Ever since my mom and Aunt Rose died, Julie and I have been in a slump. After getting kicked out of the music program, it got worse.

Rose was the only mother figure I had left. My dad left before I was born, my mom died 3 months before Julie's mom died. Now, no offense, all I have is ray.

And I'm constantly in Julie's shadow. People tend to forget about my same experience because Julie's happened after mine. So I pretend to be okay. I don't play music but I act fine.

Julie and I cleaned out the studio, only to find three wildly cute ghosts.

The brown haired, blue eyed one immediately caught my attention.

Julie screamed and freaked out, while I stayed back, staring at them.

"I think she's frozen in fear." The one with the leather jacket waved his hand in front of my face.

I tried hitting it away but my hand went through his.

"This is crazy."

After a few weeks, things with the band have been really picking up. I was in the studio with the boys while Julie was off somewhere.

"I totally saw the chemistry with you and Julie out though. It was great." Reggie said with a smile.

I stopped tuning my guitar and started listening.

"I have chemistry with everyone. Watch. Y/n, come here." Luke held my hand and helped me off the couch.

He started singing to me and it was mesmerizing. He want Julie. He can have Julie.

"I felt nothing." I lied. And crossed my arms.

"What? You're just different." He shook his head and walked over to Reggie, singing to him.

"That was... girls and I right?"

"No" Alex laughs.

"I think I'm gonna go to my room and go to bed. I'm pretty tired."

"Okay. Goodnight."

"Night." I gave the boys a small smile.

Once I got to my room, I went to my desk and started writing lyrics.

Your hand fits in mine like it's made just for me
But bear this mind, it was meant to be
And I'm joinin' up the dots with the freckles on your cheeks
And it all makes sense to me
I know you've never loved the crinkles by your eyes
When you smile
You've never loved your stomach or your thighs
The dimples in your back at the bottom of your spine
But I'll love them endlessly
I won't let these little things slip out of my mouth
But if I do, it's you, oh, it's you, they add up to
I'm in love with you and all these little things.

I put the paper in my own personal dream box, and set it on my desk. I fell asleep on my bed and the next morning I decided to make myself breakfast.

I went downstairs and saw Ray cooking and talking to Julie, Reggie beside ray.

"What's all this?" I asked while sitting down.

"I felt bad about ruining your guys chances with that manager lady, so I made breakfast. And I got you guys another gig."

"Really? Where?" I asked with a smile.

"Here." He smiled too.

I got a plate of food and started eating as he explained.

After explaining everything, he left the room and Julie and Reggie went out to the studio, leaving me alone. Once again.

"Hey y/n. Can I talk to you?" Alex came in?

"Yeah sure. What's up?"

"Last night I noticed you looked a little... jealous of Luke and Julie having chemistry."

"And we're back on that." I tossed my bacon down onto my plate.

"No, no, I just- do you like Luke?"

"Yeah I like Luke." I shrugged sadly. "But don't you dare say anything Alex! He totally like Julie."

"After you left, he kept asking me why you didn't feel the chemistry, but he did."

"Like he said. He has chemistry with everybody just not me I guess."

"Or you were lying."

I sighed. "You can't tell anybody. Especially Luke."

"But Luke totally like you."

"Alex. Leave it alone. Around here, I'm the second choice. Only to be chosen if something goes wrong with the first. I'm not allowed to be sad about my mom, or Julie's mom dying because everyone only ever cared about how Julie was feeling! Even you guys, she's the lead and I'm only in about half of the sets we play. Why do you guys even need me?"

"Because you're our friend and you make us better. I'm sorry you've felt like a second choice, but Luke would never intentionally hurt you."

"I'm sure." I walked away and into my room.

After about half an hour, Luke poofs in.

"How dare you say you're a second choice! Do you know how much I've changed things around for you?" He got close and pointed his finger at my chest.

"Oh you mean, cutting me out of half our set and sticking me in the back?"

"I added an entire new instrument to our songs so that you could play with us. And then come to find out you don't even enjoy doing it."

"Maybe I would enjoy doing it if you and Julie weren't always so fucking close to each other on stage."

"You're jealous. Of course you're jealous. Why is there always one jealous band mate who wants everything to go their way." He scoffed.

"Im not jealous about the band, Luke! I'm jealous because I have to watch you two fall more and more in love every time we perform!" I yelled out.

"I'm not in love with Julie. What made you think that?"

"The way you guys look at each other on stage. You have chemistry with everybody."

"Not everybody apparently. You're the first person to ever not feel something."

"I lied Luke. Obviously I felt something or I wouldn't be this upset." I sat down on my bed as he wandered over to my desk.

I didn't think about the box, but he did.

"Are these about me?"

I look over to see him holding my Lyrics.

"Yes. Now give them back!" I took them out of his hands and put them back.

"Luke for the last time, you can't just-"

Before I could finish his lips were on mine.

"Luke, Luke." I pulled away.

"Why did you-"

"I'm sorry for making you feel like a second choice. It will never happen again, love."

My mind stopped working for a second when he called me love.

"I-it's okay. Um, uh, yeah." I nodded.

"Would you-"

"Yes." I answered impatiently with a smile.

"Okay good." He smiled back.
