They say all good things, must come to an end. But who knew their end would come so abruptly?
He was ready for love. She was ready to be loved. They were both so young. They wanted each other so badly, but life just wouldn't have it that way. Was it...
It was just in time for Diamond's sixteenth birthday too.
No one was expecting Dana to come so early, and they knew this would be a rather difficult time for Diamond, considering she would be celebrating her birthday without either of her parents this year.
Over the years, Diamond managed to become a little spoiled diva who got whatever she wanted per her request, thanks to her Uncle Shazam and her grandparents.
Shazam decided to step up and take on the father role in his nieces and nephew lives, in Dino's absence. It wasn't easy at all, considering he had his own kids and step kids to look after.
Being a father figure to all of these children was a rather difficult job, but he was willing to do whatever for his other half.
He knew Dino would've done the same, had the shoe been on the other foot. At the end of the day, that was his heart, his other half, and he'd do anything for him, including help raise his four children.
After the loss of Dino, he himself struggled to get through life, but with his wife, Keke, by his side, he was able to get through even the darkest of days.
Diamond caused him the most grief out of all the children, due to her being the youngest out of them all, and when she came to him begging for him to take her to Miami, Florida for her sweetsixteen, he couldn't say no.
She had Dino's eyes and his smile, so when she pouted those lips of hers and batted those eyes, next thing Shazam knew, he, his wife, and Diamond were on the first flight out to Miami.
He rented them a house on the beach, so that they could be close to the water. Diamond wasn't a friendly person at all, so she only invited the people she knew and love.
She never once suspected that her mother would be there, but thanks to Keke, she was able to get flown out too.
Thing is, Dana wanted to surprise her daughter, so Diamond was completely unaware that her mother was already there.
"Aunt Keke, can I look now?" Diamond questioned, as she began to fiddle with the blindfold that was placed over her eyes.
"In a second baby, we're almost there, just keep walking."
"Aight then," Diamond replied, her voice sounded a lot less enthusiastic than it did before.
"No need to pout, we almost there."
"I ain't pouting, it just feel like we been walking fa a long time is all," Diamond whined, her southern drawl coming off, just as strong as ever.
Often times, Dana would tease her and say that she sounded almost the same as Dino, when she talked. Diamond hated hearing that, simply, because she believed they sounded nothing alike.
Devin sounded way more like their daddy than she did.
"Well we here now, so sit ya behind down." Keke grabbed ahold of Diamond's shoulders and sat her in the chair.
"Can I take my blindfold off now?" Diamond asked, almost unable to hold back her excitement.
"Go'n head child," Keke said, waving her off.
Diamond wasted no time ripping the blindfold off of her face. What she seen, when her vision finally cleared that is, left her in absolute awe.
