CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND NINE

・・・☽✥☾・・・

"WE NEED NEW CODENAMES."

"No the fuck we don't- do you know how hard it was for us four to come up with the marauders and then individual nicknames after that. We called Peter 'Droppings' for weeks."

Cassie furrowed her eyebrows as she glanced over at Peter, who nodded while his face flushed a soft red.

"Moving swiftly on," she said with a small shake of her head, "I already came up with the names."

Everyone groaned but they were soon to stop when Cassie threw her cup, which was luckily plastic, but unluckily full of water, at Sirius.

"I hate you."

"Awe, feelings mutual."

It was the final week of the summer holidays, Cassie had no idea how the summer had gone so quickly but the next week began September 1st and meant that it was the beginning of their final year at Hogwarts.

No-one had talked about going back to Hogwarts yet, but it was approaching quicker that they would like to believe.

They all received their letters weeks ago, but other than getting their equipment list, no-one had opened the letter further.

For Cassie, it rested at the bottom of her trunk, away from where she would see it everyday.

Cassie didn't know if they were all in denial about their last year starting so soon because they were all already worried for their NEWT exams, or because they just didn't want to leave the place that had become their home for so many years.

Cassie knew that she didn't want to leave Hogwarts because it was the first place that she had actually felt safe.

Hogwarts was the first place that she would truly consider her home.

Hogwarts was where she met the people she would consider her family, and knew that she would call them that until the day she died.

The nine students were making the most of their final week, they were making as many plans as they possibly could before the week ended; they had plans to meet up with Dylan and Will again; as well as going to Brighton Pier to go to the arcade; James had bought tickets for the nine of them to go to a theme park that opened a few miles away from his house.

But that night, they were all just sitting around a campfire; Cassie was sitting on James' lap and his arms were wrapped around her waist while they sat on one of Euphemia's garden chairs; Remus was laying down with his head in Sirius' lap, looking up at the stars with a small smile on his face while Sirius played with his hair.

Lily and Marlene were sitting next to each other, playing a card game; Regulus was teaching Alice about all the constellations that could be seen and Peter was roasting marshmallows over the fire with a smile, joining in on conversation when he thought he should.

They were camping out on the field behind the Potter's cottage that night, there was four muggle tents; one for Cassie and James, one for Sirius and Remus, one for Lily, Marlene and Alice and one for Peter and Regulus.

However, none of the teens thought that they would be sleeping that night.

The smoke from the fire settled in the air, creating a smoky smell that cling to each teen like glue. The stars and the moon created a painting on a black canvas that was hard for anyone to look away from; soft sounds of crickets filled the comfortable silences.

James chuckled and gave Cassie's waist a squeeze while Sirius cursed her off under his breath.

"What are our new nicknames then, love?" He asked with a grin, everyone simultaneously groaned again; but they were soon to stop when Cassie held up James' cup in a threatening way.

"From now on, you can call me Eagle One."

"What-" Sirius began, only to be cut off my Cassie.

"Don't interrupt me until I'm done talking, Eagle Two."

Sirius opened his mouth to speak, but Remus placed a handful of grass in it before he could say another word.

"Marlene, your code name is: Been There, Done That."

Marlene grinned up at Cassie and the Slytherin sent her a quick wink.

"James, you're: Currently Doing That."

James let out a chuckle and pressed a kiss to Cassie's neck, she slapped his cheek gently with a grin, before turning to Lily.

"Lily, is: It Happened Once In a Dream."

Lily's eyes widened as she faced Cassie, who bit her bottom lip over dramatically, causing Lily to burst out laughing.

"Alice, you're: If I Had To Pick A Girl."

Alice blushed slightly and grinned widely with a shy shake of her head.

"Remus, I hate to say it, but you're: If James Suddenly Died."

Remus let out a laugh while James held Cassie closer to him and pulled a tongue at his friend.

"That's it, no more code names if they include me dying and you dating my friend-"

"Wait just a second, let's not forget the fact that Remus is my boyfriend - whose even saying that he'd leave me for you if James died."

Cassie looked Sirius straight in the eyes with a raised eyebrow.

"I'm saying it."

Sirius pouted and looked down at Remus, who was laughing silently at the siblings.

"Remmy, tell Cassie you won't leave me for her."

They all let out a laugh at the worry in Sirius voice, they couldn't tell if he was really worried or if he was just joking around.

Remus sat up and faced Cassie, the fire that was just to the right of him was illuminating her face.

"Cassie, you're lovely, but I'm gay."

"Awe, okay." She replied with a fake frown. Cassie then turned to face James with a straight face. "Please don't suddenly drop dead."

James furrowed his eyebrows.

"I wasn't planning on it."

・・・☽✥☾・・・

Regulus stared up at the rollercoaster that towered above him with a slightly open mouth.

His eyes were full of awe as they reflected the cart that flew past them at what looked like the speed of light. His ears perked up at the screams that came from the people on the ride as it passed them, but for the first time in ages, he wasn't scared.

Alice and Lily chuckled at his reaction, apologising after he had suddenly stopped and bumped into a woman with her young child.

Cassie, on the other hand, looked as if she was about to shit herself.

She was gripping James' hand so hard that he was frightened that she was going to break his fingers.

Everyone else had started to queue for the ride, however James was having a hard time convincing Cassie to even step in the queue.

"Cass, love, you're not going to die-"

"How the fuck do you know?" She replied, raising an eyebrow and frowning. "What's stopping it from falling over and killing everyone on and around it upon impact?"

James let out a small snort, but covered it up with a cough when Cassie sent him a sharp look.

"Maybe the fact that it's quite literally bolted into the ground?"

Cassie rolled her eyes and looked behind James and at the rollercoaster one more time, her hair blew around her face when another cart came past the couple.

James started to drag Cassie towards the queue, but she planted her feet firmly on the ground in an attempt to stop him from moving her.

They both nearly fell flat on their faces.

James ran a hand through his hair and looked back at the queue to see that everyone else were only a few people away from the front.

He turned back to Cassie to see that she was looking up at him with an unimpressed look on her face.

"Love, it's just like riding a broom-"

James knew that the similarities between riding a broom and riding a rollercoaster were few and far between, but he was hoping that if she thought it was like something she was familiar too, it would convince her to get on the ride.

"Have you ever seen me ride a broom?"

Jame opened his mouth to respond, furrowed his eyebrows and then closed his mouth again.

"Exactly, the first time I went on a broom in first year I fell off it and broke my leg."

"That was you?"  James asked with a grin.

Cassie tilted her head to the side slightly.

"Sirius was in hysterics talking about someone who had fallen off their broom, but we never knew it was you."

Cassie shook her head and rolled her eyes.

"Of course he was."

James turned around again to face the queue, he frowned slightly when he saw that now their friends were only two people from the front, Sirius was beckoning them over with his hand.

James turned back to Cassie and lent down so that he was able to whisper in her ear.

"Come on or no sex."

Cassie pulled away from James and raised an eyebrow at him, as if she was questioning what he just said.

James only smirked at her, but his smirk faltered slightly when Cassie smirked back at him.

"Alright, no sex then." She replied.

"Wait, no-"

"You were the one who suggested it."

"I didn't actually mean it-"

"Should've thought about that before you said it Bambi."

"This is unfair."

"You have a hand."

James pouted turned around to face the queue for a moment, before facing Cassie again.

He let out a small sigh, before picking her up and throwing her over his shoulder.

"You've left me no other choice." He said.

Cassie let out a loud laugh and shook her head; her hair framed her face, and moved as James began to walk.

It covered her eyes, but there were gaps larvae enough for her to realise that James had walked straight past the queue.

"James, the ride is that way."

"We're not going on the ride-"

"Oi, where are you two going?" Marlene called out from the front of the queue. Cassie lifted her head up for a moment and shrugged her shoulders when she caught eyes with Marlene.

"The bathroom." James shouted back.

"Why the fuck are we going to the bathroom, I don't need a wee- no."

Cassie moved her head down for a second, before what James had just said registered in her mind and her head shot back up again.

James didn't reply, but Cassie knew that he was smirking.

"You're an absolute wanker."

However, she didn't protest again.
