*June 1997*

"Hey boy! Hey mama man!" Dana and Devin were on top of her bed, she hovered over him as he laughed out of control from her tickling his stomach.

Dana always loved the sound of a child's laughter, it was the cutest thing ever.

"Mommy baby ticklish?" She laughed right along with him.

Devin laughed until his sides began to hurt and he tried moving her hands away.

Dana stopped tickling him and leaned down to kiss him, "you so silly boy."

Devin got up on his knees and ran to jump into Dana's lap, wrapping his arms around her neck, attacking her with all types of kisses.

"Aww, him love him mommy!" Dhe hugged him back and returned the kiss.

A second later, Dae'sha walked into the room, with the house phone pressed to her ear like a little woman.

"Uh huh, yes. Mommy right here....yeah."

Dana climbed out of the bed and walked over to her daughter, with both of her hands on her hips, "Dae'sha, who are y-"

Dae'sha put her index finger up, indicating that her mother should close her mouth, "hold on mommy."

Dana raised her eyebrows in surprise, "well excuse me." She placed a hand to her chest and turned to walk away.

"Okay, bye daddy. I love you too." Dae'sha removed the phone from her ear and held it out for Dana, "here mommy."

Dana turned back around, "is daddy still on the phone?"

"No."

"Oh," Dana twisted her lips to the side and frowned. Apparently he was back to ignoring her again. She had a feeling it was all, because she'd refused him the last time they actually seen each other.

It made her feel somewhat bad, but as much as she would've liked to have worked it out with him, she knew she had to continue to move forward.

It was time Dino did the same.

Dana placed the cordless phone, back on the hook.

She eyed the clock on the wall, it was almost two in the afternoon, "well, it's almost two. You guys ready to eat lunch?" She asked.

Devin was standing up by the bed, banging the remote against the bedpost. Dae'sha had a frown on her face, one that made Dana's heart sink.

Placing a strand of hair behind her ear, Dana kneeled down before her, "Toot, what's wrong? You miss your daddy?"

It was more than obvious that that's what it was, but Dana would've preferred to hear it come from Dae'sha's mouth herself.

Dae'sha nodded her head slowly as she continued to look down at the floor, "mommy, when are we going back home to live with daddy?"

Dae'sha never asked this question before, and in some selfish way, Dana always hoped that she wouldn't. She didn't have a proper way to tell her, that they would never live with Dino ever again.

How was she to tell her four year old daughter the truth without actually hurting her feelings? No one said it would be easy raising a child on your own, she just never thought it would be this hard.

Dana rubbed her hand along Dae'sha's arm in a soothing manner, "umm baby, I'm not sure if-"

"Daddy, said that for me to not be sad no more, because um, w-we will be back home again."

Dana lowered her eyebrows, "he said that?"

What kind of lies was he feeding her? Dana couldn't tell her daughter no, or else Dino would've looked like a liar, but if she said yes then she would look like one.
