CHAPTER 25

Monica's POV

"Na'san na kayo?," I take off the black bonet and throw it behind me. Niloud speaker ko ang cellphone bago ilapag sa table. I started to remove my black boots.

"8th street, I think we'll be out of this town in 10 minutes," she replied on the other line.

I rolled my eyes. "I can't believe you're doing this Jessi, uulitin ko nanaman ba? Kyle Vin's a good catch bakit kailangan mong gawin 'to?"

Sinimulan ko ng hubarin ang itim na overalls habang hinihintay pa rin ang sagot niya.

"Para kang parents niya, don't force her to marry someone she doesn't love," boses 'yon ni Hiro.

"Let me hold the phone babe, just focus on driving," Jessi chuckled on the background.

I shook my head before grabbing my gown on the bed. Dinamay pa talaga ako sa pagtatanan daw nila.

"Ang galing mo naman palang maging kidnapper, Nic. Sa'n ka nagpapart time?," Hiro utter jokingly. I heard them both laugh.

"Argh! Siguraduhin niyong malaki ang makukuha kong incentives. My hair and make up was ruined by the bonet," reklamo ko. I walk towards my vanity mirror and started to fix my make up. I put on my green gown and started applying my favorite red lipstick.

Their laughters faded for a second. Jessica's voice turned serious. "Gracias, prima. I really appreciate what you did. I know my favor's never easy. I'm happy you still went for it"

Napatigil ako at napasulyap sa cellphone. A genuine smile plastered on my face. "Don't overdue the drama, Jessi girl," I chuckle.

"No, but.. thank you. You really saved my life by helping me escape," her voice somehow trembled.

"Are you crying?," I jest.

"Yeah..," she laugh.

Bitch I've been a superhero tonight. Yet wearing a crappy kidnapper outfit.

I was lying on my bed when I heard a knock on the door. "It's open," I utter.

I glanced at the door. Iniluwa no'n ang mahinhing katauhan ni Hannah. She's wearing a baby pink flowy dress.

"So what's the tea?," tamad kong saad habang hindi pa rin bumabangon.

"Molina's downstairs, were heading to Tamara's beauty bar. Did you forgot about the Gala tonight?," she walked towards me. Kinusot ko ang mga mata at bumangon. Sumandal ako sa headrest at kinapa ang cellphone ko sa bedside table.

"Bitch!" Agad akong napatalon mula sa kama nang makita ang oras. Pati na ang texts at missed calls galing kay Jessica.

"You don't actually need to rush, maghihintay naman kami ni Molly sa baba," Hannah laugh at me.

Natataranta na ako at hindi alam kung ano ang una kong gagawin. I run towards the bathroom. "No, I can't go with you. Susunduin ko si Jessi sa airport," I told her.

"Like right now?," nagtatakang tanong niya.

"Yeah, maybe let's just see each other at the party tonight"

"O-kay!"

I shut the bathroom's door locked.
