*May 2001*
Guilt, just like karma was a true motherfucker. Dana and Dino didn't speak to each other again for months, after what happened.
Whenever it came time for the kids to be dropped off at either house, Dana would stay in the car as Dino got them out of the backseat, whereas Dana and the kids would wait for him by the front door.
There weren't much communication between the two, besides a simple hi and bye.
They couldn't even bare looking the other in the eye, without feeling at least an ounce of guilt.
Dana wasn't so sure if Dino had come out to tell Teshya the truth or not, but she secretly wished that he hadn't. Even if she was the one who'd suggested he come clean with Teshya in the first place.
She'd been on the other end of that rope before, and the last thing she wanted to be known for was being a home wrecker.
She and Teshya had yet to meet, and she wasn't so sure if she wanted it to be under these circumstances.
That wasn't here nor there, she couldn't focus on anything that wasn't her career, or her business.
Right after she had Diamond, Keke ended up being completely overworked from all of the parties she'd booked. She had to hire an assistant, just to help her keep up with her own everyday life.
The day Dana came back, it was completely chaotic, she had to jump right back into work, as if she never left.
Lucky enough for the both of them, she was built for that sort of thing. With a little bit of coaching from Devante, situations like these were like a cakewalk to Dana.
A lot of days for her were a lot easier than others, but for Dino..not so much.
Because she was so wrapped up in her work, Dana hadn't noticed, that once again, he'd began to disappear on everybody.
Lately, instead of dropping them off at his house, Dana ended up having to drive over to Carolyn's or her mother's.
Dino had completely fallen underneath the radar and she couldn't seem to figure out why. But what she did not know is, life had been going everything, but great for him.
In the beginning, the music he was working on, had mostly taken up majority of his time.
Unbeknownst to Dana, and pretty much anyone who wasn't in the studio with him, he'd secretly been working on his own studio album.
Shazam's Bringing The Heat album had done so well, he was able to go out on a mini solo tour, to a few cities, Houston, Texas included.
The success from his brother's album, had more than motivated Dino to get back in the studio and work on his own.
There was so much inspiration around him, including whenever he would look into his children's eyes alone, that he simply could not ignore.
Before he knew it, he was writing five to eight songs in a day. That was enough for more than just one album, but it would do for now.
He was so confident in himself and this record, that he didn't hesitate to sought out for whoever was willing to listen.
Only to be turned down again, and again, and again.
Dino had gotten so tired of hearing the word no, that he nearly blew up on the last guys he tried turning to.
It wasn't a good look at all, though he was trying his best to control his temper, he could literally feel himself bursting with anger at any given moment.
