FRANCOIS BONNEFOY

You were back at the mansion, sitting blankly on the shared bedroom that held so many memories (cOUGH) and yet, the warmth of the sheets wouldn't suffice for the cold and empty feeling that resided in your heart.

It was a long argument that ended with a mutual agreement. Though, you couldn't exactly call it a happy one, the two of you agreed on one thing, at the very least, and that was a little better that ending things with anger and absolutely no closure.

Back at the cafe, you had finalized that staying away from this man would be pointless, seeing as you were already in too deep to ever fall out of love. However, Francois, though he loved you just as much and more, encouraged you to break up with him and forget he ever existed. You found it repulsive and hurtful at first. How can he simply suggest that when you've been together for so long?

Then a part of you reasoned that he simply wanted you safe from the mess he made. You struck a deal with him, insisting that you'll only stay away until he's properly dealt with Anton and his enemies, and after that, you'll both start anew. Francois was silent at first, staring at you for what seemed like forever. Eventually, he agrees, giving in to give you a quick kiss, before he calls for Simeon to take you back to the mansion so that you can pack a few of your things.

This would bring you to your current state—almost hollow and nearly devoid of any emotion at the foot of the bed.

Your suitcases were already set, but you begged Simeon to give you a couple of moments before he drives you out to Francis, who will hide away to who knows where. "(Y/N)," you heard Simeon call out to you gently. You turn to him, trying your best to muster up an assuring smile, but fail as he still had concern written all over his features. He's always been like a younger brother to you and you knew that things were getting a little rough on him too.

"It'll be okay," the twenty-two-year-old man smiles at you. He has that gleam in his eyes again—the same twinkle he always has when he gushes over you and Francois. "After all this, you two will be together again, then you two will get married and have kids," he seemed beyond excited at the thought, "and I'll be the godfather, right? I know I'll need Monsieur Bonnefoy's permission too, but I can be a godfather, right? Wait, can they even have children?"

You let out a laugh at his words. "Why not?" you giggled as he gleefully raised his fist in victory.

The atmosphere has been a lot lighter since, and that made it easier for you to set the darker things aside. But of course, Fate always has a different plan...

BANG!

The glass of the window shatters along with the archaic vase on your side. You shrieked at the sudden disturbance, standing almost immediately as your arm bled at the big shard of porcelain that embedded itself on your skin. Distant gunshots and screams began to resonate from beyond your bedroom door, and that made your heart beat beyond control. The sudden kick that burst your doors open didn't help either.
