Chapter Thirty-Nine: Unexpected Surprise

Crystal Rose had always been a safe haven for the trio. They certainly had some great times at Hogwarts, ignoring how they had almost died two school years in a row, but it was always great to return home and be able to use their powers in the open.

Since coming home, Krinos had spent the majority of his time in the Crystal Rose greenhouse. The plants they studied in Herbology were certainly unique considering they were wand-user magical plants, but he missed the more enchanting plants that he and the other nature mages grew in the greenhouse. He did need to grow more illusion blossoms after giving that bunch of flowers to Fred that one Yule. Other nature mystic souls often seen with Krinos were Lily Valley, a mystic soul with the power of Nature's Enchantment magic. Meaning she could create mystical effects by combining enchantments and plants. There was also White Forest, who had the power of Nature's Beasts magic. He was able to shapeshift into magical creatures, but with all of them being made out of plants that gave each shift a nature magic kick.

Melody spent a lot of her time in the Crystal Rose music room. She loved not just playing the instruments, but the magical effect that her power has on them. Like creating a sonic wave similar to her sonic scream when she played the violin or when she can call a pain-inflicting shriek when playing a flute. There was no music class, magical or mundane, at Hogwarts. So she was happy to be back in her element. Other music/sound mages also liked to be in the music room with her. Like Orchid Violet, a girl that had Vocal Manipulation magic. She not only could mimic a banshee scream or siren song but could also change her voice to sound like anything or anyone. There was also Angel Harmony, a mage of Enchanted Instrument magic. She was able to conjure musical instruments that had magical effects when she played them. Similar to Melody's power when she played regular instruments.

Harry was constantly seen in the Crystal Rose stables. Part was because he was making up for all the missed days that he was unable to have baby animal duty when at Hogwarts. But most of it was because he generally missed all animals in the stables. Since he could talk to them, it was a lot easier for him to care for them. Care of Magical Creatures was the only class related to creatures that was taught at Hogwarts. But there was so much more to them than what could be taught by wand-users. Sofia was always welcome company in the stables. But she did tend to have a habit of shapeshifting when she was there just to mess with Harry a little bit. Another mystic soul that was usually there was Charlie Draco, a Dragon Shifter mage from Romania that had the power to shapeshift into any dragon he desired. In fact, most of his shifts were what inspired the movie How To Train Your Dragon. Good thing the person that made it was a squib, so it was okay that he knew about magic.

Currently, all three were in their happy places.

Krinos raised his hands, his eyes glowing. In front of him grew a tall tree. It was a special willow tree that he had created known as the Fruit Rainbow Willow. Each branch had a different fruit growing on it. And not just normal things like apples and lemons, but also exotic fruits like mango and dragonfruit.

"Looks delicious, Krinos," Lily smiled as she stood next to her friend.

"What can I say, fresh fruit is one of my favorite things in the world," the nature mage responded, picking a strawberry from one branch and eating it.

"Meow," the two heard at the base of the tree.

Looking down, the two saw a black panther around the trunk of the tree. But it was actually a black dahlia panther, the flower petals around its ankles with thorn-like claws and another flower around its neck like a pendant and another on the tip of its tail.

"Seriously, White," Krinos raised an eyebrow.

The panther almost seemed to smirk as it shifted back into their friend. The dirty-blond-haired boy chuckled as he stood back up.
