stubborn one , Lord?" He mumbled to himself, holding his head with his eyes closed.
I rolled my eyes and used all my strength to grab him by his shirt, pulling him to my room. When we reached the room, I pushed him on the bed, straddling him.
"Get the hell off me Khaliana, with yo hoe ass." Trey grumbled.
I gripped his package hard and grabbed his face in my other hand, looking him straight in his eyes.
"Trey, stop calling me a f'kn hoe! I ain't one. Now this situation we can sort it out, forget it and move on with our relationship or we can end this shit right here. It's your choice, Trey," I said in a low tone.
After looking at his pained face, I let go of his package and sat up. He looked at me. I sighed.
"Trey, I'm not gonna stress over some stupid sh't with you so just choose."
He looked at me, not saying a word. Just silence.
"Are you f'kn serious Trey? You tell me to trust you because you want this thing to work. I did. How do you expect it to work if you don't trust me? Huh? I am not involved with Shaemar, believe that! I don't want him, cuz' I have you and I love you! Sh't. Forget what happened with Drew, I forgot when Alex kissed you the first time we got together. Did I trip? No, because I knew that there was nothing on your side for her. Stop with this sh't and tell me are you willing to give up what we got over something stupid? Tell me so I can move the f'k on now!" I yelled in his face.
Trey pushed me off him and got up.
"I need a break," Trey said.
"Break from what?"
"I need to think. So, therefore I need a break, " He said.
"You can keep thinking cuz' I ain't taking no break with yo ass. It's either we done or not." I challenged.
He shook his head and walked out.
Well, I guess I am done with Trey.
