The past few weeks have been a struggle for Dimitri. I can see it on his face. He was raised to ignore bullies and not fight back.

Sometimes, we stay late after regular training for some 1 on 1 time. He learns better that way I think.

"Dimitri, you got this okay. I know you do. You have the techniques down."

"Techniques aren't going to get me anywhere if I'm not strong enough to carry them out, y/n."

I sighed.

"Let's go again." I got into stance and after a reluctant sigh, he did too.

I threw a punch at him and he didn't even try to block it.

He coughed and bent over in pain.

I stepped closer to him and put my hand on his back.

"I'm sorry Dimitri. How about we wrap it up up for today?"

He stood up straight again.

"How about we just don't have any more one on ones. It's clearly not helping me, okay?" He snapped.

I sighed. "Dim-"

"Just stop!" He interrupted me, "I'm a lost cause y/n it's never going to happen."

I stared at him and bit the inside of my cheek.

"If you want to give up then fine. Give up. See if I care." I angrily picked up my phone and started walking away from the dojo.

"Fine!" He yelled back at me.

I opened the door, walked out, and started walking home.

I got a call from my sister, Sam.

"Dad wants to know when you'll be home."

"I'm on my way now. I'm in front of the gas station on 5th. Dimitri and I were doing some 1 on 1."

"Ooooooh, y/n." She sounded happy.

"Not like that," I smiled. "No, I don't think he'd like that."

"The only reason he can't focus during class is because he's too focused on you."

"And how would you know this?" I shook my head with a smile.

"He talks to Robbie about you."

A smile appeared on my face. "Dimitri talks about me?" Before she could answer, I heard a familiar laugh.

"Awe. Does Princess have a crush on the nerd." Hawk teased.

"Leave me alone Eli."

"It's Hawk!" He was angry.

"Leave me alone. Hawk." I rolled my eyes and turned back around, putting the phone back up to my ear.

"Are you okay?" Sam asked me.

"I'm fine Sam-"

Hawk pushed  me, making the phone fly into the grass.

I sighed. "I'm not doing this, Hawk. Please just let me go home. I don't want to fight you."

"Good. It'll make it easier to kick your ass."

I looked at his two goons behind him, I don't even know their names.

He threw the first punch, I obviously fought back.

His two other friends joined in, and I couldn't fight back.

They beat me to the ground and wouldn't stop.

Eventually, I got up and started running, they were chasing me though.
