Chapter 43. Second appearance of the phoenix I

The solid strong double doors opened to reveal a grand hall room. It was a circular room that could be used as a ballroom for parties and celebrations but currently, there were chairs set in a horseshoe formation around the room, and on each chair was a sect official who was sitting patiently, waiting for the group to arrive.

'My goodness... This is like a conference hall. This sect's leader is quite impressive to have this set up in such a short time. I'm impressed,' Leo thought approvingly.

"Please take a seat, dear guests," Nehuy spoke as he pointed towards a row of chairs on the other end of the hall that was opposite to the horseshoe formation.

Leo nodded and led the group to the chairs while Nehuy went to sit on the chair that was reserved for him on the top of the horseshoe and as soon as they sat, a stunning silence filled the room. The negotiations had begun...

"Welcome everyone. Thank you for making it here. We can officially start the negotiations. It shouldn't take too long if we act civilized," Nehuy spoke out.

"Now, dear guests please introduce yourselves and we shall begin."

Leo immediately stood up and calmly spoke out, "Greetings everyone. I am Leon Areia and I will be doing most of the negotiating for my side. Do not worry, the soldiers with the black armor are not a part of this. They have stated that they will not participate in this."

Shock filled the squad leader as she was now filled with confusion. She had only agreed to follow them because she had thought that Leo wanted to use them to scare the opposition. Now she was puzzled, why did Leo invite them now if he did not want to use them to scare the sect?

'You are indeed not simple,' she thought.

"If that is the case then you people should consider the negotiations to be over," an elder rudely spoke out.

"Let me state my demands now. We have two things we want from you guys. They should not be that much of a problem for you guys," Leo began.

"Ok. Let us hear it," the elder replied.

"Firstly, we would like for you guys to not mess with any villagers from now on. Secondly, I want to take Drexler," Leo said calmly.

"Impossible! This will not happen. Drexler is a member of my golden lion hall. I cannot let you take him," the elder angrily shouted.

"Master Leon, we can agree with the first term except the second term," Nehuy spoke out as he began to explain, "Drexler is a part of the royal family. If we were to give him to you, then we would be annexed by the Lapis kingdom."

"I know. He is indeed a member of the royal family. That's why I would like to take him as a disciple"

Silence filled the hall...

"What!? What did I just hear!? Do you think you are qualified to take him as a master? You are just a fifteen year old. How high can your cultivation be?" the elder began mocking Leo.

"Silence!" Nehuy spoke out angrily to shut the elder up. He then turned to Leo and spoke, "Leon, on what basis do you speak? This world is ruled by strength, your words do not have enough strength to make us agree. If you cannot prove your strength then I apologize."

"I knew this would happen. Sigh... Time is precious so I won't waste time. You left me with no choice," Leo helplessly spoke as he turned towards Aurora and gave her a slight nod.

Immediately, they began making a series of hand seals.

But unexpectedly the hall was filled with confusion right now, usually when cultivators were executing an art, the energy around them would grow turbulent and violent. However, in this case, there was no disturbance in the aura in the hallroom. It was completely peaceful, not a single spec of dust was disturbed.

"Hahaha! Is that really an art or are you just making fun of us?" an elder mocked.

"It must be a white ranked art!" the golden lion hall elder added.

"Sect leader. I hope you agree directly, or else we will take out half of the sect," Leo spoke out as he stopped creating his hand seal while Aurora continued making the hand seals.

"We will see about that," Nehuy replied confidently as even he was convinced that the strength of this art could not be strong enough at all to even harm the sect.

Meanwhile, the squad leader who was calmly sitting on the chair was now on alert and very tense, when the two started making the hand seals she thought that it was all an act but then she began to realize the smallest changes in the atmosphere when Leo stopped making the seals.

"Haha! You will take out half of the sect? Hahahaha! That is the funniest thing I ever heard," the golden lion elder broke out in laughter.

"She should take fifteen seconds more to finish it. Our mastery of the art is only at late beginner stage and it still takes this long... It must be because she is a cultivator now," Leo spoke while scratching the back of his head.

"Only at late beginner? Hahahahaha! It seems are all bark and no bite" the elder laughed out again.

"Hey! Squad leader! You have been wondering about why I invited you guys here right?" Leo called out to the squad leader with a plotting smile.

"Indeed. The art you are executing is making me feel uneasy," the leader spoke with a slightly worried tone.

"Haha. Well, it's just like the sect leader said. Strength is power. I thought it wouldn't be good to threaten you guys before but now I can flaunt a fraction of our power," Leo spoke happily with a big smile.

"You better take care of my brother otherwise, I might actually go and destroy your kingdom," Leo warned, "Aurie, done yet?"

And right on cue, Aurora finished her hand seals and replied with a warm smile, "Yep."

And she began to walk out of the hall room and Leo followed suit while telling everyone in the hallroom, "Everyone come outside.

"Haha! What kind of art is th-"

Rumble!

Rumble!

The golden lion elder's mocking was interrupted by a series of huge rumbling noises coming from outside of the hall.

Immediately everyone ran outside to see what was happening...
