S h e   remembered the last time she'd seen him. Just before the exam, When he threatened her. When she promised he'd never have to see her again.

And now here she was no more than a few weeks later, dating the devil's son. Sleeping in his home.

Had it always been this cold in here? She thought as goosebumps pierced through her skin. She felt colder and much smaller as he towered over her.

Lana could only blink.

Frederick, the worst professor in the entire school, who hated Lana was Elijah's father.

Fuck

They were locked in a staring contest, Frederick and her. He was rigid and his eyes were dark, she was scared if she made any movement he'd actually eat her alive.

"Lana?" Elijah called out, she remained catatonic for a few seconds but eventually was able to get one stuttering word out

"...H--hi" she squeaked

Frederick said nothing.

Elijah and his mother both exchanged the same strange look before his mother, Aline spoke

"...anyway. dinner should be ready in a few minutes," she said, still Frederick stood and Lana was frozen before he uncrossed his arms and walked away, without saying anything

Elijah lead Lana back upstairs, she couldn't help noticing the family photos that hung on the wall beside the staircase

Elijah as a boy, his mother who looked no younger then, or older now and one of Frederick that caught her eye.

He was young in that one, maybe twenty years ago, he looked thirty. His wrinkles absent and the few strands of grays in his hair gone. Of course, he was not smiling. That hadn't changed.

Neither had the cold glare in the photo that seemed all too life-like

They made it to Elijah's room when she shut the door behind them.

"Sorry about my father he's usually not as... reserved" he tried to explain

"Elijah" Lana started, taking a deep breath in "I have to tell you something about your father and me"

"What?" He asked, sitting on the edge of his bed which had black sheets instead of the white ones at his house

He arched his brow before narrowing them "what is it, Lana?"

"I used to be his student"

Elijah froze "No," he said, shaking his head "no"

"Calm down, I haven't even told you anything yet," Lana said
