The house felt eerily quiet and still, Dana was almost tempted to walk right back out of that door.

Dino just had to be here. There's no way that his car would be here, and he wouldn't.

With her hands in front of her, Dana felt along the walls for the nearest light switch.

Not only were all the lights off, but it also felt rather warm and all around stuffy. Dana did not particularly like the vibes she was getting in this place.

Needless to say, she was a little weirded out by the whole thing.

Her hand landed on what felt like the light switch and she immediately flicked it on without giving it a second thought.

Nothing happened.

"What the hell?" She continued to flicker it on and off, coming up unsuccessful every time.

"Ugh, oh my God! Dino! Dino, where are you? And why aren't your lights coming on?!" She shouted, her voice managing to echo throughout the entire house.

"Mommy, where is daddy?" Dae'sha finally asked, this standing in the dark thing, had her absolutely frightened, it was written all over her face.

The terror in her eyes, brought back a few unwanted memories for Dana. She was slowly remembering what it was like to be in a house without lights, thank God those days were over, she promised herself that she would never go back.

This could only mean one thing however, Dino hadn't paid the light bill, but for how long exactly?

There had to be a true explanation for this, and that just could not be it.

Dana intended on getting to the bottom of this, she just had to find him first.

"Umm, come on, let's go outside." Dana wanted to be on the safe side by putting her kids in the car, where they would be much safer.

Because the lights were off, she had no idea what she would be up against, and couldn't risk putting them in any harms way.

"Okay, listen to me, mommy is going to run in here for a quick second. These doors are to remain locked until I come back here and get you, understand me?" Dana instructed Dae'sha who sat in the front seat.

"Yes mama." Dae'sha nodded.

"Okay, I'll be back in a few minutes, I promise not to take too long," Dana reassured her daughter as she leaned in close to kiss her on the forehead.

She made sure her other kids were secured in their seatbelts, closing the passenger door behind her.

When she did so, Diamond's eyes and head both went up. Her little hands went on the glass, her eyes watching her mother's every move, "maaa! Ma!"

While jogging up the driveway, Dana glanced over her shoulder, to see her child crying and tapping on the window with her small hands, "mommy's coming back baby." She said, as if she could hear her.

She reentered through the front door and shot up the stairs in search of Dino's room.

Soon as she stepped through his door, the aroma of cigarettes and alcohol immediately filled her nostrils, "oh my God!" She exclaimed, both of her hands instantly went over her nose.

"Dino! Dino, what the hell i-" Dana's voice got caught in her throat the moment, she felt her feet slipping underneath her.

Thankfully she was able to catch herself in time, before she could eventually slip and fall on her ass.

Crouching down on her feet, she reached down, wrapping her fingers around a big empty liquor bottle.

She flung it onto what she was sure was his bed, her feet coming into contact with a few other bottles on her way to his bedroom window.
