When I first wrote this I thought it was crap but then I re-read it today and I didn't realize it was something that I wrote but now I love it.

The little baby sleeps peacefully

The moon shining in on his crib

The moon and stars hang above

Watching him with a smile

It all melts

Melting melting melting

The baby sprouts horns and wicked sharp teeth

His skin turns red like cherries

Talons grow on his hands and feet

He no longer looks peaceful

How could a demon look innocent?

The room turns red with blood

Soaking the walls and carpet

The demon child is not innocent at all

I look upon the room expecting to see childish toys

Instead I see something broken and bent

A doll broken and bent from petty play

'Do not look closer' my mind commands

Ignoring it I look

It is not a doll at all

But his nurse

It is her blood on the walls and floor

The monster is not innocent!

It is not safe!

Grab your torch!

Grab your pitchfork!

It is time to cast this evil from our city!

Do not spare the parents

To spawn a demon

One must be a demon!

Down comes the house

The cries inside pierce our souls

But still we stand firm

When we look at the ashes

We find but one body

The body of the nurse

Oh woe!

Woe is we who let the demons escape!
