30 ~ Poptart Babies

Thank you sooo much for 100k reads and sticking with me through 30 chapters! We're probably around half way now but there's so much more to come.

" W h e n was your last period?" Jamie asked Lana, shaking the pregnancy stick more aggressively  like that was going to make a difference or give them their results any faster

"I don't know" Lana breathed heavily, her head cupped between her hands.

"Lana--"

"Fuck Jamie, I don't know" she snapped.

"Woah.."

She shut her eyes and shook her head "Sorry"

Jamie rubbed her arm tenderly.

Lana sat straight up, trying to calm herself enough to trigger her memory. The entire month had been a blur, she studied, she was with Elijah, she worked and that's all she remembered.

"It's been more than a month. I missed it" Lana said finally, her heart dropped into her stomach.

"...Well, you just had exams, maybe you're late because of the stress?" Jamie suggested, hoping it was true "Just calm down"

"How?" She asked because all she kept thinking about over and over was being late and missing an entire month.

"I can't have a baby. I'm too young, I'm not done school, I don't have a career, I'm unmarried, I work in a bar for minimum wage and live with my aunt for goodness sakes

I can't even afford to live on campus, let alone raise a kid" Lana sighed

A few months ago she never planned on being in any type of relationship and now here she was potentially pregnant

"We don't know if you're pregnant Lana. And even if you are, you're not alone" Jamie tried to console her

"And your kid is going to be beautiful, smart, funny, hopefully has Elijah's height cause--"

"Jamie..."

"Celma is going to kill me" Lana shivered "My parents are going to raise from the dead, just to come back and kill me"

"You know my mom would never do that. She'd raise the baby like it's her own and so would I"

"But would Elijah? What if he leaves me because of this?"

Jamie wished she could tell her he wouldn't, but she didn't know that

"Let's not get too ahead of ourselves. We don't even know the result" Jamie reminded her
