The wedding was beautiful. Until Kai showed up and started killing his entire coven. Everyone around us was hurt.

"Damon, Caroline, Tyler?" I stumbled around, my ears ringing.

My vision was blurry and I saw a dark haired man in front of me. "Tyler..." my voice was barely audible.

I collapsed into what I thought was Tyler's arms.

When I woke up, I was chained to a pipe in the ceiling.

I saw the same dark haired man come into focus.

"Tyler, what's going on?"

"Who the hell is tyler?"

I blinked a couple times and my vision focused.

"Who are you and what do you want from me?"

"The names Kai. Maybe you've heard of me." He shrugged and got close.

"Kai Parker. You're the high Damon was talking about... you don't seem like a sociopath to me..."

"Well I am. Hence why you're chained up. You're human right? I can't siphon anything from you."

"Yeah I'm human. We do still exist in mystic falls."

"Mystic Falls. Such a beautiful town here."

"Is there a reason you took me rather than anybody else?"

"I took one look at you and I knew."

"Knew what?"

"That we were meant for each other."

"Don't get me wrong. You're insanely hot, and this whole chained up thing is really working in your favor in the getting laid department, but if you actually believed we were meant to be together, you'd let me go."

"I can't do that just yet. I'm also using you as leverage with the Salvatore brothers."

"How so?"

"I told them I'd take you back to the prison world with me and let Bonnie out. A switcharoo."

"Am I at least allowed to say bye?"

"You're not even going to try to fight it?"

I shook my head no. "I wouldn't mind leaving if it meant Bonnie gets to come back."

"Seriously what is wrong with you!?"

"I love her. I love all of my friends. Their lives have bigger meanings than mine does. I'm human."

The next day I got to say goodbye to all my friends, and Elena.

I got to see Bonnie for five minutes before she had to leave.

"Great. Now choose a house and we can move in." Kai smiled at me.

"Um... I guess... the Salvatore house..."

For weeks I had gotten depressed. I knew I would miss my friends but I didn't know what I was getting myself into.

Kai had made us dinner, steak and mashed potatoes.

"What all did you do today?" He asked.

"Um.. not a lot. I planted some more flowers in the yard. Caroline's favorite." I gave a small smile. "How about you?"

It was hard only talking to Kai I knew I could only talk to him about so much.

"Well I killed and cooked dinner. I went down to the car shop and drive around in a new, well I guess old to you, Ford."

"That's cool. Dinner was amazing. Thank you. I feel a little bit sick though, so I'm gonna go to sleep."

"Oh, okay. Goodnight."

"Goodnight Kai." I smiled and went to my room, which was Damon's real world room.

I was definitely missing Damon the most. I've never had feelings for Damon, he has just always been my best friend since he got here.

I hugged his pillow close to my body and cried into it silently. I didn't want Kai to hear me.

"I miss all of you so much." I whispered.

I began crying louder and Kai busted through the door, probably thinking I was hurt.

When he saw me just sitting there crying, he stopped and stared.

When we made eye contact, he walked over to me and held me close to him while I cried.

This was definitely new and unexpected, but not disliked.

He laid back, making me lay on his chest while crying. His hand was rubbing my back softly.

"You don't have to do any of this if it makes you uncomfortable." I sat up slowly

"No, no it doesn't. I feel good."

I stared at him, he was being genuine.

I gave him a small smile and a kiss on the cheek.

"Thank you Kai." I laid back down on his chest.

When I woke up, our legs were tangled together and his arm was still around me.

"Kai." I whispered.

I'll let him sleep.

I went out into the garden to water the plants.

"Y/n? Y/n!" I heard Kai our at the front of the house. I quickly walked over and saw him bent down in the grass crying.

I ran over to him and put my hand on his shoulder.

"Kai, what happened? Are you hurt?" I asked worriedly.

He looked up at me in shock.

"I-I thought you left. I woke up and you weren't there. I looked in the whole house."

"I'm so sorry, Kai. I didn't want to wake you up. I didn't know what time you fell asleep and I just came out to water the flowers." I explained. I hugged him while he laid his head on my chest. "I'm not going to leave you Kai. I promise I will never leave you."

He pulled away from the hug and I took my thumbs and wiped his tears.

"I'm not going to leave you." I repeated. "I promise."

"I don't deserve you. You deserve to be with your friends, not some sociopathic heretic."

"Well this sociopathic heretic deserves someone to be there, to protect him from his thoughts, and love him forever... change me. Please Kai, I'm begging you."

He bit his wrist and I drank it, he then put his hands on my jawline, ready to snap my neck.

"Wait!" I grabbed his hands, which were still on me.

I pressed my lips against his.

"Don't break my neck. Drain me. That way you at least get fresh human blood one last time."

"Are you sure? It's going to be painful."

"I'm sure."

He nodded, and bit my neck.

My hand held his wrist tightly in pain. I moaned with every small movement either one of us made. It hurt so bad, but I knew he was enjoying it.

Eventually, I was dead. And when I woke up, I was wearing a wedding ring.

"It's your new daylight ring." He said from the doorway.

"I love it." I smiled. I felt so... liberated.

"Kai..."

"Y/n."

"I'm thirsty."

"Luckily for you I saved you some of your own blood."

I drank it and it tasted funny. But refreshing.

"What do you want to do first?"

"I think you already know what I want to do first." I looked him up and down.

"I am not opposed to that idea."
