CHAPTER 44

Sassy's POV

Kuya chose a fancy hotel for us to stay. Since 1 week lang naman kami dito, I decided na sulitin na ang ilang araw na nandito kami. These guys should try something new.

We ate at the nearest restaurant. Masaya ako dahil nagustuhan nila ang pagkain. Though I haven't been into any restaurants before.. when i was still living in the province. Dati ni hindi ko naranasan makapasok sa malls. I can't help but think about my old self. I somehow miss that person, that old version of me.

"I never know this food existed, I don't understand but I like it so much!," Chris utter. Sinimot niya ang sisig na natira sa plato.

"Too bad, you can only find that here in the Philippines," I chuckle.

"Yeah and this spring rolls are fire!," Austin said having another bite  of the lumpia.

"That's lumpia, I like that one too," I tell him. He smiled.

"Can we go somewhere after this? I want to see some interesting places," Jeff asked.

"We're not here for vacation, Jeff. We'll go back to the hotel after this," kuya Grey intruded. His friends literally stopped and looked at him in disagreement.

"What?," Kuya.

I looked at him and raised a brow. "That sounds so KJ"

"You know what we came here, for work. Focus on that, let's just leave it that way. We don't know this place— this country, we need to be careful," kuya explained.

I tried to hold a straight face but I can't help but to crack up. "You're funny! You overthink a lot kuya, don't worry Filipino people are friendly. We're safe here," I tell him. He looks so serious though.

"I think Amara is right, the waitress was so kind to me earlier. He said I'm so cute," Leo grin. Natawa na lang ako.

Kuya shook his head. "I said what I said. And you," tinuro ako ni kuya. "You can't go anywhere without us"

"Are you kidding me?," natatawa pang tanong ko. Pero hindi pa rin nagbabago ang ekspresyon ng mukha niya. Seryoso nga siya.

"Mom won't know, promise!," I tell them.

"No," tipid na tugon ni kuya.

"Hey! Hindi ka naman ganiyan no'ng nasa Beverly hills pa tayo ah," reklamo ko. I crossed my arms and glared at the glass wall. Masama akong tumingin sa mga sasakyang dumadaan sa labas.

"I'm just protecting you," kuya's voice turns soft. Nilingon ko siya, he smiled at me. Napabuntong hininga nalang ako.

"Just don't forget our paycheck, I left my family for this," Chris jest. Yeah iniwan niya sandali ang mag ina niya para sumama sa'min hehe.

"And I left my precious gallery for this," dagdag ni Leo. He owns an art gallery.

"Ay grabe kayo! You left temporarily, okay? You won't be gone forever. Don't make me feel guilty," I chuckle.

"You didn't ask us to come anyway, don't worry. We chose to come here.," Austin said. He's a doctor in California. Sa dami ng magiging trabaho niya ang pagiging doctor ang huling trabaho na maiisip kong gagawin niya. I really focused on their appearance back then. I didn't know na super judgemental ako when it comes to them.

"Not me, Amara asked me to be one of her models," Jeff utter. That's true 'coz he works as a full time supermodel of different brands like Gucci, Calvin Klein, Dior, and so on.
